Lost iTunes music off iPhone

Ok here's the problem and I know it's my fault but some help would be so nice.
I have an iPhone 3GS and I just downloaded the new 4 software off a friends computer(big mistake) but I don't have the computer I usually sync to so I was desperate. Now that I have the new software and that works well, I have discovered that all my music has been wiped from my iPhone iTunes. Most of these songs I have already backed up on my normal computer(when I get to use it) but there are some songs that I have purchased on my iPhone iTunes but have not sync them to the computer yet. Please tell me there is a way that I can get my purchased music again without having to buy it a second time??

Absolutely not. All purchased content(other than apps) is a ONE time download. You will be charged again if you try & re-download.
really? that s u c k s
i love my phone, but Apple don't half try and spoil the experience at every turn...
Really:
"Products may be downloaded only once and cannot be replaced if lost for any reason. Once a Product is downloaded, it is your responsibility not to lose, destroy, or damage it, and iTunes shall not be liable to you if you do so."

It has always been basic to backup all important info. If you are doing the basic, then this policy is not an issue.
As provided, you can request an exception, but they are under no obligation to allow it.
The recording industry requires their money from Apple.

Under your device in iTunes, you need to make sure you have "Sync Music" enabled on iTunes under the music tab to tell iTunes to move the music it has over to your iPhone.
Take a look at this article for information on how to sync your iPhone using iTunes.

  • Trouble deleting music off Iphone

I trouble deleting music off iPhone and iPod through iTunes. Can't access anything on it.

Now click on "Music" on the top left under "Library", all of your songs will appear to the right.  There is a box to the left of every song.  If it is checked, when you sync it will be transferred to your phone.  To delete a song from your phone, uncheck the box next to it.  When you have unchecked all the songs you want to delete from your phone, click on the Sync botton on the bottom right.  When your phone finishes syncing the unchecked songs should be deleted from your phone.
To summarize: checked songs are synced to your phone when you sync, unchecked songs are deleted from your phone when you sync.
Edit: When you are done unchecking the songs you don't want on your phone, click on the name of your phone again on the left sidebar, then click the Sync button on the bottom right.

  • I've lost my music off my ipod classic. How do I restore it?

I've lost my music off my ipod classic. How do I go about restoring it, any ideas?

If the media is all in your computer's library use iTunes to restore the device. I was making the assumption that you hadn't since that is when people usually come for help.
Your qualifying iTunes purchases are available for download from iTunes in the Cloud. There is a subscription service called iTunes Match that can extend the ability to download on demand to your ripped music. iCloud is a cloud data service for iOS devices and Mac computers. You can't "save" your media to it.

  • Downloading lost itunes music from support and running out of space on HD

Well it's been a long process, but to make things short:
I called support to get help in recovering lost itunes music on emac running panther. The support folks were easily able to locate the purchased music which also included some movies and TV shows (son's computer). we were able to initiate the downloads, however part way through the process I noted that the drive on the emac would probably fill up, and it did. The emac has a external drive. I want to move the itunes music folder to the external drive, which I probably should have done first.
So now is it possible to move the itunes music folder to the external drive and then continue the restoration and how would this be done, precisely. I have searched and read a few articles on this process and I was confused by giving a iTunes Music folder path to "whatever new location you want your iTunes media files to be stored in". If I get into this will the computer prompt me and show the external drive as a possible new location of the folder, or do I need to enter the new location and what would the new path look like in words?
Thanks, hope this is understandable by the crew !

I just realized I have a different iCloud account set up on my phone. The one on my Macbook is the one associated with my ITunes account. Could this be the problem?

  • HT204406 I am out of space on my I phone becuse of iTunes.  If I sign up for iTunes Match should I delete all my iTunes music off my iPhone prior to signing up for iTunes Match?

I am out of space on my iPhone 4S because of my iTunes Library.  I want to sign up for iTunes Match, but should I delete all my music off my iPhone prior to subscribing to iTimes Match?

I got rid of a my stored music once I paid for iTunes Match. But beware you then need an Internet connection to pay music and even then a poor signal plays havoc. I sometimes wait five minutes for music to start and more often than not it stops playing and won't start again.

  • Deleting music off iphone while connected to itunes

for some reason i cant not delete music off my iphone when its connected to itunes on my laptop. was wondering whats the issue?

    You're welcome.
    There is only one kind.
There is a Reset and a Restore.
You Reset an iPhone by pressing and holding the Home button and Sleep/Wake or On/Off button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo and then release - ignoring the slide to turn off prompt when doing so.
A Reset does not affect any data or settings. I Reset my iPhone once a week or so regardless if needed or not and I power my iPhone off and on first thing each morning.

  • Computer crashed had to reinstall windows how do i get my music off iphone back on to itunes

after reinstalling windows obviously itunes is empty and my songs are on iphone. any surgestions?

The 5 authorized COMPUTERS has NOTHING to do with ipods.
Itunes will allow up to 5 computers to be authorized to play pre-itunes+ music. When you reach the limit of 5 COMPUTERS, then you can de-authorize them all, then authorize the active ones again.
You can sync as many ipods as you like to a computer.
In the future, it is a good idea to de-authorize before re-installing your os or getting rid of a computer.

  • HT201269 Lost iTunes music?

A while back I had to do a reset on my iPhone 4. When I did this I lost all my purchased iTunes music. All of the songs were purchased through my iPhone and never transferred to my computer. At the time, I only had 8g of memory and no storage left on my phone so I was never too concerned with putting the music back on it, I just used pandora when I wanted to listen to music. I have since purchased an iPhone 5 and now that I have more storage I would like my music back. I tried going into iTunes and searching for the songs thinking maybe I would just have to re-install the same way I would if I deleted an app and wanted it back, but all it sasy is "purchased" and gives me no option to re-load the song to my device. It doesn't even give me the option to purchase again. Anyone have a solution for this?
    Thanks!!!

  • Lost iTunes Music

I just reformatted my PC because of some driver problems, and I didn't think twice about it because all I really had on it was some media. Now I'm noticing that I can't find a way to get any of the stuff I bought off of the iTunes store back, which was over two hundred dollars worth of albums. Where do I get them back from?

The policy on lost purchases is that you have to pay to download them again:
"Once a Product is purchased and you receive the Product, it is your responsibility not to lose, destroy, or damage the Product, and Apple shall be without liability to you in the event of any loss, destruction, or damage."
You could try contacting the iTunes Music Store Customer Service and you might be able to persuade them to sanction a second free download. There have been occasional reports in the iTunes forum of this happening, however just be aware that they are not under any obligation to do so. If you click on any of the links on this page you'll find a space at the bottom to email your query: iTMS Customer Service

  • Having trouble moving iTunes music onto iPhone 5

    Hey guys,
I'm going to try my best to clarify everything so please bare with me.
    Windows 7 (64-bit)
    iTunes (11.3)
    iPhone 5 64GB (iOS 7.1.2)
    - All are up to date as of now
    - There is enough storage for my 4,462 songs I want to add
Yesterday, I finally transferred all of my music from my library on my computer to this one (and downloaded some new songs).
I wanted to put all of my iTunes music from my computer onto to my iPhone via USB cable. I wanted to delete all music from my iPhone to clean the slate then add the new music to make sure everything is new (no duplicates, wrong songs, etc.) I have done this a few times before.
So I plugged in my iPhone and checked manually manage music (as I usually do), then highlighted all of my songs on my iPhone and deleted them. Then they disappeared from the phone's music list and showed that I had gained all that space back (this is all normal).
So I highlighted all of the music on my iTunes (4,462 songs) and dragged them into the iPhone music area.
It then began copying the songs over, so I left it there to copy overnight because all of those songs would take a while to transfer.
Today I woke up and checked to see if it was done and I saw that most songs did not copy and instead were grayed out with the dotted circles next to them.
It said "Copying 1 of 382 --> Song name" but hasn't made any progress since then.
So I deleted the grayed out songs from the list but couldn't delete the ones that were trying to copy.
I tried cancelling the copying process but it was stuck at that same "1 of 382" for 30 minutes.
So I ejected my iPhone but it said "Syncing iPhone" or something like that. I left it like that for 10 minutes and it didn't do anything so I unplugged my phone from my computer and did a hard restart on the phone. In the meantime iTunes said something like "Failed, the device was disconnected."
I restarted my computer and opened iTunes again and connected my phone again. I plugged in my phone and tried syncing all of the music instead and it did basically the same thing and then said there wasn't enough room to transfer items.
I didn't understand because when I clicked on my iPhone device it didn't show any music. But then I looked at the storage bar and it showed that music was taking up about 30GB (about the amount of music that I wanted to transfer originally) on my iPhone.
So now I'm trying to delete the music off of my iPhone but it doesn't show the songs on it in iTunes.
I tried deleting all the music through the options in my phone (it let me do it) but it didn't delete any music (even after hard restarting my phone).
So now I'm not able to transfer music to my phone...
         1. Because it says there is not enough room
         2. I'm having trouble with the songs that won't transfer via syncing or manually managing items because of the stupid
I've tried so many things, read so many threads online but nothing is working, and I definitely don't want to restore my iPhone...
         1. Many people said they've tried that and many other things but nothing worked
         2. I don't want to have to bother with that whole process and am worried about losing something(s) in the backup process.
If anyone has any suggestions, I'd much appreciate it them.

I haven't, I've been using the same account since I first got an iPod. Although...I just noticed that all the songs that did transfer are songs I bought from iTunes. None of the songs I imported from CDs got transferred. What's the deal?

  • Deleting music off iphone

Can I delete music off my phone from itunes but still have it stored somewhere on itunes or the cloud so I can access it again?  I need to get it off my phone for space but still want it longterm on intunes somewhere so I can access it again and re-download it to my phone at another time.  Can this be done?

    Hi mjtacey13,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
If the music on your iPhone was purchased from the iTunes Store, you can redownload it at any time.
If the music is from your iTunes library, you can change your preferences in iTunes to sync only the songs you want manually.
It's always a good idea to first back up your iPhone before making an major changes:

To remove all of the music on your iPhone, tap Settings > General > Usage >

  • How do I change the default locations for the iTunes music and iPhone back-up folders?

My computer's hard drive is partitioned, with one partition having all of the Windows system files, and the other having all of my documents, music, videos, etc.  When I installed iTunes, it automatically created its music and iPhone folders on the Windows partition.  I've been able to change the default save folders for other programs to the second partition, but I'm having troubles finding this option in iTunes (I even went back and re-installed it to see if I could find it that way, but no dice).  Is there a way to change the default folders for the iTunes library and iPhone files?  It takes up A LOT of space on my Windows partition, so it would be very great to get that moved over.
    Thanks!

You can't selectively move individual folders withing the iTunes  folder, but you can move the entire folder to, say, an external dive. To delink the iTunes application to the new library location:
Open iTunes while holding down the Option key (Mac) or Shift key (Windows).
In the resulting dialog, click the Choose Library button.
Select the iTunes folder you moved to the external hard drive.
Click Choose (Mac OS X) or Open (Windows) and then choose the iTunes Library file inside .

  • Lost iTunes music thru pc crash

is there a way to get already purchased iTunes music back (free of charge of course) after a crash which forced me to completely restore my pc, losing all my files?

You could try contacting the iTunes Music Store Customer Service and you may be able to persuade them to sanction a second free download however they are not under any obligation to do so. The policy on lost songs is that you have to pay to download them again:
"Once a Product is purchased and you receive the Product, it is your responsibility not to lose, destroy, or damage the Product, and Apple shall be without liability to you in the event of any loss, destruction, or damage."

I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up in case you have problems again. External drives are quite cheap these days and you can get loads of storage for quite a small outlay.

  • Lost ITunes Music Card

I sent my nephew a $50 ITunes Music Card for Christmas and the package I sent it in was lost by UPS. (That's what Brown did for me!) Assuming the card was destroyed, not stolen and used, can I get it replaced? And if it was stolen, is there a way of tracking who used it? I couldn't find any information about this on the Apple website.
    PowerMac G5   Mac OS X (10.4)
    PowerMac G5   Mac OS X (10.4)
    PowerMac G5   Mac OS X (10.4)

This is somewhat easy. My neice gave me one for christmas and iTunes won't honor the 16 digit code. So even if it is stolen I doubt it will work for them either. However she bought it at Target so at this point i don't know who is to blame YET.
