Lost ipod and got a new computer

is there any way i can get my music and app i purchased and put it on a new ipod if i lost my old one and got a new computer?

Yes, but you wouldn't have sold the backup copy of your old computer.
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer files/docs/pics/music/etc.

  • Transferring ipod and itunes to new computer

I just got a new computer and downloaded itunes. When I plugged my ipod in, my library showed up but the screen was gray and I couldn't select anything. Any suggestions on how to transfer?

Well... if you want to take all your music with you... to a new computer, you can enable your iPod to support Disk Use (support files) and then locate the "iTunes Music" folder that has all your music (under My Docs) and just Copy the file, or drag the file onto your iPod then plug your iPod into your new pc, and open the iPod in My Computer and drag the file off your iPod to My Docs again (on your new pc) or wherever you want it stored.

I do not have my old computer and i want to take music on ipod and add to new computer

You cannot transfer song files from iPod to computer using iTunes (except for songs purchased from the iTunes Store).  However, there are third-party methods and utilities that can transfer from iPod to computer.  If you do a Google search on something like "ipod transfer," you should get some links.
NOTE:  Previous purchases from the iTunes Store can be re-downloaded at no cost from the iTunes Store Purchased screen.

  • I have an iPod Touch and got a new computer; iTunes is installed, but won't sync with my iPod properly.

I am running the new computer under Windows 7, and have tried to sync my iPod.  It uploaded the photos and videos from the iPod, but won't upload the apps or music.  The iPod is also not downloading the new music on the iTunes.  How can I sync what I have on the iPod to the computer, without losing the settings, apps and music already there?

new one wont receive my playlists from my library. what am i doing wrong? It looks like they are synched and i have the latest version of itunes on both but the only way to access my music is through the store

    See:
Syncing to a "New" Computer or replacing a "crashed" Hard Drive: Apple Support Communities
If all your synced media like apps and music is in your iTunes library then simply:
    - Backup to iTunes.
    - Restore the iPod from that backup.

  • IPod and iPad sync new computer

I have the original iPad and a touch. Desktop recently crashed, no backup. When I sync for first time w new computer, can data be transferred to iTunes from pad/pod? Or have I lost everything?

iTunes includes an option to transfer iTunes content that was purchased/downloaded from the iTunes store from an iDevice, but this is for iTunes content that was purchased/downloaded from the iTunes store only.
First you need to authorize your new computer with your iTunes account with iTunes if you haven't already done so. With the iPad connected and without syncing, at the iTunes menu bar go to File and select Transfer Purcahses From - the name of your iPad. Repeat the same for your iPod unless the iTunes content on each device that was purchased/downloaded from the iTunes store is identical.
For iTunes content that was not purchased from the iTunes store and for photos transferred from your computer, if you have a Mac you can use this 3rd party utility to transfer this content in the opposite direction.
    http://www.ecamm.com/mac/phoneview/
Photos transferred from your computer to your iPad are optimized for viewing on your iPad as part of the iTunes transfer process - the original resolution of these photos is reduced depending on the resolution of the photos on your computer. The resolution will be lost when transferring these photos in the opposite direction which is why this is not supported via the iTunes transfer process. Photos on your computer should be included with your computer's backup along with your iTunes library and all other important data. An iDevice is not designed or intended to be used as a backup storage device.

  • Problem syncing ipod and itunes on new computer

I just got a MacBook Pro from my dad. I plugged my iPod into the new computer and replaced his library on the computer with mine. Now, every time I purchase new songs on iTunes on the computer and then sync my iPod, the purchased songs don't sync on the iPod. It says it's syncing, but the new songs aren't on the ipod. I also have my entire iTunes library still on my old PC (which I still have). What do I need to do to ensure my library is up to date on my MacBook and that the newly purchased songs (on the mac) will sync to my iPod?

    Hi!
It sounds like the songs might have been purchased under your dad's account and therefore won't sync to your library. The iTunes application itself can have many different users, each having their own account. If you have your own home drive and set up your library there, but opened iTunes with your Dad's account set up, the application would not have known to change users on its own.
I would double check to see under whose account the songs were purchased.

  • HT201272 I am trying to recover my aunts audio books for i tunes. We registered her new ipod and authorized her new computer, but in the purchased menu it is not showing the audio books. Any suggestions? Customer service support is not working for me.

Can somebody please help me. I am trying to recover my aunts audio books that she has purchased. I have authorized her new computer and registered her new ipod. There is no option for audio books under purchased and itunes is telling me there are no available downloads. She has purchased several audio books in the last two years.

thank-you! yeah, i cant see going to 64.  as it stood sound quality was dodgy. good on some stuff, great on others, and terrible on a few. i have some great news...my ipod is not showing up in itunes.   again. i give up. it has music on it. its full to the tippy top. i fooled around with some of the things the trouble shooter wizard thing suggested last night for hours. didnt fix it. after awhile i was just going in circles. i will just live with the thing the way it is. but i will say one thing; after reading some of the posted issues other folks are having i'm just glad i didnt put everything in the cloud....peace

  • Wirelss G Broadband Router - Moved and got a new computer. Need to set it up but..

I have a Wireless G Broadband Router. I have moved, I also have a new laptop and don't have access to the old one any longer. To make it even more challenging I have packed away the old password and login information in a storage unit I can not access. Trying to get the router set up again so I can work and my husband can work. HELP!. I run the steps and it goes fine until the Step 4/4 which says plug the wirless router cord into the electrical outlet on the wall..then it says waiting for router. During this time my computer bounces from internet access to no internet access to internet access and back again. then says it failed. Says the it appears that the ethernet is not connected properly.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

This is how to access what I like to call the GUI: Access GUI
This is how you'll change the name and password of the wireless network: Wireless Setup
And this is how you change the default password used to access the router's GUI: Change GUI Password
I highly recommend WPA2 personal security for the wireless network, NOT the insecure WEP.

So I had an ipod touch, got a lot of my music from my old CD's that i later threw away, then got a new computer and lost all my music on my itunes, but still have it all on my itouch. I just simply want to get my music from my itouch to my computer. I now have a iphone and it would be nice to put some of that music on my phone as well.
    Hope someone can help me!!!
    thanks,
    Sophia

While that may work9I do not think it will) with iTunes purchased music it will not work for other music.
    - Transfer iTunes purchases by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer
    - For other music you will need a third-party program like one of those discussed here.
    Copy music
