Lost mail on Tiger upgrade-how to get it back?

I recently upgraded to Tiger and I've done something I'm not sure I can get out of! I have an external drive partitioned with a bootable backup on one partition and storage on the otehr that I copy new files to. When I upgraded to Tiger I copied over my files from the bootable backup. But when I opened Mail, everything from when I did my first daily backup (Nov 2006) was not there. This is because those files are on the other partition. So is there any way to get those files back in Mail with the others from the other partition?

I don’t understand what you say you’ve done, but you can import mailboxes in Mail doing File > Import Mailboxes.

I went to do the upgrade on my iPhone 4 And it said that I needed to restore my phone. I did and now there in nothing on my phone! No pictures, no contacts nothing! Is there anyway to get all my stuff back on my phone or is it lost forever? Please help me!

I also tried resetting settings all to no avail ...I looked up some advice and watched utube video advice on how to fix without success..

The Retrospect you used way back when is no longer around. The company was sold and that company produced a new version of Retrospect - Retrospect 8.x
So, as you've been told, you would have to be running a Tiger system with an old version of Retrospect software (5.x or 6.x - you would need to know) assuming you can find the software.
As best I can remember you cannot extract files from a Retrospect backup except using the software since Retrospect did not normally make a file by file backup rather it created an archive of the files in the backup. I'm assuming that the EMC/Retrospect people have told you that old Retrospect backups are not accessible by Retrospect 8.x?

if you set itunes to sync contacts to and from outlook or other mail programs then syncing it with itunes should be restored

The App store is a iOS function and cannot be deleted. Try checking other home screens/folders and see if you can locate it. If not, go into Settings>General>Reset>Reset Home Screen Layout.

Reinstall from the original source - the restore disks that came with the computer or from the App store if the computer did not come with disks

Try this ..
On your Mac open System Preferences > iCloud
Deselect the box next to: Notes
Then reselect it.
Give iCloud a few minutes to re sync the data.
Other than that, try Time Machine > http://pondini.org/TM/15m.html
