Lost internet connection after installing BT dongle (MS-6967)

I have tried installing the MSI Bluetooth USB dongle (MS-6967) drivers twice. I tried the 1.3.1 version and the 1.4.2 version drivers. The Bluetooth dongle itself works fine, but both times I lost my internet connection after installation. After this I have to remove the drivers and repair my installation with the Windows CD, but then windows and all of my programs also need to be updated again since my original Windows CD is a first release version.
The weird thing is that I can connect to other local computers and I can even ping external computers, but browsing websites (on IP address), looking up domain names and retrieving mail are no longer possible. I have no firewall software installed.
Does anyone konw how to fix this?

Am I really the only one with this problem? Well I have seen someone else on another forum ...
Maybe someone knows how to reinstall just the TCP/IP stack?
I'm using a notebook with buil-in network card. It runs W2K dutch version SP4 and things worked before when I was using SP1. Somehow it doesn;t work now anymore. Before I start reinstalling everyting again, I just want to check once more if anyone has some tips for recovering.

Lots of people are having the same problem, you're not the only one, belieeeeve me.
Just Googling the problem gets you tons of people complaining about the same thing, SOMETHING is up with Lion what wasn't happening with Snow Leopard. i just bought a new Imac and it CAME with Lion, so i started experiencing this internet dropout immediately.
It's been going on for the most of a year it looks like (at least by the dates from the threads i've been reading)
So your best bet is to fiddle with the System Preferences and read what other people have used to make theirs work. i'm doing that myself right now. I already posted a similar thread last night trying to figure out why my connection kept on dropping, i got a reply which linked me to a site. i followed the instructions there, so far so good, but i'm just being cautiously optimistic.
i'm gonna call Apple today and see if they've found anything, though seeing as this is a problem right out of the box there may not be an immediate solution. Good luck hunting for a solution :3

Check with your internet provider for help. Your modem or router could have been damaged if they did not come on after the outage. If your modem and router look OK all you should have to do is restart your iMac.

No internet connection after installing yosemite

After installing Yosemite, I have no internet connection. If I hold option key, my wifi description shows Internet as unreachable,although all my bars are dark and the rest of the settings look the same. When I connected via cable, it did not show an Ethernet connection. My pc and iPad work fine,so it isn't my carrier. Anyone else have this problem and know a fix??? You are on to something here.
I tried unloading, and it was not found. I then loaded the file, and magically all my apple apps made their network connections and started working.
But here's where it gets funny.
I logged off, and into another use account and I had no network connection.
I logged back into my account, and had no network connection. I needed to unload and load the file again for the network to return.

After installing a new NIC for the egde external connection and new GoDaddy 10-slot UCC cert on my edge server and Forefront TMG reverse proxy, I have lost the ability to connect to my federated partners. Snooper logs seem to indicate that the
certificate is not being accepted. Test-CsFederatedPartner returns the message, "This machine does not have any assigned certificate." Running the Lync Deployment Wizard on the edge shows that it definitely does have a certificate. Get-CsCertificate,
Test-CsComputer, and Test-CsCertificateConfiguration all show the new certificate is in place. Digicert's online certificate check has no problem finding the edge server and has verified that the cert is functional. This edge server was running
perfectly for over a year.

What the SN and SAN entries of the new GoDaddy UCC certificate?Do they meet the external Edge certificate requirements?Check the following links for Edge certificate requirements

If all are ok,please ask your federated partner to check if the Godaddy CA is in their trust CA list,also I remember that Godaddy always has intermediate certificate,please check if you and your partner has installed it too.

Intermittent internet connectivity after installing lion

I installed lion on my macbook pro a week ago and my internet connectivity was working fine up until now. At this point when I start up safari, it will connect and work for about 3 - 5 minutes and lose connectivity. I have two other laptops (windows os) and they do not have a problem with holding their connection to my router. Any advice in the basic terms would be greatly appreciated. Oh......my mac says that it is connected but its not.

I did search and couldn't find the answer but in fact I got a tip, and finally found the solution.
My problem is with AVAST, actually the Webshield.
So the solution has been to stop the Webshield (which also stops the Mailshield) but still keeping Avast running with the Fileshield.
Not bud to keep this discussion, people can find the solution in the 2nd answer and no need to spend hours looking through hundresds of posts.

Lost internet connection after sleep

When waking from sleep my internet connection is lost and I have to click the airport icon and reselect my network to reconnect. I dont have this problem with my MacBook, it reconnects automatically when when waking. Is there a way to set up the iMac (running 10.6.6) so that it reconnects to my my network automatically when it wakes?

I am having the same problem of the airport network not coming up automatically without pressing the network manually in the signal bar. I checked the system preference checks as you explained and still have the problem. Any other suggestions.

iMac 20" running Snow Leopard 10.6.8 After allowing Software Update to install the newest version of Safari , 5.1.2, I no longer have connection through Safari, Mail or Software Update.The problem is not with the ISP as a laptop plugged into the same cable works fine. Would the update have changed any settings in Network preferences?

Satellite T130-11U lost Bluetooth connection after installing Mobile Broadb

I recently bought a Satellite T130-11U and established a connection with my Nokia N82, using PC Suite.
Then I installed my Mobile Broadband (TMN operator) and lost the Bluetooth connection.
There must be some way to overcome this "conflict".

Maybe this 3rd party application is not compatible and this is the reason why this happens
But first of all you should check if the Bluetooth is still enabled
Furthermore you should check if this issue would happen after installation of new BT stack

Lost wireless connection after installing Snow Leopard combo update.

Hi everybody. I installed Snow Leopard on my father-in-law's Mac Mini (one year old) over Christmas, as a gift. The upgrade went fine. Everything worked until I performed a SW update. It downloaded a mammoth 500+ MB combo update (wirelessly), installed it, and boom. No wireless.
His network has no security; it is open. The Mac could see/find the network, but timed-out when connecting. Connection Doctor and Network Diagnostics; all red lights. His Dell and my iPod Touch had no problem connecting. I tried switching user accounts, turning Airport ON/OFF, trashing Locations and using Automatic, inactivating interfaces, disabling firewall, restarting, PRAM reset, and probably some other things I can't recall.
I couldn't leave him without any Internet, and I didn't have a patch cable to try, so I restored him to 10.5 using Time Machine. His wireless went back to normal and is working fine. So he has my Christmas gift, but he can't use it.
I have seen some related experiences in this forum, but not quite the same. Anything I try will now need to be done remotely over iChat Screen Sharing, as he is 190 miles away. Thank you for any assistance.

Problem Solved..sort of. I was able to restore full connectivity by disabling the WEP encryption of the WIFI. This is very strange to me, prior to getting the ATV, WIFI was only rurned on for brief periods to allow my laptop to connect or when using a Sondigo wireless music bridge (great product BTW.) After enabling WEP I had no problems in connecting either the ATV or the Sondigo unit to the WIFI, there was however a problem with my laptop in that it showed a very solid connect to the WEP enabled network but I could not browse the internet. FWIW my router is a Linksys WRT54GX. Hopes this helps someone else

Lost Internet Connection After Watching iTunes video

I know my subject line is strange because one may have nothing to do with the other, but it describes what happened. I downloaded a few videos from iTunes and played them on a TV using the s-video out. I made some display adjustments and that was it. When I went to go back online I could not get onto the internet via Airport. I ran diagnostics and I had green lights up until the internet (red light-failed). I made no changes to my network configurations. OSX updated previously. (not sure which version because I am at work)
Troubleshooting Results:
-Power Mac desktop connected to internet with no problems.
-Powerbook directly connected to DSL modem via ethernet, web pages would not load, same diagnostic, internet failed.
-Restart Powerbook, network status says connected to internet via ethernet-green light, still web pages won't load, no message on Safari or Firefox browsers, just spinning
-Pinged network from utilities-ping successful
I'm running out of things to try. Any suggestions?

Lost internet connection while restoring iphone 4S from backup after iOS 6

Hi everyone..
I have just updated my iPhone 4S to iOS6 yesterday. It was iOS5.1.1 and was in jailbreak mode before the update.
I did sync my iphone and did the 'Backup' as well before the update by using my latest iTunes via my laptop.
The iOS6 update was successful.
However, the 'Restore from backup' failed.. many times!! Everytime I tried to Restore from backup, i lost internet connection towards the end of the 'restore in progress' process so it was never complete. I had to pull out the iphone cable or restart my pc every single time that happened. Because i cannot get an internet connection after that happened. I cannot connect to any wireless network, so I had to restart the pc!
(the iPhone says 'Restore complete' as soon as I pulled out the cable. But phone stays as NEW phone, none of my backup data was restored).
During the 'restore from backup' attempts (via iTunes 10.7 on laptop), I have tried:
- Restoring to factory settings first and then restore from backup = tried many times and still failed.
- Uninstalled Apple mobile device and iTunes and re-installed them = still failed.
- Switched OFF the phone and hold the Home button while connecting to the laptop. Restored to factory settings, then tried to restore from backup = still failed!!
- switching to different USB ports on my laptop including USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 = no luck, still failed.
NOTES:
-Laptop is on Windows 7 and have had NO such problems so far. I have been using iPhone since 3GS.
-Internet connection is via wireless router, steady connection.
-My 3GS was on jailbreak mode before. I bought iPhone 4S and successfully restored from my '3GS backup' without any problem.
-iTunes 10.7 installed/updated.

Nevermind.. I just found the solution to my problem.
I copied the Backup folder into my mate's laptop and did the 'Restore from backup'.
All is good now.. Only need to re-install my apps, soon after all will be back as per normal!

After update my phone lost internet connection. Everytime when I try to go to the internet my phone is connecting Vodafone Live, but after that always appears error - Web: connection time out.
I wanted setup internet settings here, but I see that Nokia doesn't do automatic setup anymore Hell, how it was helpful and handy!!!
I was also on my mobile provider's (Vodafone) website, but they doesn't have any manuals for this kind of Nokia like mine.
Do you have any suggestions what should I do?
My mobile model: Nokia E51
Provider: Vodafone (Ireland)

If you have done a full backup in PC Suite, then do a fresh Restore but this time uncheck the Settings options and just restore the others.
It is usual that settings may change after a firmware update.

Macbook pro with maverick 10.9.2 loses internet connection after waking from sleep

Recently installed maverick 10.9.2 on my macbook pro and have been experiencing lost internet connection (dsl connected via ethernet) after computer wakes from sleep. Any ideas?

I am on a MAC Pro desktop and I am having the same issues. I go to system preferences and just click the network icon. Then I close mail and when it opens it now sees the network. This is getting very annnoying.
