Lost iPod download

Have just downloaded iPod (Nano 5G) software update, but made the mistake of saving it rather than running it on download. Now I can't find the download (it's not in the Apple SW Download file location) and all the items in the Temp folder have encrypted titles, so can't find it there either. Now, of course, the Apple updater does not offer the update, since it thinks I've already got it! The Support pages appear pretty unhelpful. Can anyone advise me how either to recognise the downloaded file, or where/how to download it again?

Just open iTunes, connect the iPod and you should be offered the update again as it checks what is on the iPod NOT what you might have downloaded.

Have lost ipod for windows software disk

Hi I have just updated my computer and I seem to have lost the disk which came with my ipod (ipod for windows software 1.0). Does anyone know where I can download this so I can transfer my music to my ipod?

If you restore via iTunes all your synced media has to be in the iTunes library since the backup does not include synced media. Restoring from the iCloud backup will also restore iTunes purchases.

I lost my ipod touch and no longer have the computer with the itunes account that was attached to it. I bought a new iphone and would like to download all of my old apps and music that I had on my lost ipod touch. Any idea's??

Thge 2G iPod can only go to iOS 4.2.1. Many apps not require iOS 4.3 or later.

A 2G to 4.2.1. Requires iTunes version 10.X. If a Mac you need OSX 10.5.8 or later. With 1OSX 10.4.11 you can only go to iTunes 9.X which gets you as high as iOS 4.1

Hello everyone. A lost ipod is not that significant a problem in the context of this world, but has anyone developed a way to locate a lost ipod?
This is the second lost on or around BART in SF. I've contacted them in the past and will again in the future. But it is the person who will pick up that wonderful instrument I listened to in love, difficulty, and fun really know how important that small item is in my life?
Personal playlists, personal videos, yes, a record of my life, that was my ipod.
A reward for my iphone brought it back, but an ipod?

Compatible for iPod Touch 3G or better, iPhone 3s or better, iPad 3 or better working on iOS 5 or better. This app is optimized for iPhone 5. Plus you need iCloud.... (not sure how to set it up)..... unless you have iCloud set up to your devices running iOS 5 or better, there is no chance to find, track, or locate your iDevices (will NOT work on Nano, Classic, Shuffle, Mini, iPod Touch 1st Gen or iPod Touch 2nd Gen)..... change any passwords used on that iDevices and report to the police. Apple won't do anything.

If the devices was RESTORED there is nothing you can do.
As for tracking the device you have to use the Find My iPhone app on a different iOS (if your devices doesn't have the app no problem, you just need icloud)..... it will attempt to find the device or either lost or got stolen. For iPod Touch it needs to be connected with Wi-Fi in order to work.
Plus with iCloud, you should be able to delete any data on that devices (even if stolen)..... again if they restore the device..... ALL DATA is deleted and you can't find it. It will be removed from iCloud.

No it wont have any effect in Finding your iPod. You must have an iCloud account in your iPod in order to use Find my iPhone.

- If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
- You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have to iPod play a sound via iCloud.

I had my ipod before I got on the bus this morning, it was in my pocket. I sat down on the bus, and I didn't take it out of my pocket, there was someone sitting next to me, but she couldn't have taken it out of my pocket because of the way she was sitting. Sort of if you can get hold of the iPod before it is erased, turn wifi off, then backup the iPod, turn wifi on and let it erase. Then restore from backup.

Not unless you installed and activated fiond my iod on the ipod BEFORE it was lost AND it is on AND it is connected to wi-fi, THEN you may be able to get an approximate street address.
If it has facetime, then you could call it and listen for the ring.

There is really nothing special you can do not. The battery would be dead by no so you could not find it via iCloud.
Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police.
Apple will not do anything.

Someone may be able to get data off the iPod.
If you want the data the best method is to restore another iPod touch, iPhone or iPad from the backup of your stolen iPod. The iOS version on the stolen iPod has to equal to or less than the version on the other devices.
You can also get some data from the iPod backup that iTunes makes

Your Downloads folder should be in your Home folder. Just drag it to the Dock.
If you've managed to delete it, try creating a new folder called 'Downloads'. You will probably need to nominate it in Safari or any other browser preferences as your download destination. (Safari Preferences>General, 'Save downloaded items to:' menu)
