Lost install disk

I purchased my iMac over the summer and seemed to have misplaced the boot or install dvd that comes with the system. Now my hard drive crashed and I need to get a copy so I may boot from disk and run the disk utility.
After searching high and low, I can not find any article or download to recreate this dvd. Do I need to order a new one or is there a place to download?
Thank you

Phone 1-800-SOS-APPL and ask for a new disk. There will be a charge.

  • Lost Install Disks iMac 2.33 6.1 2006

I did a secure erase before realising that I had lost my original install disks.
Rather than trying to get a set of install disks from Apple if I purchase a retail version of Snow Leopard will that
work, even though there is no sytem currently on the computer.
    Thanks

As that model originally shipped with either 10.5.8 or 10.6.0. the retail installer (which is 10.6.3) should be fine.
You'll not have the iLife applications which were bundled on the original disc 2, though, or Apple Hardware Test which also came on disc 2.
Of course you could just restore from your backup…

  • Lost Install Disk Logic 8 in desperate need in Mexico..

Hi, I have somehow lost my install disk to my Logic 8 Pro Academic Version. I have all the jam pack and audio content disks and demo content disks but somehow misplaced the install disk during my move. I am in a remote village in Mexico doing volunteering and Apple support via phone has been unfruitful and frustrating. I had my MBP stolen and have since replaced it with an older one and I went to install Logic I realized I was missing the disk. DoH!
Is there anyway I can get the install disk sent via email or something from Apple or from someone here? I can't seem to even find the section on the support page for Logic.
I dont want to torrent it and not even sure if I could torrent such a specific (and dated) program. And from what I understand a torrented verision wouldn't be compatable with my jam packs and audio content of which I obviously need.
I really need this as I'm teaching the basics of recording as part of my volunteering down here in Mexico and I freelance as audio/video dude . I purchased this program in 2009 and would love and feel like I deserve a clean install. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks/Gracias

Getting a replacement disk via Apple would be the only legal means of doing this unless you want to purchase a used Full version of Logic Studio 1.0 (which included Logic Pro 8) from eBay or somewhere similar...
If Apple cannot help you and you cannot buy a used copy then you only other option is to install Mountain Lion and upgrade to LPX via the App store, if that is possible on your Mac.
I will say that one of my clients had the same issue just before Christmas 2012 and Apple did send him a replacement disk once he provided them with his Serial Number and proof of purchase. Do you not have these and is that why Apple would/could not assist you?

  • Lost install disks...how to recover them?

    Hello,
I bought a mac mini April 2009 from apple with apple care. I have the apple care disk. The mini came with 10.5 and ilife '09.
I upgraded to 10.6 and all is fine... sort of.
I need to reinstall ilife '09 on this machine. Plus, I really think it is good to have the base install disks. What can I do?
    Thanks,
    Charlie Cooperman

If you bought the AppleCare 3-year support warranty, just call the AppleCare number on your package and ask them how to proceed. They should be able to get your discs replaced, for at most a nominal cost -- and there won't be any charge for the call since you are still under AppleCare.
People normally think of AppleCare for hardware repair, but it's also great anytime you need any question answered.

  • Lost install disks for MBP 13"

I bought a new MBP 13" 2.53GHz but unfortunately the original install disks have gone missing from the hotel room where I stayed. I contacted Apple Singapore and they told me they could not replace the disks and suggested I buy a Mac Box Set. I am worried that these may not contain the Windows 7 drivers in the event I want to install Boot Camp and Windows 7. What can I do in this case? Will an original Snow Leopard OS disk have these drivers? If not, where can I download them?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Wow, thanks a lot, Neil. I asked because the last time I installed Boot Camp for an older unibody MBA 2.2Ghz, the drivers were absent from the Leopard OS disk and it was such a pain trying to get those drivers for windows. I do not have a habit to carry startup disks with me when I travel...

  • PB G$ 1.67 won't start, lost install disks, can I install via FW(T) mode?

    Hi all,
You, she just gives me the grey screen w/apple logo. Tried all the usual stuff (PRAM, safe mode, single user - no change. Option mode shows the drive, but when I click on it and continue, back to apple screen. I used PB as a source Firewire drive and it worked fine - I saved all my important stuff to my Intel Mac Pro desktop. No problem, so I assume the drive is fine and the directory or system software is messed up. I cannot find my Install DVD - every other Mac in the house but my PB!! How can I get around this? Can I use firewire mode on the PB and install from the Mac Pro somehow? Please, any help would be appreciated. I'd hate to have to buy new disks...
    Thanks,
    Tony Heyes

Can I use firewire mode on the PB and install from the Mac Pro somehow?
No. Since the PowerPC installer disks won't install on an Intel Mac, or vice versa that's impossible.
I'd hate to have to buy new disks...
Fortunately new disks are no more than $30 or $40 depending on how many disks came with the machine. Call AppleCare for replacement disks:
    http://www.apple.com/contact/phone_contacts.html
Note, repairing the directory from Apple's own Disk Utility and the installer disks may not always fix your problem. You may need Alsoft Disk Warrior 4.0 in the most extreme situations. Since you are backed up, that should not be a problem.

You can go strait to SL, all you need is a retail SL DVD available from Apple for $20. The US online store has them at:
