Lost iPhone - Can someone import its pictures?

Long story short, I have been using my girlfriends old iPhone that she no longer uses, just with wi-fi since I don't have a smart phone.
Because it has no cell reception, I didn't activate "Find my iPhone" because it would be virtually useless without cell reception.
I believe someone stole it, but what I was wondering is if they could access my photos and upload them to their computer? I know when I plug my iPhone into my computer it automatically brings an option up to import all photos. Will this happen if they plug the iPhone into their computer? Will they be able to import all of my stuff?

You mention the "iPhone app", do you mean the Find My iPhone app? If so, that does not turn on the service, instead that app is only used to find other lost devices (or test yours if not lost). You need to have turned on the Find My iPhone service in Settings>icloud.
Without the device on hand, you can search for it (assuming FMiP was turned on) by using a computer browser to log into icloud.com. In the Find My iPhone page, you can see if the map locates the device. HOWEVER, if you don't know the account that the lost device is connected to (the ID you would have to log in with using the browser), then you are out of luck. Only you can figure out the address, no one here can.
If you can log into icloud.com and the FMiP page does not list your device, then you are either using the wrong account or the device is not configured to use the FMiP service.

I talked to my friend today and he said that he was able to make his iPod Touch make a noise without the FindMyiPhone app installed. He used his dad's device and logged onto his iCloud account and made a noise.

Hi. I just lost my iPhone. It is still under warranty (10 months old) and also covered under Applecare Protection Plan.
I was wondering if the founder will be able to make sure of the warranty? And if yes, is there any way to stop it?

The thief can make use of the original warranty, as it is tied to the device, not the individual. AppleCare on your phone cannot be transferred to another iPhone. However, you can request a refund of the remaining unused portion. That would effectively cancel it, obviously. Contact AppleCare where you live for instructions on how to cancel & request a refund.

Hello, I am traveling in Thailand and lost my Iphone. I would like to buy a new one but am concerned that I can't use it without docking it to my computer which is back in the USA. I am currently not under contract with any carrier, so new one will be an Unlocked Thai one. Can I buy one in Thailand and still get new apps? Also, can I add music from a different computer then the one I registered it on? I have no timeline for returning home and kinda need my Iphone for all sorts of stuff!!! Thanks a lot!

To see which model you have go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac, then click on More Info (and then System Report if you’re running 10.7 Lion or 10.8 Mountain Lion). Rather than buying a MacBook Pro to replace your MacBook you can just get a bigger hard drive. You can get a 1tb drive for around $100 and they are easy to replace in a MacBook.

The only way to locate/disable/erase any lost/stolen iPhone is through Find My Phone or a similar app. However, this requires that Find My Phone be setup/activated, on your phone, before it was lost/stolen. You would then login at iCloud.com & try to locate it. This requires the phone be turned on & have an Internet connection. There is no other way to locate a lost/stolen iPhone. Apple can't/won't help you, nor will your carrier. Report the loss to the Police, your carrier & Insurance company. Change all of your passwords.

Like any other make of any other phone, they cannot permanently disable it.
The thief is responsible. Not Apple. You seem to be directing your anger at the wrong people.
No phone manufacturer will do this.

It mentions "loss" NOT theft. you cannot find a mention of theft protection. Find my iphone is NOT theft protection and has never been advertised as such.
