Lost iPod Touch 4th Generation

Last year I got in trouble and my dad hid my iPod touch 4th generation. He turned it completely off, and put it somewhere. Now he does not know where he put it. I have tried looking on Find My iPhone, but it said it couldn't do anything until it was connected to Internet. Me and my dad have looked everywhere. Is there any way I can try to find it? Please help me. :(

Hi lucas,
Sorry, but unless the device is turned on and connected to Wifi, you will not be able to locate it using Find My iPhone. All you can do is to continue to look for it.
Sorry,

  • How can i recover my lost ipod touch 4th generation even if the battery is dead?

It has been almost a month now that ive lost my ipod touch 4th generation, ive looked everywhere and cant seem to find if, i dont have the serial number, and when i go into the locate my iphone on the apple store, it doesnt work because my batery is dead, and if noone ever finds it, he cant conect it to power suply and conect it to the internet...

Change your iTunes (Apple ID) password along with any other password that was stored in the iPod.  If any passwords are associated with credit cards, contact the CC company and get your card replaced (with a new number).  If any passwords are associated with a bank or any other savings institution, contact them also and discuss approprate action with them.
The "Find my..." function is pretty much useless if the device is in the hands of a thief.  All that is necessary is for the thief to connect to any computer with iTunes and "Restore as new."
The only real protection you have is with the personal information on the device rather than the physical device itself.  This requires action before the device is lost/stolen.  If the device has significant personal information, it should have a strong 8-digit (or longer) password AND be configured for automatic wipe in the event of ten consecutive incorrect password entries.

  • Is there any way to retrieve pictures from a lost iPod touch (4th generation)?

I lost my iPod awhile back and it had some really important photos on it. It recently has been bugging me a lot and can't seem to find anything to solve my problem.

  • Lost iPod touch 4th generation: Finding with "Find My iPod"

Hello, I lost my iPod touch.  I know that it is in my house somewhere but I can't seem to find it.  I do know that it is turned off.  Is there a way to find my iPod using the "MobileMe" application?  I don't have the app installed on my iPod, but I did before.  When I go to iCloud.com to use the "Find My iPod" it shows my iPod touch as being "offline".

If it is shown as off-line there is nothing you can do to use the FindMyiPod feature.  However, you can try to make the iPod to play a sound by calling it with FaceTime, Skyype (if uses) or another app that will play a notification sound.

  • How do you find your lost ipod touch 4th generation?

Can you use the serial number to find it?

The SN will only idenify the iPod when it is found. Unless you had already set up the FindMyiPod feature, wifi is on and some other conditions are met, you look for it like any "dumb" device like a shoe.

    - If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
    - You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have to iPod play a sound via iCloud.
    - Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
    - There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it.

  • IPod touch 4th generation lost all data after updating to iOS 5.0

I recently updated my iPod touch 4th generation from iOS 4.3 to iOS 5.0. However, when I went to access my iPod touch, all the app data was gone. My spending app was blank, my game stats were gone, and everything was lost.

Try to restore from the latest backup taken before the update.
Apps can be downloaded again for free: Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

  • My ipod touch 4th generation wont play music

My ipod touch 4th generation wont play music. I hit the play button and it turns into a pause button but the music does not play and the song length thing stays at 0:00. It is brand new and has not been damaged. No songs are greyed out. Certain songs play but most dont. Please help.

I have same issue with iPad3.  all songs play great, both songs I have downloaded and ones on iPad, except 2 albums by same artist that I bought from iTunes.  maybe more, but I have not found any others that seemingly hang exactly as you describe at 0.00 seconds and with pause button displayed.
mindful meditation in everyday life and mindful meditation workshop....Jon-kabat zinn.  I can play these on my iPhone which is on same account without issue.
I also checked console and don't see any relevant messages.
    I have restarted.
I have not restored from backup, but I did do a complete restore a few days ago....I had lost my ipad(left in cart at Walmart), so sent remote wipe command....but got it back!  iCloud restore was perfect.  I takes a while, so hoping to avoid another restore and would rather find the issue.
    please advise.
    thanks,

  • What is the procedure for a hard boot of my iPod touch 4th generation without itunes, and without computer, and without iPod data screen.?

What is the procedure for a hard boot of my iPod touch 4th generation
without iTunes, and without computer, and without iPod data screen?
6 months after purchase I updated my iPod touch as recommend by iTunes.
It has not worked since that day.  It frozen (disabled) with a "connect to
iTunes" icon displayed...that is the only thing it does.  itunes does not
recognize the iPod.  My Windows7 computer recognizes an Apple device.
Other computers recognize the devise but if iTunes resided on that
computer it did not recognize the iPod
I suffered a setback with deep depression and am just now getting out of it enough to do something.  The depression prohibited me from taking action.
I have done every procedure recommended from Apple help and external
sources.  I did this thoroughly with help for other owners and IT experts,
Apple employees etc etc.  I and associates have perform reboots utilizing a
number procedure using only button on the iPod.  These were unsuccessful
    also have performed.
Please do not ask me to do the usual.
Online I saw  a process using the buttons on the iPod to completely
    reformat
the iPod.  It was NOT the hold buttons for 10 sec let go of one wait 8 sec
etc.  I can not find the process now...a friend showed it to me in passing
I have lost contact with him.  This is the procedure, I believe, that with
enable me to update and use the iPod.

You need an internet connection and likely a computer with iTunes but an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch with the FindMy iPhone App may work by:
If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone and use Remote Wipe to erase the contents of your device. If you have been using iCloud to back up, you may be able to restore the most recent backup to reset the passcode after the device has been erased.
You can also wipe the iOS device by installing the FindMyiPhone app on another iOS device and using that app to wipe the device.
    Otherwise
    Disabled
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
iOS: Forgot passcode or device disabled
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

    iTunes: Restoring iOS software
    To restore from backup see:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.
Yo may have to go to an Apple store or a friend's house with an internet connection and iTunes.

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

  • IPod Touch (4th generation) won't connect to wifi! Please help!

My iPod Touch (4th generation) won't connect to my house wifi that it's always connected to. I tried forgetting the network, and putting the password in again, several times. I've tried restarting my iPod, turning the wifi on & off, and also turning the router off and back on but none of this has helped. After I forgot the network and typed the password back in it just kept saying 'loading' and eventually it stops loading but still doesn't connect. It also shows other peoples wifi's but I haven't tried to connect to theres to see if it works. It just started doing this yesterday at this other place I was at but i just figured it was their wifi because when I got home that night it worked just fine but today it started doing it again at my house and I don't know what to do. Please Help!
