Lost Ipod summary page after 7.3.1 upgrade

I can see the folder list but I can't see the ipod summary page for my Nano.
I can't re-install or uninstall itunes.
I removed quicktime, but I don't have windows utility clean up, and I keep getting itunes.msi path not found message when I try to reinstall or uninstall itunes.

Install and then run the utility. Find any iTunes entries in the list of programs in CleanUp. select each iTunes entry and click remove.
Next, use the the following document as a guide for manual removal of leftover iTunes and QuickTime program files:

Now try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

Once the iPod is connected to iTunes, click on the iPod icon (not on the eject part though):

I have been using my 64Gb touch for a few days now (iTunes 9 windows xp). Today I plug it in to sync it and I get no iPod summary tab on the left of itunes.
All I get is my ipods name, a charging icon and the eject icon.
When I click on my ipod in the main pane it just says "iPod" in big letters.
Can anyone help me figure this out? Its Kind of frustrating

Ok so I got the summary page to come up and I was able to sync my iPod.
The solution, I unplugged my network cable. I was able to manage my iPod because the summary page came up. Now it appears that even with my network cable plugged in it is all back working again.

X crashes with YouTube video pages after xf86-video-intel upgrade

X crashes when trying to view a YouTube video page after the last xf86-video-intel upgrade. I think it happens with other websites as well but most of them work just fine. If I downgrade xf86-video-intel to the previous version the problem is gone.

TS1363 Is anyone else suddenly getting this problem on both iPod & iPad immediately after downloading the last upgrade to iTunes 10.6.1.7?

Is anyone else suddenly finding that iTunes is not recognising both iPad & iPod when trying to sync via a PC AND that this problem started immediately after downloading the last upgrade to iTunes 10.6.1.7 to said PC? Im loathed to waste time following the recommended steps on the Apple help site to find that the problem is the new iTunes version.

Recover lost photos and videos after 7.1.1 upgrade fail

Hi,
I updated my Ipad mini this morning to 7.1.1, and after it failed to update, I tried to install again, after which it went into recovery mode. It looks like the last successful cloud backup was 6 months ago, so I have lost 6 months of photos and videos of my young baby.
Photo stream was turned on, so my question is - can I recover the lost photos/videos from photostream somehow?
Some feedback for Apple: fix your upgrade process, and if there is even an outside possibility that it will remove all my photos and videos as part of the update, make doing a full backup before the update mandatory.

Thanks for this! I've found and saved the file as you explained, and I've downloaded the software, however I can't see how I upload teh file into touchcopy - can you help? I've tried right clicking on the file, open with and choose touchcopy, but it just keeps looking for my iphone. Thanks!

IPod Touch reseting after iOS 4.0 upgrade

I upgraded my 32GB iPod touch Monday and noticed that if I am playing music and the screen has locked, sometimes I have to reset the iPod to get it to turn back on. So far it has happened about 5 times in the last 3 days, usually after listening to a longer podcast and then waiting 5-10 minutes before moving to something else. Is this a problem with the screen lock function, the home button, or some other issue? Obviously the home button functions, since you have to hold it down to do the reset and I can do that just fine, but could it be unresponsive for some reason after the screen lock function kicks in? Am I hitting the wrong button now to get the iPod screen to turn back on after the OS update? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Using your wife's laptop, you can do the 3.0 upgrade, provided she has iTunes 8.2. You'll need to copy the update from your machine to her laptop. The update on your machine should be located at C:\Documents and Settings\(account name)\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPod Software Updates. The file name is iPod2,13.0_7A341Restore.ipsw You'll need to add the folder \iPod Software Updates to her laptop if it doesn't exist, then copy the update into it. You can then do a restore and it will load 3.0. From there, you can connect to your machine and sync your stuff back.

Ipod Not Recognized After iTunes 7.0 Upgrade

My 5th generation iPod was synching just fine with iTunes 6.0.5. Then, I upgraded to 7.0 and it's no longer recognized, though Windows sees the device just fine. I followed the troubleshooting steps at article 93716 (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93716), to no avail. I uninstalled and reinstalled. No luck. What a mistake, and my 90 of "complimentary" support ended a couple days ago.
I have a reasonably powerful system with adequate resources (1 GB RAM, 2.53 GHz, 120 GB storage - 50% free) and very few other services being loaded - only the basics. I installed with Antivirus, Firewall, Antispyware off.
So now I only have two choices - restore an earlier disk image backup, or reinstall from the original disk.
Any other ideas?

Lost my USB connections after 10.4.11 upgrade

Quite frustrating this. When I went through the 10.4.9 to .10 I lost the ability to access my external HD for some reason. Through these very useful discussions I got that back by using Pacifist and something else I can't remember - but pretty much by reinstalling the drivers from .9
I should have figured something would go wrong with the recent upgrade to .11, but it's worse this time. Now I can't access my printer or my scanner or my external HD. At first I thought my USB hub (Belkin 7-way) was playing up, but I don't think so now - it loads memory sticks across each port ok.
I've tried resetting with just the keyboard, mouse and printer plugged in, but no joy. Same with scanner. Still no luck with alternative leads.
On System Profiler I can see the printer and scanners connected, but however I try to get them to do anything, I get messages saying they're not connected.
Any help much appreciated!

If I understand correctly, you're booting your iMac in Tiger from the external (Seagate) HD using Firewire, not USB.
If that is correct, how was OS X Tiger installed onto the external HD? (If your issue involves Leopard, I'm not yet using it, therefore this entire post might not apply.)
It would have have been necessary to have cloned ("restored" via Disk Utility located on the original Install DVD, while booted from the Install DVD) (or cloned via SuperDuper, CCC, or some other) OS X from the iMac's internal HD onto the external HD. The external Seagate should have first been formatted by Disk Utility located either on the iMac or on the Install DVD. Use "Options" button on Disk Utility's "Erase" panel to zero the Seagate prior to format would be best.
Performing all subsequent Software Updates upon the cloned OS X will have to be done while the iMac is booted from the Seagate. Or optionally, the cloning of the entire iMac internal HD could be repeated at will at any time after updated, or could be incrementally updated from the internal by using other than Disk Utility (such as above mentioned SuperDuper or CCC).
HTH. Never having used Boot Camp, I'm sorry to say I don't know what to say about that part of the issue.

I got a weird message on my pages after I did the upgrade...

after I updated my macbook the pages app started bouncing and started up all by itself; then i had a green bar that popped up with the words "you can screw me now" why did this happen, what does it mean... i looked over my computer and didn't notice anything different

Before the software update, I couldnt configure the email, but after I did, now I lost, all the apps installed in my phone..
I hope I should have done the backup.. Among that apps, I believe oxford was useful for me...

here are some links, now i don't know if this is what you are looking for or if they are free. and yes you have to reinstall yours apps unless you did a back up which you did not. reinstall nokia maps, share online and such you can find it either here

Lost recognition of 512MB after 10.4.7 upgrade

Immediately after installing the 10.4.7 upgrade, my Powerbook no longer recognizes one of my 512 MB of RAM. System Profiler show one however it shows that the second slot is EMPTY!?! Is anyone else having this problem?? How can I fix it so I can get all 1.25GB of memory recognized again?!?!

IPod Music Gone After 10.6.5 Upgrade

I ran the upgrade last night, but got an error at the end. Looking at About, am on 10.6.5. I went into iTunes and watched it remove music from my iPod. Resynching wouldn't restore the music (Synch was in 4 steps, believe it used to be 5). Restored the iPod, but still no music.
Any one else seeing this trouble? How can I rerun the update to try and clear the issue?

Thanks all for stepping in with suggestions. During the various reboots and installs, iTunes finally gave a warning that no songs were selected. Selecting all got music resynching.
During the 10.6.5 upgrade I received an error message and during restore of iPod that too got an error message. Not sure where or why the music was unselected and removed from the iPod... but seems to be working now.
