I would recomend contacting the email support for the iTunes Store from the form at the bottom of this link:

In addition, if you are using an IMAP account, you may be able to show messages that have been marked for deletion, but haven't been expunged from the account yet. This article discusses it for users with Mail.app 2.x which comes with Mac OS X 10.4:

Did you change the Apple ID for an existing account? Or did you create a new Apple ID? If you created a new Apple ID, your balance will still be tied to the old account and you'll have to log into the iTunes Store using that old account to spend the balance. That’s not true at all.
Gift card is the carrier of the key duplicate - copy of the main key to the amount in dollars which in fact is stored on the Apple servers. This key the user of card need to assign to the needed account in Apple system. So if the card is not used the keys are not assigned to anyone.
Gift card in fact is just piece of plastic, it has no value until register - that’s why gift cards are not applicable to sales tax - by purchasing the gift cards you are not purchasing any goods at all.
And i'm very sure that when you purchasing iTunes gift card - it will need to be activated first before giving to purchaser hands - for example in UK where i purchased an iTunes gift card for their local iTunes Store - such cards always come with additional receipt of activation confirmation.
About replacing the lost card or getting the key of it.
This is very complicated thing. Theoretically Apple can easily replace your card or just give you the key of it - because Apple itself storing the keys and manufacture this gift cards. This is all about their will. On every card you can see a text: Not redeemable for cash, no refunds or exchanges (except as required by law). Cards are issued and managed by Apple Value Services, LLC (“Issuer”). Neither Apple nor Issuer is responsible for any loss or damage resulting from lost or stolen cards or use without permission.
So you will need to learn your local laws about refunding or exchanging - to return your money.
I have the same problem - i lost ten unused $100 cards during uninsured shipping and i'm interested at least to deactivate them. This is in fact a big problem with Apple Store system and this is about very Big $$$, not just some smidgen.

iTunes Support
and follow the instructions to report the issue to the iTunes Store. They usually will ask for a scan of the front and back sides of the card as well as a scan of the receipt, so you should contact the person who gave her the card and ask if they can send you a copy of the receipt. Many resellers provide a gift receipt for just this sort of purpose.

Lost a gift card, replaced but waiting for shipping, but.......

I still havent recived my gift card, i am moving tomorrow and wont be at the address where they are sending it too. I have been sent all over the place to diffrent people on the phone. I wont have a physical address for a month and a half because my house is still being built and will be living in a trailer on the land. The gift card is for 451.49. What im asking is if i can get the one you guys sent cancled and send me a egift card.

This shouldn’t be an issue for us to cancel the new gift card that was sent to you and reissue one to be sent to your new address, if needed. Using your email address you provided here on the forums, I was able to pull up your purchase history. It appears you called in shortly after posting to us here on the forums and may have received assistance with this already. Is this correct? Did you receive the gift card before your relocation?

I got a £25 I tunes gift card via email but when i click on the redeem now button it opens a apple page that sayd i need to have I Tunes on my computer in order to redeem my voucher?
Now i have uninstalled and re-installed the latest version of I Tunes over and over again but i still get the same message?

Lost itunes gift card

I bought a $25 itunes gift cards from Target last night and it was not in the bag when I got home. I have the receipt with the card# but obviously don't have the scratch-off activation number that's on the card. Is there any way to replace the card or activate it with the card# from the receipt?

Have you contacted Target?
My guess is that unless you return to the specific register you checked out at, and some kind service employee, or manager specifically made a note of a card left behind, you may be out of luck.
However, you may have some case since you have a receipt, I would go back and ask in person.

Cannot buy gift card

I'm trying to buy an e-mail gift card, but iTunes produces a loop with no way out but Cancel.
From the main menu, clicked Buy iTunes Gifts.
Clicked Buy Now next to Email Gift Certificates.
Filled in the form, selected $50, and clicked Continue.
Filled in my Apple ID and password.
On the verification screen, clicked Buy.
Got the verification screen again with a red text advisory to fill in my Apple ID and password and then click Account Info. But there's no interface for doing that.
Checked the previous page, came back, tried clicking Buy again. Same problem. Checked my account settings and verified my credit card info. Tried again. Same problem. Cannot buy gift card.
Any other suggestions?

Check to make sure you're connected to the correct country's iTunes Store. Go to the bottom of the iTunes Store main page (in iTunes) and look for the My Store pulldown and if it's incorrect, change it to your country. Note that the Store you're using must be the same one in which you have your account. You cannot purchase a gift card from another country's iTunes Store.

You should not try to redeem any longer! "Redeem" is what you did in the step above - what you called "loaded".
To use the value of the card, simply make a purchase from the iTunes Store. If you purchase something for your own personal use (not a gift, for example), then the cost will come from your store credit.
