Lost iPod touch wifi connection

I recently set up a wireless network with a laptop and a wired connection with a desktop from the same router. Initially we could connect our iPod touch to the network, now we can't .  Don't know why...using the correct key, passwords etc. Is there something in Network Magic that can help? we aren't able to add a device either!! Please help!!!!!!

What is the model no of the  Wireless Router...?
- Try changing the Wireless channel on the router
- Also Change the SSID to unique name.
- Make sure that the Mac Filtering is disable on the router.
Now, check again...

after ipod reset, I can't connect to any wifi.

If this is not your probem:
iOS: Wi-Fi or Bluetooth settings grayed out or dim
    Then:
    - Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on the router.

  • Connecting to shared iTunes via iPod Touch wifi connection

I was wondering if there was a way for me to connect to my shared iTunes music from my iPod Touch (IE in another room, NOT connected to a computer). I would assume that since my iTunes is shared over my wifi connection, and my iPod Touch connects over the same wifi, it would let me do this, but I can't find anything to support this evidence. I'm probably wrong.
If anyone has an answer, let me know! Thanks.

This assumes that you use the Ethernet port to connect the iMac to the Internet:
Navigate to  menu > System Preferences... > Sharing > Internet section. Switch on Internet Sharing and choose "Sharing your connection from": "Built-in Ethernet". To computers using "Airport".
To secure the connection (highly recommended) go to  menu > System Preferences... > Sharing > Internet section. Click on "Airport Options..." and check "Enable encryption (using WEP)". Then enter a password twice. You will need to enter this password to share your connection, although you should be aware even 128bit WEP isn't all that secure.
Additionally OS X IP firewall is probably blocking incoming Port 80 requests (i.e. web traffic).
Go to  menu > System Preferences... > Sharing > and under Services check "Web Sharing".
The wording in this post is for Leopard (10.5).

  • PLEASE HELP!!! Ipod Touch Wifi connection problem

My 1gen Ipod touch has to be directly ontop of my router to even detect/connect to the internet. I have tried all the obvious fixes- Restore, hard restore, resetting the network settings, pretty much everything. If I walk 5 feet away from any router (tried multiple) it drops signal. I cannot find ANY help, and have been searching the web for 2 days litterally. ANY help or suggestions would be much appriciated!!!! Thanks in advance!

I know you said you tried everything, so forgive me if you've already done these things too. I'm just trying to brainstorm with you.
Go to "Settings - WiFi" and tap the blue arrow on the right of your WiFi name and choose forget this network.
Then go to "Settings - General - Reset" and do a "Reset Network".
Power your router off and then on.
Have you tried changing the channel your wifi broadcasts on? Perhaps there's a conflict with some other wireless devices such as phones.
Also be sure you have the latest firmware for your router.
Can other wireless devices connect to this router? Can your ipod connect in a Starbucks or some other wifi place?
    Hope this helps. Good luck.

  • 1st gen iPod touch wifi connection issue, grayed out wifi area in settings

I have a first generation iPod touch and I'm having difficulty connectiong to wifi.  It tells me there is "no wifi" and the wifi area in settings is grayed out.  I have never encountered this problem in the seven months I've owned this device.  My wifi is currently being used by the other three devices that normally share it with my iPod, and they're running just fine as usual.  I've already tried restoring my iPod, as well as updating my iTunes to the newest possible software, then restarting the computer.  I've looked through all of Apple's troubleshooting guides, to no avail.  Any tips from people who've had the same issue or actually understand technology?  All help is greatly appreciated!

  • TS1398 Ipod touch wifi connection

Hi hope someone here can help me.  I have two ipods for my kids and for some reason one is now not picking up the wifi connection.  It shows it is trying to load it keeping the cirle type signal going but never connects previously it did work.  The other one seems to work fine.  I have tried resetting it, turning it off, and have checked the router which is working fine.  Can anyone else give me a suggestion to try.

  • IPod touch wifi connects but internet doesnt work

I have a wireless router that I connect to but when I attempt to get to the internet or app store, it says "cannot connect: invalid argument"
    What should I do?

When you think you are connected (a checkmark appears next to your network name), tap the blue > next to your network name. Do you have a device IP address, subnet mask, router IP, and DNS IP addresses visible? I think you are probably see just an IP address that starts with 169.x and an incomplete subnet mask.
If this is what you are seeing, the 169.x IP address is a self-assigned (and non-functional) IP address. You are logged onto your network but your router is not issuing your touch an IP address.
A few of things you can do (and you can check after each step):
    1. Restart/reboot your router (just remove the power, wait a few, and plug it back in)
    2. Reset your network settings on the touch - tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. After your touch restarts, log back into your network by tapping Settings > WiFi > Other and re-entering your network name, security, and password.
    3. If you are using WEP, either change to WPA2-psk or use your hex key in place of a password
    4. Check to see if your router is using the latest firmware. If it isn't, download and install the latest.

  • Why has my iPod Touch stopped connecting to my WiFi?

Why has my iPod Touch stopped connecting to my WiFi?
It's been fine for the past 2 years but today, it's stopped. It was working this morning...
According to settings it has connected but I cannot access anything online and the internet icon is missing.
WiFi is working on my phone & laptop so it doesn't appear to be a problem with the router. Also I've just synced my iPod with iTunes, reset and restarted - still no luck.
    Any suggstions?
    Thanks

Did you already try to reset the network settings in Settings/General/Reset?

    - If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
    - You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have to iPod play a sound via iCloud.
