Lost iphone - retreving pictures
Can anyone please help me with this situation .....
Last night i lost my iphone, i had the find my iphone app but the phone must have been found and turned off as i could not locate it. So i took the decision to wipe the phone from my ipad thinking that all the data (especially pictures) were stored on icloud. I have tried to sync my ipad this morning something which i havnt done for some time believing my pictures from the icloud could be sent to my ipad but i have only retrieved about 40 pictures of 800+.
Is there a way of getting all my pictures back?

Pictures that you take with your iPad or iPhone are put into the photo stream, but there is a limit to the number that are saved. If you did sync your phone on a regular basis, then your photos should all be in iPhoto (or whatever app your photos are stored in on your computer). When you hook up your iPad, click on the photo tab, and make sure that all of the photos you want sync'd back to your iPad are checked. Then do the sync again....

Do you mean you had photostream off on the iPhone or the iPad?
Bottom line is you need a backup, somewhere - on your computer, in iCloud, somewhere. If those photo's were not backed up somewhere then they are gone. -
i connected my iphone 5 to my computer for the first time since i got it and it didnt give me any option and just started to restore it from my iphone 4s. ive now lost all my pictures that were on it. Can you try to use another computer?
If this does not work, visit an Apple Store or an Authorized Apple Service Provider next to your place, and show them the phone, maybe they can restore it before you'll have to get it serviced.
Did you try to put it in recovery mode?

Sync them back from whatever contact manager or cloud service you were syncing them with.

Please help.You can not put them back in the camera roll. The camera roll is temporary storage for new photos taken with the phone. You can sync them back to your phone in another album using iTunes.
As for whatsapp, ask the developer. That is not an Apple product. -

Yes, there are two utilities that I use to perform this task, SuperCrazyAwesome’s iPhone Backup Extractor which is a free utility, and addPod’s Juice Phone, also free. Neither solution will work if you have encrypted your backup files. Both allow you to access the backed up data as if the iPhone was connected to your Mac.

Omg:( kill me then. I store my photos in my laptop. But i reset my aunt's phone, and she doesnt have anything: no apple id, no icloud. Normally when i reset mine, my phone back up everything.

my pc crashed and i lost all my pictures and music that was stored on the pc. now i have a new pc and when i log into itunes all my music and photos are not available. I guess i dont understand the pupose of itunes and its worth. I thought it backed up all my photos and music, but apparently not. So what do I use so that when i lose data on my pc i can retrieve it again at a later date or after a crash?/
Your content will only be where you put it. It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer.
You can transfer itunes purchases from your iphone: File>Device>Transfer purchases.
You can import your pics taken with the iphone as you would with any digital camera.
You can e-mail the other pics to yourself, they will never be of the original quality.
You can out a unique contact and calendar entry on the computer. You should get the option to merge the data when you sync. -

Are you talking about restore of the iPhone from its backup, or something else? The first time you sync an iOS device on each calendar day iTunes will update the backup set for the device. If you remove data from the device and backup, then the backup of that data has gone. For this reason it actually makes sense to restore an iOS device periodically as, once used for a restore, the backup set is archived and a new one created.
Ideally you would have backed up these pictures somewhere. If you enabled it, you may find pictures in your Photo Stream.
In general you need to keep a backup copy of all your important files. iTunes will let you download most past purchases from the store but backing up other content is down to you. The user Backup your iTunes for Windows library with SyncToy suggests a way to do this for iTunes, but the same tool can be used to preserve other folders of data.

If you import your pics to your PC - you can use itunes to sync it back to your phone. -

Had Christmas pictures of family and friends. I'll be so sad if I can't them back.You should be importing all pics taken with the iphone to your computer regularly as you would with any digital camera, most especially before any update or restore.
If you failed to do this, then they are very likely gone.

Is Apple even close to a fix for the fix of the IOS 8.0.2. i have lost all my pictures, contacts and more particulary my ability to access wi-fi. I have switched to a Droid and not sure I would ever go back to an iPhone again.
I had the same issue until I updated my apps through iTunes. I had over 100 updates, but none of them showed on my iPod. After they updated everything started syncing like it is supposed. Go to the apps library and check for updates. After everything syncs leave your iPhone/ipod/ipad connected if the spinning arrows at the top is still spinning. It means that things are still being added. If you go to settings > general > about, you will see it loading songs, videos, photos, etc. If you back out of "about" and then go back to it you will see the numbers for each one change.

Why can't I view my icloud backups on a new apple device using the same icloud id? Unluckily I lost 4 iphones in 2 yrs. all had same icloud acct on them, so when i log on to locate my current iphone on my macbook or on new iphone, it shows a list of all the lost iphones and their data take up.
When i click on settings on my ios> go to icloud > storage & backup> manage storage:
LOST IPHONE 1- 4.5 GB DOCUMENTS & DATA : it shows PREVIEW 1.2 MB PAGES1.6 MB TEXT EDIT91.6 KB PHOTOS 3.2 GB
LOST IPHONE 2- 3.2 GB DOCUMENTS & DATA: it shows same thing just different gb's mb's kb's
LOST IPHONE 3- etc.......
but you can't click on those documents & data to show what exactly they are so you can move them or save and delete. If I go into icloud there's nothing there from that long ago. is that data deleted? if i were to get that certain iphone back and turn it on would the pics, docs still be in icloud? it says all that room in my icloud is still taken up so where can i view it?? anyone know??
THANK YOU!If you haven't already, you could force-quit Quicktime by using the menu option from the desktop (finder) and choose Quicktime.
Not sure what you have frozen on the screen, be it a failed movie, or some unusual screen shot. If you can find by date (created) you may be able to look for .mov or quicktime suffix name or other video file content to delete it.
And you may have to restart your computer and perhaps run repair disk permissions from Disk Utility's first aid on the hard disk drive in your computer.
Not sure if all that would help now, but it is something a few days late...!
