Lost iPod touch. How can i get it back? *never setted up findmyipod? is there hope

I lost my ipod two fridays ago, ive looked everywhere in my house for it. I had a track meet that day and had it with me when i went. I had it in my bag and when i got home it wasnt in my bag at all. it either fell out, got stolen, or fell out then someone took it. I never had setup the app on my ipod that says ''findmyipod'' something like that. is there a way i can retrieve my ipod? Could the serial number be a help in finding it? if any one has answers or advice that would be greatly apprecatied

- If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected, on a computer browser go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
- You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have the iPod play a sound via iCloud.
- If not shown, then you will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.
- Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
- There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it unless you had iOS 7 on the device. With iOS 7, one has to enter the Apple ID and password to restore the device.

You should have transferred them to your computer regularly and included them in your backup copy of your computer.
You buy one and only one download. It is your responsibility to move/copy/backup your music.
If for some reason you have failed to backup your music, then you can try contacting itunes support and asking for an exception, but they are under no obligation to allow.

The balance is on the account, not the device.
Check your purchase history to see if something was purchased.

Everything should be on your computer.
You should be syncing contacts and calendars with your comptuer regularly.
You should be transferring all itunes purchases to your computer regularly.
You should be importing all pics taken with iphone to your computer regularly.
Most especially before any update.

if you installed the find my iphone app before it was lost
you can use icloud.com to track it
if not there is nothing you can do

Thanks for that. Much more constructive than the last comment. It's only the restriction code I can't recall, not the access passcode. So I can currently access the device, just not age restricted content. Does that's make a difference? I also wondered if anyone knew how many attempts you get to try to get it right. Now tried 21 times and so far nothing bad has happened but I am concerned I'll eventually be completely locked out of the device. That doesn't seem in the spirit of things though. Surely it's foreseeable that a child could repeatedly try to guess the code so I can't see that it would be right to lock the device down completely in that circumstance, particularly if the access code is being typed in correctly every time.

I just migrated my old computer to a new one with Mavericks and now I no longer have IMovie 9 installed. It did not save the old version in a folder or anywhere that I can find. How can I get the Icon back?

There's no way to delete the included apps (unless your iPad is jailbroken)... so it's on there, we've just got to bring it back to view. A few options:
Go to the search menu - slide your fingers along the screen to the right, and in the "search iPad" that appears type in "music" (the name of the 'ipod app') or the name of a song that's on your iPad, and see if selecting one of those brings it back.
Try doing a hard restart of your iPad: hold down the power and home buttons until the screen turns black and the apple icon appears.
It's also possible you dragged the music icon into a folder. :-)
