Lost Ipod, but I have mac ID.

Hi,
I lost my ipod, but I have its mac ID. How can I locate it if it is used by another person connected to internet?
Thanks
Prabha

- If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
- You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have the iPod play a sound via iCloud.
- If not shown, then you will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.
- Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
- There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it.
- Apple will do nothing without a court order

What can you do if you sent a message, alert and lock mode already on your lost ipod but it doesn't recieve???? What else can I do??? I already reported it and also have the find my iPhone app. Anyways how do the police locate an iPod and does warranty cover a lost ipod or can it replace it????

You would have to ask the Police how they can find your iPod, if it's even possible.  Your warranty with Apple covers defects in materials and workmanship, not loss.

Because you can only synce with one iTunes library and you are switching libries by using the new computer. To nake this yyour syncing computer:
    - Move all the media(apps, music, synced video and photos etc) to the new computer.
    - Connect the iPofd yo the computer and bake a backup fo the iPod by right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up
    - Restore the iPod from that backup.
Note that the backup that iTunes makes doe not include media.
To move mdia to the new computer see:

  • We use Embarqmail from CenturyLink on our home computer.  We can get to our email on our iPod, but we have trouble opening the mail.   When we tap on an email, sometimes they open; most often they don't.  Is there a solution?

Try a reset by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.

  • Lost iphone but dont have find my iphone

what should i do.  i lost my phone but dony have find my iphone

All you can do is report the loss and IMEI number to your carrier in the hopes they will block if from the system.
There is nothing anyone can do to help find it.  Apple will not get involved.

  • I want to buy an iPod, but I have no Credit Card.

I want to buy this iPod Nano from the apple store, but I have noe Credit Card.
It says I can pay via bank transfer, but I have to do it beforehand.
Furthermore I have to put a number they will give me, when I successfully ordered it, into the transfer information.
But how am I supposed to get this number, when they only accept credit cards for ordering?

Your best shot it to go to an actual apple store, and to pay in person with cash. You could also go to most stores and pick up a gift card from one of the major companies, like American express.

Only the old fashioned way, like if you lost your wallet.

  • I recently bought a new macbook air and I tried to get my music from my iPod, but instead my mac deleted all my songs from my iPod, and I can't get it back. What am I suppose to do?

I had a bunch of songs from my itunes on my older laptop, and it was no problem to get the songs on my iPod. Now with my mac, I am facing too much problems with getting all my music to my ipod from my itunes. I lost all my songs, and the recent ones still won't sync. Its either I have the songs on my ipod and it can't play on my itunes or vice versa. I feel as though my investment in Apple was a big mistake. I'm having too much problems with it.

You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
When you change syncing computers you have to/should have done this:
Syncing to a "New" Computer or replacing a "crashed" Hard Drive: Apple Support Communities

  • I can not log on to my itunes account on my second generation ipod but I have no problem with the log on with my ipad.  The password doesn't work on the ipod touch.  Thoughts???

Trouble connecting to itunes store with my password on my ipod touch (2nd generation) but using the same apple id and password on my ipad2 I don't have a problem connecting to the store.
    Need troubleshooting

I have the same thing, same issues.  Just came from Colorado using my iPad extensively with no problems.
Get back home, there is an update on my home computer for Airport Extreme to 7.5.2 which I updated.  Also updates for iPad for 4.3.4 and now last night 4.3.5.
Still does not work.  I have not taken the iPad to another network locally, but my understanding is that it is not a problem with the iPad but with Airport Extreme's update. I have done all the resets, restarts, and turning on and off Wifi on the iPad and that does not work.
I would have to assume Apple is working on it.  Very frustrating since I am on my Mac Pro, iPhone 4, and other things and no problem.

  • New computer only syncs itunes music from ipod but i have other songs not purchased from itunes that does not show up in new computer

i used to have 900+ songs stored on my HP laptop, which i can no longer use and bought new toshiba laptop. when i tried to synce 900 songs from iPOD to the toshiba it only gave me 330 songs and not the entire library stored on the iPOD. have tried sync from iCLOUD as well as importing & exporting songs as shown in the drop down menu from iTUNES, but unable to do the sync process successfully!? do i have to manually reload every song i have already burned to CD onto new toshiba? am i or did i already do something wrong to prevent what should have been an easy sync?? am retired and techno-challenged. really need clear to follow instructions. any help will be more than greatly appreciated...

You can only sync with one computer/iTunes library. To make the new computer the syncing computer:
Syncing to a "New" Computer or replacing a "crashed" Hard Drive: Apple Support Communities

  • LOVE my video iPod, but I have a question on battery life

I just received my iPod yesterday, and I already have my entire music library on it as well as 3 movies and I must say I am amazed...
One question though, after watching "Stealth" for about 20 minutes, the battery appears to be halfway drained. Is this normal? How much battery life can you expect to get if you use it for watching a movie? One of the reasons I got the iPod video was for watching movies while on plane rides / long road trips etc, but it looks like the battery may not even last through an entire movie.
I did buy one of those external battery pack things last night which will help immensely on the road, but just curious on how far I can get watching a movie without any external devices?
Also, when using the videora, which is better, 6 channel AC3 or 6 channel DTS?

ilounge.com has a good article on battery life.
    http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/reviews/comments/apple-computer-ipod-5g-with-vi deo-30gb-60gb-ipod/
I've also heard the meter will change and reflect battery life based on what function is currently being used. So, after watching a lengthy video it may be red but if you switch to music it turns green because the current function uses less battery life per min/hour of use than videos do.

  • Someone on my school bus got my ipod, but i have find my ipod app. turned on but i don't know how to use it .. could someone tell me how i can locate it or what i need to do to locate it?
