Lost Keynote Remote connection to iPhone

I had a Keynote Remote connection set up between the iPhone and PowerBook, but now the iPhone does not appear in Remote Preferences. Both devices are on the same wifi network, running Keynote '09, Keynote Remote running on the iPhone, and still has the laptop showing as a Keynote link. Seems like if I could completely remove the link from both devices, it could re-establish the link, but I can't find how to remove the link from the iPhone.

Wow, I was really hoping that there would be an answer in here since it isn't that publicized.
I have found that when using the network created by my MacBook Pro (no wifi at work) the signal is so weak that the phone will only search for keynote when my iPhone is sitting on the keyboard. Even then though, it will never connect to keynote. I don't know what is wrong with it because the day the iPhone app came out it worked fine.
I plan on calling Apple today about it. I'll post if I find out anything.

Have you tried deleting the songs from Settings?
Settings -> General -> Usage -> Manage Storage (not the iCloud link!) -> Music and then click Edit to enable you to be able to delete.

  • Can't use Keynote Remote Because of iPhone 5's Bluetooth

I use Keynote Remote with my iPhone 5 to MacBook Air. WiFi works well but Bluetooth doesn't work at all. How to solve this problem.
    P.S.
    iPhone 5 - iOS 6.0.2
    MacBook Air - OS X v.10.8.2

    Here's Apple's instructions:
    Using Keynote Remote with Bluetooth
When a Wi-Fi connection is unavailable you can use Keynote Remote with Bluetooth to control your Keynote slideshow from one iOS device to another (iPad, iPhone, iPod touch). However, slides may take longer to appear on Keynote Remote when connected via Bluetooth. You cannot use Keynote Remote via Bluetooth with a Mac. The following steps use Keynote Remote on an iPhone to control a Keynote presentation on an iPad via Bluetooth.
iPhone: Go to Settings > General > Bluetooth and turn Bluetooth ON.
iPad: Go to Settings > General > Bluetooth and turn Bluetooth ON.
    iPad: Open a Keynote presentation.
iPhone: Open the Keynote Remote app. If you have previously paired your iPhone or iPad, you can immediately begin to control your slideshow from your iPhone by tapping Play Slideshow. If this is the first time pairing with these iOS devices, refer to the steps in "Linking Keynote Remote to Another iOS Device," above.
Note: If your iPhone displays the message "No connection available. Both devices must be connected to a Wi-Fi network or have Bluetooth turned on," continue with the steps above because you may still be able to use Keynote Remote with Bluetooth

  • Using Keynote Remote via Bluetooth - iPhone 4S + iPad 2

I have used Keynote remote quick happily on my old 3GS. Now I need to use Keynote remote on my iPhone 4S to control a Keynote presentation on my iPad.
WiFi is not an option, so I need to use Bluetooth.
Both devices are up to date and running iOS6
Activating iPad Bluetooth in settings, devices (eg Macbook, Apple keyboard) other than the iPhone appear on the iPad.
Activating Blutooth in settings on the iPhone discovers nothing. It is as if Bluetooth is not activating. The MacBook can't find the iPhone either.
I have rebooted both devices several times.
I have also tried to activate the pairing within Keynote remote - which just says no connection is available and says both devices must have bluetooth turned on.
    So.
    Am I being stupid here?
Or has Apple screwed up letting their very expensive and overpriced devices communicate with each other?

Hey I was having trouble with this too. I got it to work for me. I have an iPad 2 and an iPhone 5. The fix for me was simple. Turn off WiFi for both your iPad and your iPhone. Turn on Bluetooth for both your iPad and your iPhone. Then KeyNote > Tools > Advanced > Remote. You don't have to do anything just have your Phone Remote app running and the bluetooh enabled when you hit remote on your iPad. They should find each other.
I've had to do this each time I use this function. There should we a way that you can just choose to use Bluetooth.

  • IPhone and Keynote remote connection issues.

I have been trying to connect my phone to my computer so that I can use to keynote remote app. Over the wifi network there is a bunch of lag while trying to control so that is not good at all. Therefore I tried to use the ad-hoc mode from my macbook pro. Using channel 9 I was able to get it to connect but after using the remote to change a couple of slides I get lag and then an error saying that I am no longer connected to a wifi network.

  • Keynote Remote connection issues

I can not connect my iPhone 3GS or my iPad to my MacBook Pro in Keynote Remote. When I try and link I get linking failed. I have tried my wireless at home and at work. I have turned off the firewall and left it on allowing incoming connections to Keynote.
If I create a network and then connect to that. It works.
This is also true for the Touchpad app I have on my iPad.
    Thoughts?

I had a Edge connection that was using a different IP. Once I got rid of that, everything works like a charm.

  • Keynote remote (on iPhone 5) keeps reporting "connection lost"

I use Keynote on my iPad to present lectures, and Keynote remote on my iPhone 5 to advance the slides.  But occasionally, Keynote remote operating on the iPhone will show "connection lost" like this:
I tap OK and within a few seconds it usually reconnects without me doing anything.  Occasionally it won't reconnect no matter what I do.  Most of the time I have the two devices linked via personal hotspot because no WiFi networks are usually available in the rooms where I give presentations.  Both devices still show the chain-link icon, indicating that the hotspot is still running and the iPad is connected to it, so it doesn't seem like a problem with the network.
This has been an issue only since I upgraded to iOS8 (and upgraded the Keynote versions along with it) a couple months ago.  Prior to that I never had this problem.  Of course, before iOS8 I was using the stand-alone keynote remote app from the app store, which isn't available any more.
I supposed there probably isn't anything I can do to fix this, but I wanted to log the issue here just in case anyone else was having this problem.

Turn off Bluetooth on both devices.
Then turn on Bluetooth on the Mac, then turn it on on the iPhone. Now run the remote app.
The remote has to pair itself with the Mac, similar to a trackpad device.

  • Cannot play slideshow using Keynote Remote on iPhone

I have purchased Keynote Remote and installed on iPhone 3GS (v3.1.2), the app connects to MacBook Pro no problem, however I cannot 'Play Slideshow' - Just get the screen 'Could not play slideshow. Make sure a slideshow is playing on your computer.' But still doesn't run, even when I have KeyNote running on MacBook and a SlideShow open as required.
Have tried rebooting both devices, I have also removed the App from the iPhone, deleted it from MacBook and then downloaded and installed it again...
    Any ideas please...

  • Keynote Remote for iPad

I'm not looking to control Keynote on the iPad, but rather use my iPad as a Keynote Remote for my MacPro running Keynote for Mac.  I have it on the iPhone, but running Keynote for Mac 'remotely' from my iPad would be better for me.  I run photography workshops and courses and in my studio my MacPro is connected to a 42" display that I run a Keynote presentation on.  I've been controlling it with Keynote Remote on my iPhone, but would rather use my iPad as the remote.

Although I have it on my iPhone, I couldn't find how to install it on my iPad.  Thought it wasn't compatible.  Found it through my "Purchased Apps" on the iPad (App Store) and hit install.  Thanks for verifing that it was compatible and I just had to dig a little deeper.
Wish they'd come out with a dedicated iPad version with a few more features rather than just a 2X view of the iPhone app.

  • How to delete a file in Keynote Remote for iPhone4?

Any one know how to delete a file in Keynote remote app for iPhone4? I uploaded a Keynote file from iDisk to my iphone and I can't delete the file. The file does not show up when I connect my phone to iTunes.
I also cannot connect my Iphone to Keynote anymore because of this file.

The file is actually in the Keynote app and not the Keynote remote app for iPhone.

  • My keynote remote will not connect from my iPhone 5s to my iMac after updating to iOS 8.1

I updated my iPhone 5s to iOS 8.1 earlier today and now my remote for Keynote will not connect with my iMac Keynote. I had a presentation tonight and it didn't work. I tried rebooting the phone and it still does not work. Any ideas? (I have Yosemite on my computer and it worked fine with iOS 8.02)

This question is posted regularly, the remedy is to unlink Keynote Remote in Mac Keynote:
Keynote > Preferences > Remote, then re-establish the link.

  • Connecting keynote remote to iphone 4 via blue tooth

    Good Morning:
I would love to use Keynote Remote to run Keynote Presentations at the college where I work.  However, there is something about the college network that seems to be preventing this from happening.  I know this because a) Keynote Remote works perfectly fine on my home network and b) the college network people tell me that this is the case based on their research.  As a way to bypass this, I would like to use the bluetooth on my iPhone 4 and Macbook Pro to set up a connection and use Keynote Remote.  To date, I have not been able to make this happen.  I cannot get the devices to recognize each other (so much more how "easy" all apple products connect to one another).  Does anyone know how to get this to work?  I have the latest Lion operating system and the latest iOS for my iPhone 4.  Would love to get this to work, as my life would be much easier.
    Thanks,
    Matt

The iPhone will NOT pair with your Tom Tom.  This is not, nor has it ever been a feature of the iPhone.

  • Connecting iPhone and iPad via Keynote remote without Personal Hotspot?

I live in Japan, where Personal Hotspot functionality is unfortunately unavailable.
I bought the Keynote Remote app to control my Keynote Presentations with my iPhone, but in places with no wi-fi available, I cannot get my two devices to connect via bluetooth.
Is there any way to link them? My keynote app is useless without a workaround.

Check out this thread.  Go about half way down and read the post from Crankhead.
