Lost installation disk and no product codei

my windows 7 install disk is damaged what do i do i bought this computer from a yard sale and i  have no product code what do i do

Best option is to contact the OEM (Dell, HP, Lenovo, etc...) and see if you can purchase the Install disks from them. Sometimes they can give them to you for free if its under warranty but you can normally expect to pay for them (usually $20 - $40). If
its a DIY PC, then you would need to purchase a new disk/key so you can reinstall windows. Really no other way around it

You can go strait to SL, all you need is a retail SL DVD available from Apple for $20. The US online store has them at:

I have cs4 installed on my old computer, i have since lost the disk and serial #s. Is there any way to recover this information and install the programs on my new computer? I used my old computer for college and haven't used it in awhile, now I have a job that can benefit from having those programs. I was wondering if ADOBE keeps records or something to where I can download the programs on my new MacBook and use my old serial #s.

  • I just recently bought my friend's iMac 10,1 21.5in with all of his documents in it He lost his installer disks and it has OS X Snow Leopard. How can I restore it to factory settings? Or can I buy OS X Lion online and restore it to factory settings?

    ?

Sooner or later, you will need to have those install disks, so you or your friend need to call Apple, give them the serial number of the machine and ask for replacement disks which should be sent out for a nominal fee. Other than that, you could also buy Snow Leopard retail disk at various resellers or Apple store online for $29.
You will need that disk because: if you want to update to Lion and you purchase it at the app store, the license for it is not transferable, so if you ever sell that Mac, you are required to uninstall Lion and reinstall the original system (which you will need the disks for). The disks also include diagnostic/repair software.
So, it's best to have the disks; and, if you do purchase and install Lion, make sure you make a complete backup - bootable clone or Time Machine just in case.

  • Lost installation disks - need download link

I had bought Adobe Photoshop and Premiere Elements 9 last year when I was living in Spain, and had registered it online. While relocating back to India, I lost the installation disks that I had. Since I did not buy it online from adobe website, I do not have a download link. Any idea if I can get a download link? Those products still appear registered.. Any help is appreciated!

If you bought those last year, it had to be recent versions, thus you should be able to find those in trial versions on Adobe's FTP ( somewhere below ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/ … ) , then enter your serial numbers so these trial versions become permanent, registered versions.

  • Lost installation disks for Macbook Pro OS X 10.6.8 (2.3GHz Intel Core i7 SSD

    Hi there
I've recently moved to Berlin and of course left my installation disks in my home country. I have a corrupt HD and need to do some disk repair.
What are my options? I do not have Apple Care, and there is no Apple Store in Berlin (weirdly).
    Thanks in advance!

They won't have replacement discs, but they may have a copy of Snow Leopard they can install on your computer. If they don't then you would have to purchase one from Apple directly:
If you need to purchase Snow Leopard you can still purchase a copy from Apple's online store's telesales agents.[1-800-MY-APPLE (1-800-692-7753) or Customer Service and Sales Support at 1-800-676-2775.] Ask for a Sales Representative.
Third-party sources for Snow Leopard are:
    Snow Leopard from Amazon.com
    Snow Leopard from eBay
After you install Snow Leopard you will have to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store.

  • Lost installation disk, photoshop elements 7

    Hi,
I cannot locate my installation disk for photoshop elements 7, and I'd like to install it on my new laptop.  i did register the program on adobe.com way back when I got the disk, but given that it was a physical installation disk (vs. a download from the website), am SOL?
    Thanks!

OL might be where you end up, especially trying to install something that old on a new machine.
I don't believe you will find a downloadable copy of PSE7, though you can try searching the site linked below.  I think they only go back to version 8.

If you find it, be sure to follow the steps outlined in the Note: Very Important Instructions section on the download pages at this site.
Also, if you find it, you will probably need to contact Adobe Support to get assistance with activating it since you no longer have your disc packaging where the serial number will be found.

  • G5 Switches to Auto Speed with Installation Disk and Overheats

My G5 overheats when set to "Automatic" mode in the Energy Saver window of System Preferences. I must leave it set on "Reduced" speed. However, when I startup from the installation disk it sets the speed at Automatic and I cannot complete tasks like "repair permissions" and make an image of my boot drive before the fans go turbo and the processor (I presume) overheats.
How can I set energy saver to "reduced" when booting up with the installation disk or, how can I solve the overheat problem ( Cleaning dust out of the inside has no effect on the overheating/driving problem. I keep it very clean.) Could a bad video card cause this?

Can you please provide details on the exact model?
For a start, the PRAM battery is likely dead.  PRAM tells the computer which drive to start with, other basic information.  Still, you can usually get the computer to start, though bad PRAM is unpredictable and could be stopping that.
Some computer models use software to control cooling fans.  If there's no software commands they automatically go into high speed to prevent overheating.  Your software obviously isn't loading, so runaway fans.
