Lost January Software Update, how do I get it back?

Hey ya'll, im new to apple and its products, only be an apple user for 7 months, and am still planning on getting the new iPhone and Macbook Air when I get more money, lol. But, for now, only product i have is iPod Touch, and I just had this problem happen to me and dont know how to fix it. I just scrolled it from an email i sent to their support. Hope you guys can help me fix it.

"Hello. I am really confused now, so Ill just get right to it. Last night, when I hooked up my iPod Touch to my computer, my computer first recgnized it, however, when I went to my iPod no movies or no songs were on there. I unpluged it, pluged it back in. Then it says your iPod cannot be recognized, and so I had to format my entire iPod Touch, losing all my settings, and the 2008 January Software Update that I paid $19.99 for. So then, I go back into my iTunes account, after restoring it, and re-syncing all my songs and videos back to the iPod, and it says that I never paid for the January Update ($19.99), which I did, and 3 Metallica songs ($0.99/ea) that I purchased that same day. So then I go and try to put my credit info back on, to "pay" it off again, and it wouldnt let me, and said something about enter a vaild security code, which i did (the 3 numbers on back of credit card at the end in a box), numerous times. I would like to know how do I get my january oftware Upgrade back, as well as my 3 songs I purchased in January 2008."

First, see if the update is gone, or not being utilized:
The iPod touch January Software Upgrade can only be synced to iPod touch from the primary iTunes library. If the user is manually managing music and video on iPod, this is the computer where they first set up the iPod or first set it up after restoring the iPod. The "iPod touch App Pack 4A93.ipa" file can be copied from the computer where you purchased it to your primary iTunes library computer, and sync the iPod from there.

Windows Vista:
C:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Roaming\\Apple Computer\iTunes\Mobile Applications\
Note: These locations are hidden by default in Windows. You can these locations by choosing "Show hidden files and folder" in the View tab of the Folder Options Control Panel.
Now, if you can't get this to install, you can try to set your Touch to automatically sync instead of manually sync.
If that doesn't do it, login to your iTunes store account within iTunes, goto your account, and select "report problem"
They should be able to help you with the downloads and the update from there.
