Lost licensing info

Howdy,
I have 5 users with Adobe Captivate installs (all are Captivate v. 4) who need to upgrade to
v. 5.
Some may be the trial version, but most are probably official licensed installs.
Seems the previous regime's record keeping abilities was not so good, as I cannot
locate any record of the software being purchased, the license key, or the
actual install disc.
Is there a way to determine if the current install is the trial version?  I'm guessing
they do not have the trial as I'm pretty sure they've had it installed for more than
30 days, but should make sure.
If they have the official licensed version, is there a way to dig up the license/product key?
Sorry for the most likely dumb questions. Of course this had to be dealt with yesterday so
I'm under a time crunch and grasping at any/all straws
Thanks!
Jim

Hello,
Normally you can find it on the Adobe site. Check this link:
Customer support portal
You'll have to log in with Adobe ID ? Perhaps that is a problem? If the link doesn"t work, search the site for the support portal.

Lost ipod info on computer due to hard drive problem. Can I upload info on ipod back to my computer and how do i do it.

    - Transfer iTunes purchases by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer
    - Transfer othe music by using a third-party program like one of those discussed here:
    Best iPod to PC
    - Create a backup of the iPod by connecting the iPod to the computer.  Right click on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up.
    - Restore the iPod from thzt backup and sync a necessary.

  • HT4059 I recently lost all info on my iPad, luckily I had recently backed up on iTunes.  We I restored it my iBooks didn't bring my files.  I have the properly labeled files in the collections, just no files.  How do I get these?

I recentlyl lost all info on my iPad, luckily I had recently backed up on iTunes.  When I performed the restore, everything came accross except my iBooks pages.  I have the proper files in my collections, but the information in the files is not showing up.
How do I get this lost information back?

A backup doesn't contain any of your iTunes downloads or the contents of the Music, Videos or iBooks apps. If they are ibooks and they are still in the store then you should be able to redownload them via the Purchased tab in the ibookstore in the iBooks app. If they are PDFs and/or epubs from other sources then do you have copies of them anywhere e.g. are they in the Books part of your computer's iTunes library or elsewhere on your computer ?

  • Lightroom 4.4 crashed on Windows 7 Laptop, lost catalog info, won't import half my images.

Lightroom 4.4 crashed on Windows 7 Laptop today, lost catalog info, won't import half my images.
Not only is LR messed up, it deleted my day's shooting. Can't believe that.
Now it won't import (i.e. re-import) half my files.
Imported half, but had errors importing rest.
    Corrupt catalog?
When I try to import the folders, it recognizes that they are in the catalog (I have "don't import duplicates" turned on).
After running through all the folders, it says, "Nothing to Import."
    Any help?
    Best,
    Peter

    Thanks dj_paige.
I installed a plugin, coincidence makes me thinks this might have cause a LR4.4 crash.
After rebooting my windows 7 laptop, LR had lost record of half my directories on the external drive, as seen in Library Module.
In Windows Explorer, the folders and images are still there.
I tried recovering the lost folder references in LR by doing an import on the external hard drive again.
It took about a half hour to run.
There was a report screen at the end of the process that said that LR was unable to import something like 1500 images.
I did not save the report screen. Maybe it is part of a log file somewhere to give you what it exactly said?
I do not profess to understand how catalogues work under the covers.
I only use one catalog at this point.
My guess is at this point I should de-commission the catalog (whatever it takes to do that - delete it, etc.) and just do a new, fresh import on my images.
I don't feel I lose anthing this way - I can't see where I would lose anything important. About 5-10% of the RAW images were processed and exported to jpg, just for web use for casual viewing. The jpg's are all still on the external hard drive.
    Any suggestions are appreciated.
    Cheers,
    Peter

  • Lost Song Info

    OK, here's my situation:
I have Windows XP. I realised that no album artwork was showing on my iPod nano, even though it was on iTunes (most up-to-date version). This was because the error with the "Chkdsk" thing kept appearing. After I ran that, nothing changed, but after I'd changed some setting somwhere, I thought I'd fixed the problem. But I had to stop partway through the operation so only some of it came up on the iPod.
However, when I went back to it, I somehow accidentally deleted all song info (artist, album, album artwork etc) and now all that appears on both the iPod and iTunes is the song title. This is the case in "iPod", "Purchased" and "Library" sections. Nor is it on my hard drive.
Is there an easy way to retrieve all lost song info quickly and easily?

How many songs are you talking about? You can enter the information yourself for each one if you're up to it. Right click on the song file, then choose get info. On the second tab "info" where everything is probably showing up unknown, you can type in the information. I'm sorry I really don't know of another way to do this if the program can't ID the song to search the internet for details.
Are these whole albums or individual songs? If they're albums, you could burn them to a CD and then rip them into Windows Media Player. You'll get an option to search for the album info. online before you rip the CD. You can enter the artist or album name and let Windows Media Player find the correct song details, then Windows Media Player will enter the info into all of the columns for you. Once you have these albums ripped in Media Player, you can re-import them into iTunes and the tags will be there. (Just make sure you rip using mp3 so you don't have to go through a conversion process to bring them into iTunes.) Album art doesn't transfer from Windows Media Player to iTunes. You'll have to hand add this.
I don't rip in iTunes so I don't know how the program tags unknown albums. If iTunes can search for and add tag information to unknown albums--skip the Windows Media Player step and just re-rip everything in iTunes.

  • Can I use Time Machine to recover my Aperture License Info

Out of the blue my G5 started asking for my Aperture License again. I just finished a move and don't know where I have that info/box. Can someone tell me if I can run Time Machine to recover it? AND IF SO... EXACTLY HOW? Much appreciated.

Unfortunately, it has been my experience that Time Machine does NOT backup the license info on Aperture. I say unfortunately because of other issues (now resolved; not dealing with Aperture, however).
I had to use my original installation Leopard Disk, then go through the Apple Icon Software Update (as Time Machine also does not back up Apple Operating System Updates). Then I had to initialize things such as iTunes, test my printer, and other things. To my surprise, the first time I opened Aperture after it was restored by Time Machine I too had to enter the serial number
Other Apple applications, such as iWork and iLife worked fine without the necessity to enter their original serial numbers. But Aperture would not work until I entered the serial number. I don't know why that is, but that has been my experience. And I have done the above procedure three (3) times due to other issues (now resolved).
Summary: When one reinstalls Aperture from Time Machine, it has been my experience that once reinstalled, you must have the serial number handy in order to get Aperture to function. I now placed the serial number of my Aperture on a label, and I affixed that label to the CD Jewel Case of the original Aperture install disk so that I know an easy way to find the number if I should need it again.
Good luck in your search for your serial number

  • Where to enter Licensing Info to remove Automation Restriction??

    Hi
We have a situation , we have a web application which further has multiple flex applications.
We have 2 Servers say Server 1 and Server 2.
Build process runs on Server 1 using ANT and then the Output is Deployed on Server 2 using Powershell.
We are using Flex 3.5 SDKs to compile our flex applications.
We have License for FB3 Pro , FB4 Premium and FB 4.5 Standars.
We dont wish to Install FB but just Install Licenses.
Question is where should we install the License , Which Server ? and what is the way to do it.
I read we can add arguments in build files under compile section but how the exact argument should be.
    Thanks
    Mohit

    Hi Mohit,
Licensing should be applied on the machine in which the Flex application is being compiled. During compilation itself, Flex compiler looks for licensing info to remove restrictions.
http://raniskumar.wordpress.com/2009/07/28/flex-builder-license-and-automation-flex-3/ explains different ways to apply license in Flex 3. Same steps apply for FB 4 as well but the name "flexbuilder3" should be changed to "flashbuilder4" in case of FB4.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks,
    Deeptika

  • Selling phone, license info safe?

    Hi,
If I decided to sell my phone, would the next owner be able to use my license info to buy Maps licenses without me knowing it, possibly even charging my credit card?
I once did a hard reset on my phone, erasing everything, making it like a brand new device, but Maps still found my previous license info. Can this info be erased aswell?
    Marc

Use the following procedure to register existing licenses and request for new licenses:

  • Delete license info for CS3

My father has CS3 installed on his machine and it's up and running etc.  He's been in touch with Adobe today (phoned the US from the UK) and they have given him a new serial number.
He tried uninstalling and reinstalling but it didn't ask him for a serial number upon reinstalling.  I assume that CS3 stores the license info on the hard disk or in the registry somewhere?  Does anyone know where so that I can tell him what to delete and get it to ask for his serial number when he next starts it up?
He wants to enter his new serial number and activate it.
    Cheers
    Pete
