Lost Keyword Tags with updating files after PSE 13 install

When I updated my PSE 11 catalog after installing PSE 13, I lost some of the Tag categories. In particular, they were the ones that PSE 11 had shown as Imported Keyword Tags. Is there any way to recapture these order Tag Categories?

I am new to LR3. I would like to import all my photos into LR3 and all these photos have keyword tags that were done in PSE. Will LR3 automatically import the keyword tags too? If not, how would I do it?

The answer is "NO", because importing is the WRONG thing to do here.
The proper procedure is to have LR3 upgrade your PSE catalog. In Lightroom, File->Upgrade PSE Catalog. All your tags will show up in Lightroom as keywords. Couldn't be simpler!

Lost keyword tags in PSE 6.0

I have two catalogs in PSE 6.0, one called 2007 and the other called 2008. The files are kept in folders of the same names on my computer. In the 2007 folder, as well as the picture files, there are files called Keyword Tags 2007.mxc2 and mxfilerelatedcache.mxc2 and the keyword tags show in the catalog. The 2008 folder has the corresponding files but no keyword tag information at all appears in the catalog. I have looked at the two .mxc2 files and they appear to be of similar layout. I would appreciate help on how the Keyword Tags 2008 can be reconnected.

Di, if you look at a keyword tags file with the .xml extension it looks like a lot of code (which, of course, it is) but within that code you can see reference to the individual tags. That is how I know that the tag information is still on my machine. Both files look about the same but only the first catalog shows the tags when opened.
The tags appeared against the idividual pictures when I entered them in. It was several weeks later that I discovered that they were missing. Perhaps this is something to do with the 'save' part of the operation.
I really don't want to enter the tags again - there are hundreds of pictures. It would appear that I will have to do this if I can't find the solution to this problem in the near future.

Why can't I install VS 2013 with update 4 after acquiring successfully?

I downloaded VS 2013 with update 4 source (iso file) in VisualStudio.com
After extracting, I ran this command: vs2013.4.exe /layout
It worked and displayed the result.
Setup completed! All specified components have been acquired successfully.
A folder was created in C:\Users\...\Documents\Update 4
But, when I right clicked file vs2013.4.exe in that folder, cliked Run as Administrator. It didn't work.
An error was found:
Update 4 does not apply or is blocked by another condition on your computer
I tried to delete all files in C:\Users\...\AppData\Local\Temp and reinstalled it.
But, the result was the same.
I'm using Windows 8.1 64bit and install all Windows update. It includes KB2883200.
Can you tell me how to install it?

According to the name of the installer "vs2013.4.exe", I think what you download is the update 4 for VS2013 instead of VS2013 with update 4.

So when you right clicked file vs2013.4.exe in that folder, cliked Run as Administrator, it didn't work because you didn't install VS2013.

Keyword Tags with Vietnamese Letters

Hi all of you! I am new in the forum.
I am using Organizer in PSE 12. I have many Vietnamese friends and their names are something like Nguyễn Văn Tuấn or Đặng Bằng Kiều and so on.
Try tagging the photos with their names, but Keyword Tags using these letters do not display right what they should be.
Which Font does Organizer use for display? Does anybody know how to chage the Font in Organizer? to Myriad Pro for example?

An asterisk in that view means that you have multiple images selected, and that keyword (or synonym) is defined only for some of them.
If it is synonyms that are being exported, it is because the keyword settings say to suppress exported the keyword, but to export the synonym. There are checkboxes that control this, though two of them are sub checkboxes only available when the first is enabled.
Note that first-class non-synonym keywords that happen to match a synonym defined in another keyword are unrelated.

Private keyword tags with synonyms exported?

With Lightroom 3.4.1, is there a known issue with private keyword tags being exported? I have some tags that have "Include on Export" unchecked, and I never check "Write Keywords as Lightroom Hierarchy." Even so, I've seen them in the exported files. It seems to be ones that have Synonyms.

What do you do with source file after edit and export

i wounder what people do with the source file after edit, they are taking up a lot of space on my computer. I can hardly bring myself to delete them, but neither can i save them, beacuse of space on Hdd. have thought of, only export those clip you have used in your timeline, uncompressed?

If you don't need them at all, you can delete them. People usually store them in external drives if they need them.

MPEG folder with .m2v files after build required?

When you build a project, I noticed the folder MPEG being created. does DSP create an MPEG folder with .m2v files?
Now, do you need this folder even after you BUILD the project. I don't understand why, the build folder is nearly 3GB as it is?

If there is a chance that you will have to make changes to your project, you should keep it.
Otherwise you can throw it out.

Does iPad 2 keep IOS 7.1.1 update file after updating

I have a iPad 2 and it's running out of storage after the recent iOS update to 7.1.1. Before updating I was asked for 3 GB space, and was barely able to delete enough stuff to make that much space for the update. Now I only have 1.7GB available after updating. My question is does my iPad 2 keep downloaded update file in its storage? If so, how do I delete it to reclaim some storage space?

Including NetUI tags with jspf files

Hello
I'm trying to clean up my jsp code by putting some of it into .jspf
files. But apparently this include means that my netUI tags are rendered
at text and not interpretated.
Is this how it should be?, can one only put pure HTML into .jspf files?

Found out why it dosent work. Its because I use the danish letters ???
Example:
<td><netui:label
value="{pageFlow.st?vne.DRFSt?vne.overst?vne.navn}"></netui:label></td>
The above is rendered as text when included in a jspf file.
<netui:label value="{pageFlow.ekvipage.hest.navn}"></netui:label>
The above works (same file)
So its actually a bug :-)

Some more technical info:
There is a fundamental difference between the include directive <%@ include %> and <jsp:include >
The <%@ include %> tag includes the file at translation/compile time. It is like copying and pasting the contents of the "fragment" into the main JSP. It is then translated, compiled and run.
The <jsp:include> tag includes the result of running that page at execution time. ie it is as if you made a web request to that URL, and pasted the response you got back into the response of the including page.
What does this mean in your case?
1 - a .jspf file will not be evaluated by <jsp:include>. If you make a request for the jspf file directly, it will send you the source, because it doesn't invoke the JSP servlet on jspf files.
Solution: change the file to sample.jsp, and it should include ok or use @include

Windows Won't Restart After PSE 8 Install

I have repeated the following three times now, same result each time. I installed PSE 8 on my Vista based system, everything completes OK and asks to restart. The low level stuff runs OK and the screen goes blank as Windows starts to load. But then it hangs. I waited over an hour once, just to make sure it was really hung, since Vista has never been know for lightning fast response. When I force a restart it recommends the start up repair, since Windows would not start after a software install. It can't fix it and offers to roll back to previous restore point, which gets me back where I was, with no PSE. My machine is an HP, about 2 years old, pretty vanilla configuration (no hardware mods, MS Office, Trend Micro AV, few other utilies, no games or high end graphic stuff except video camera support stuff from Sony). Any thoughts? Paid $100 for the software and would really like to get to use it . . . .

Normally I would tell you to wait until the developer put out an update. However, i just checked my OPlayer Lite, and it seems to work fine. So it sounds like something in your OPlayer's data is a tad broken.
1. Make sure you have a valid backup. iCloud backup is great. I also suggest making an unencrypted backup in iTunes. Also, import all photos into your computer.
2. Go to Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and settings.
3. Set up iPhone as a new device, DO NOT sign into iCloud or restore from any backup. DO sign into iTunes.
4. Redownload OPlayer, test. If it opens, then there was an issue with the OPlayer data, and your backups are pretty useless if you want this App. If it doesn't work, then the issue with the iOS 8 Update.
5. If the issue is with the Data, then Sign into iCloud to sync contacts/calendars/notes/etc, sync photos/music/movies/books/apps from iTunes. Also you can download apps.
6. If the issue seems to be with the update, then plug iPhone into iTunes and restore to factory. Then set up as new again and download OPlayer, test. Should work. If it does, then restore your backup from iTunes or Erase and restore from iCloud.
7. If it doesn't work, contact the developer and AppleCare. AppleCare will say its the developer's issue, but they can gather log files and have their Engineers take a peak, on the off chance there is something wonky with your iPhone or how its handling iOS 8.

If the system partition was erased, recovery of any files previously stored on it as identifiable entities is unlikely.
Keeping an external CarbonCopyClone of the startup disk (free download) gets you a bootable clone (with all applications installed) so you have a chance of cloning back onto the internal disk if you ever need to reformat the partition again.

Can I delete unzipped font files after Font Book install?

Can I delete the unzipped font files for one particular font after it's installed with Font Book? I will offload the zipped file for maybe future installation on another computer but I am confused whether I need to keep the unzipped font files on my Mac after they were installed via Font Book.
