I had ordered a photo book print two years back. I want to reorder the same book again now. However, I have lost the album project/photos from iphoto.
Is there any way to see my print order history and reorder the same book for print ?

No.  Apple only keeps the pdf file for a book for 30 days.  Without the library and book project you won't be able to reorder the same book.
Even though the horse is out of the barn the following tutorial might be of help for future books, i.e. create a new library for each book): iP08 - Archiving an iPhoto Book for Editing and/or Ordering at a Later Date

  • I just upgraded to iPhoto '11.  When it was finished many pictures do not appear.  I have a black box but the information for the picture is still there.  Some are raw and some are jpeg.  Also lost all albums.  Can anyone offer assistance?

I just upgraded to iPhoto '11.  When it was finished many pictures do not appear.  I have a black box but the information for the picture is still there.  Some are raw and some are jpeg.  Also lost all albums.  Can anyone offer assistance?  Using iOS 10.7.5

Apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
2 - run Option #4 to rebuild the database.
    Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button and select the library you want to add in the selection window..
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the Library ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.
4 - In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments.  However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

  • Lost my iPhoto Albums (MY LIFE) How do I get them back?

Downloaded the latest OS X 10.9.4 Mavericks and lost my iPhoto Albums (MY LIFE) How do I get them back?

Can you explain in a little more detail.
Two things can and have happened that might help.
    1) iPhoto needs to be updated. Go to the App Store, Updates, and update iPhoto.
    2) You created a new account and logged into that. Log out, then see if your old account is there.

  • IPhoto albums and folders lost after transfer of library to new Mac

After transferring iPhoto library from old Mac Book Pro (running OS X 10.8.5, iPhoto 08 7.1.5) to new Mac Book Pro (OSX 10.9.1, iPhoto 9.5) all of the albums and folders from the old library have been lost and photos are just listed as events. It would take a long time to rearrange all the photos into the original albums and folders. Apple one -to -one sessions in store x2 unable to solve just said that the old library must be corrupted
I still have the old photo album arranged in albums and folders on the old Mac.
I also have iPhoto buddy installed on old Mac and have tried transferring to new Mac with and without iPhoto installed but either way albums and folders were lost.
    Does anyone have any ideas?
Would upgrading old Mac Book Pro to Mavericks and then upgrading iPhoto before transferring the library be a solution?

I tried again with iPhoto updater and this time it worked on 2 of my 3 libraries so the albums and folders were preserved. I also had not realised  that iPhoto updater needed to be opened from Utilities folder nad had thought it would work automatically once downloaded (one -to -one in store trainer had not realised this either).
I then remembered that there was one .mov file shot on my " still "digital camera in an iPhoto album. Once I removed this iPhoto updater worked on the 3rd library so old folders and albums preserved.
Even then there was one small folder of images which  has not transfered via Target mode. For unknown reasons when I transferred these images from camera to old MCP they were jumbled and not in normal date order. I will try transferring these images to new MBP on a memory stick.
Thanks for persuading me to persist

  • HT4927 I lost all my iPhoto albums today

I have no idea what happened.  I made no errors, and I rebooted my iMac to make sure.  Has anyone else lost their albums?  The actual pictures still appear to be there and so are the events.

If the left hand pane with the album is missing and you have problems dragging the source pane to the left as Larry suggested
delete the iPhoto Preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist that resided in your Users/Home/Library/Preferences folder. Then launch iPhoto and it should appear.
NOTE: In Lion and Mountain Lion the Home/Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.  Then you'll be able to find and delete the preference file.

  • Just did a clean install, realized I lost my iPhoto album in the process...

I went to Japan 2 years ago and I took a ton of picture. It was the only album I had in iPhoto. I installed Leopard the other night and it gave me that DivX error and I couldn't fix it. So I wiped my iBook clean and it runs like a charm now. I don't miss anything else I wiped except for that iPhoto album of pictures from Japan. Is there any way to get it back?

Unfortunately not. The Leopard install has no doubt overwritten enough sectors of that disk to make a recovery incredibly difficult, if possible at all.
You may want to consider splitting your hard disk (if you only have one) into 2 partitions. Use one for the OS and another for Users to avoid losing personal data in the future due to an OS reinstall.
I've wiped disks before thinking I had everything I needed, only to discover gigabytes of stuff missing. Not a nice experience.

  • Screen saver from an iPhoto album?

    Hi,
Before upgrading to Snow Leopard, I used to have a screen saver (which came pre-installed with leopard) that simply rotated through the pictures in an iPhoto album. After upgrading, whenever the screen saver activated, I would get a black screen with an error message. Has this functionality been lost in Snow Leopard???
    Thanks,
    Mike

Nevermind, it just takes a very long time to populate the list!

  • IPhoto Album updating iWeb Album page

OK .. I'm lost! I created an iWeb Album page and a new matching iPhoto album to put the photos in. Now I've added new photos to the iPhoto album and they don't show up in iWeb. There is a lot of work on the iWeb page with a lot of descriptions etc and I don't want to have to delete the page and drag in the new updated album. What am I missing? How to I sync any newly added pictures in the iPhoto album with the iWeb album?
    Thanks...

The iWeb pages don't automatically update like iPhoto Web Galleries do. You will have to add the new photos to the iWeb photo page and republish that page.
If you were using a iPhoto Web Gallery in an iWeb page then all you would have to do is click on the publish button in iPhoto and the gallery would be updated when accessed via iWeb.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

  • Screen Saver Preference Does Not Include iPhoto Albums

In addition to the second monitor problem discussed in other postings, I have also lost the ability to select iPhoto albums for my screen saver. The last entry in the Screen Saver list (in Preferences) is Aperture - not iPhoto albums. I am still using iPhoto 08 (v7.5.1). Any assistance is appreciated.

You could try moving the two com.apple.screensaverXXXXX.plist files from the Users/yourusername/Library/Preferences/ByHost folder to the desktop. You might as well move the com.apple.iphotomosaic.plist while you’re at it. Those files each will have a long string of randomly generated hexidecimal characters in the name before the .plist extension. The Screen Saver will generate new .plist files when you go to the Desktop & Screen Saver pane in System Preferences. I don’t think you need to restart after moving the files, but it couldn’t hurt.
Otherwise, you should continue working with Terence Devlin in the iPhoto forum. He is a genius with iPhoto related issues and has helped solve such problems for me previously.

  • Iphoto albums have disappeared

Somehow I have lost several albums from iPhoto on my Macbook. But these albums are still showing up on my iPad although I can't import the photos because they were originally taken with a camera.
I therefore wondered if there was any way to copy the albums back from my iPad to my Macbook, as the sync option in iTunes seems only for copying from iPhoto to my iPad and not the other way around
Any assistance would be very much appreciated
    Many thanks in advance
    Bernard

If the photos are not visible in the library nor their thumbnails try this:
Start over from scratch with new library
Start over with a new library and import the  the Masters (iPhoto 11) folder from your original library as follows:
    1. Move the existing library folder to the desktop.
    2. Open the library package like this.
    3. Launch iPhoto and, when asked, select the option to create a new library.
    4. Drag the Masters (iPhoto 11) folder from the open iPhoto Library package on the desktop into the open iPhoto window.
This will create a new library with the same Events as the original library but will not keep the metadata, albums, books slideshows and other projects. Check to see if the missing Events are there. If not then you can delete the new library and revert back to your current library which will be untouched or changed in the process.
I forgot to ask if you have a backup of the library from before this problem started?  If so bring it back and open with iPhoto and let iPhoto rebuild it to the latest version as required.

  • HT204266 I lost iphoto while doing an erase and reload,  I just had to buy it again?

    Hi
While doing a 'wipe and reload' as advised by a genius at Southampton Store,  I managed to lose a whole raft of stuff because my back up to time capsule decided it didnt want to let me restore.  I have recovered most of the stuff but seem to have lost iphoto.  It was very important to me so I went online and bought it again.   I believe that as I had it already, that I should have been able to reload it without paying. Is there any way I can obtain a refund please?
Next question:   all the same applies to iWeb as well and I am trying to find it online, but the Apple site seems to have everything related to iWeb but not the actual program.
I really do need to recover these two programs.   I have iphoto (big relief)  and just would like to get my pennies back, and I believe it is probably only my own lack of knowledge that is preventing me from finding iWeb to download.  Previous advice gratefully received told me not to download from any other sites, so that is a rule I am following.
Any advice most gratefully received please
    Many thanks
    Steve

You did not initially purchase it. Pre-order in iTunes means that they are reserving the content for you at that price. The link below is an article on how pre-orders work with iTunes. When you pre- order an album in iTunes it just means its reserving it at that price, since the price may change. When the album is available and released, iTunes will automatically download it should you have enough store credit on the account or a valid credit card on the account.

  • Why don't all iPhoto albums appear in iTunes so I can download them to ipad

Why don't my iPhoto albums appear in iTunes not all of them and not complete so I can download them to iPad or iPhone.  Only some of them transfer over to iTunes.

After a good hour, finally sorted it out thanks to this
Q: When I first had iTunes move my ebooks to the new iBooks app in Mavericks, many of my books didn’t get transferred. How can I get these books back? Are they lost forever?
There was a bug in the first version of the iBooks app that prevented it from moving all the books in the iTunes library to the new app. In my library, only two books didn’t get moved, but I’ve heard from people who lost dozens or even hundreds of books.
These books should still be on your computer. If you haven’t done so, open the App Store app, click Updates, and download the iBooks 1.0.1 update. Launch iBooks, then choose File > Move Books from iTunes. This should move the remaining books to iBooks.

PS Might require a restart of iTunes .... but it works !!!!

  • IPhoto albums missing

After no space on start disk, restart and empting trash all albums but the last one created are gone.
The events are there, but all albums missing.
    Please help,
    Lior

One response given by Terence to the missing iPhoto album problem was that there was insufficient space on the hard drive and the library was subsequently damaged. However, I have 490 gb on my hard drive and I've just lost all of my albums in iPhoto '11.  All pics and events are available.  I was all ready to say that this is not the problem and was preparing myself for psychological devastation because I lost all of those carefully constructed albums.
However, I figured out the real problem--at least in my case.  For some reason, the albums were just hidden from my view.  I just accidentally discovered that when I hovered over the word "Albums" in my iPhoto library view, a link that said "show" popped up to the right.  All I had to do was to select "show" and--poof--all of my albums were visible again.  (No psychological devastation now necessary!)  I don't know how this got changed because I've never intentionally selected "hide."  Nonetheless, this might be the problem for others as well.
