Lost Mobile Tracking System Software Development

Hi,
I'm Planning to do a project where i will be developing a Lost Mobile tracking system. The application would do the following:
Intimates the Change in SIM card with Registered Phone Handset.
Provides the new number of the Registered Phone Handset.
Intimates the current Location of the Registered Phone Handset...Is it possible to create one..
I would like to get some details regarding it..
Can anybody suggest any website for the development of this application software
Which language would be required to develop such kind of application..
How will the SIM interact wit the software???
What is the purpose Of the IMEI number??

You just totally don't have a clue about it do you? What makes you want to make it?
Start with looking at the Languages that are available for the environment you are choosing to develop: don't know the environment yet--well you have to make some decisions, so start making them--get out there and compare what languages are available on which phones.
Once you have that, then get a hold of the documentation for the language--yes, actually look at the API. You may even have to look at some of the phone technical specifications to get some of the answers that you want.
Well, does this sound like too much work? Then you know, it's more effort than we want to help you with too.
When and if you get to the point where you have some specific questions, instead of "I've not a clue get me up to speed." type, then I am sure there are many people on here that will be very willing to help you out.

I have the 5.5 Lightroom software on my I-Mac with OS-X, 10.9.3. It seems I have lost 850 pictures I was developing. It all started when was adding a folder. A new screen came up with no photos.  I went back to my external drive, trying to open the folder (containing the pictures I was working on), an icon "Thumbs" came up. When I click on it, a message "can't find the application" came up, there is no picture to be found. Please help.  Frustrated-George

I need to reinstall the system software on my older iMac. I have lost the system disks, though... so now what? It had 10.4. We moved, and I have looked everywhere. Am I doomed to find a way to buy it? Can taking it into the Apple Store fix it? Will it be expensive THERE? I've already saved all of the files I want off of it.... I just need it to work now.

You've lost me on why you need to reinstall Tiger, when you already have all the files you wanted (which means Tiger worked perfectly fine). If you want to upgrade to Leopard, that's a different issue: your Mac needs to meet the minimum system requirements for that, which you can easily determine.
If you just want to get a replacement set of Tiger install discs, you can try calling AppleCare and see if they're able to send you a replacement set, and if not, you'll have to buy a new set yourself. You can get them on eBay, Craigslist, and HardCore Mac (http://store.yahoo.com/hardcoremac/), although they sell it for ridiculous prices.

Given you have a backup you may want to think about erasing the hard drive and reinstalling Snow Leopard then restore your backup.

  • I have just upgraded to Snow Leopard and have lost my epson printer software. On Epson Aus. web page there is no upgrade of their software for my printer with Snow Leopard. Can i download a lesser operating system software for printer?

I have just upgraded to snow leopard and lost my epson printer software. I have checked Epson Aus web site for printer software but they haven't upgraded it for snow leopard. Am i able to download software for a lesser operating system then snow leopard or do i have to purchase a new printer? The model is stylus photo R310.

Have you tried the R300 or R320 software? Typically the software covers a broad spectrum of printers, often providinbg overlap to cover "relatives" of a series.

  • Where would someone turn if they think they may be interested in apple/mac software development for systems and applications?

Where would someone turn if they think they may be interested in apple/mac software development for systems and applications? I do have some experience with industrial machine control programming. Not that it directly applies, however I have been involved in some types of programming.

You might start by reading this: http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology/gamesblog/2009/feb/10/gameculture-apple
I would check out the refurbished section of the online Apple Store before buying a used one from Craislist. They go quickly so you have to check often. It will be more than sufficent for you to work with.
There are more than a few such books, go to a book store near you and browse them yourself to see which one works for you.
For items 3 and 4 wait until you are ready for a commercial app and then seek help from a lawyer and an accountant.

  • Software Development Management- How?

    Hi There,
Does anyone know of a good way to manage software development (in
    Labview)?
I've been the only programmer in Labview at my company, so tracking
software changes wasn't too bad. We recently hired a couple of
engineers who also program Labview. Now we're at a point where there
are many versions of the same software springing up. No one here has
any knowledge of software management tools available (except a
spreadsheet program, and a magnetic marker board).
Any links or suggestions are welcomed.
    Kind Regards,

A critical part of any source code management is the human level:
deciding which developer will touch what VIs! Then you choose a tool.
We use MS Visual SourceSafe and it works OK for 2 developers.
I've used it on my own for 3 years.
    Availabl
e standalone or as part of Visual Studio.
I also know people at a systems integrator (NI Alliance member) who use
it. They still use it for control of up to 20 developers' work.

  • Progress Tracking System

Hi, I built an elearning / product training module for a client in Flash (AS3, FP 10).
The client in the past had used software called "Knowledge Presenter" do deliver the modules via web and track whether someone had opened each swf in the project, and how long they stayed in it. They also had a quiz component, which I've rebuilt in as3, I'd like to record the results of the quiz, by passing a variable to the system and attach it somehow to that users account.
So basically I need: to be able to create users, track users progress which basically means telling if they loaded a section of the flash and how long they had it open for, store a score for each user.
Is there an Adobe solution that does this?

You are describing what a Learning Management System does.
Adobe has a pseudo-LMS called Connect which may do what you need.
Knowledge Presenter, which I think is Articulate's product, is very similar to Adobe Presenter, which is somewhat a companion lesson-development tool for Connect.
So you may be close to what you need...
If not, you should look at using the SCORM-tracking features of Knowledge Presenter and look for a SCORM-compliant LMS to house and track these lessons, as that's likely a more efficient approach then trying to redo all that by hand.
If you'd rather go custom, then I suppose you could create a tracking system using Adobe ColdFusion, or another web-development tool, and customize your lessons to send the needed data to that webservice...
    HTH
    Erik

  • Need help in Point-of-Sales software developing guide

i was required to developed a new Point-of-Sales software for my new company. however, i do not know where to start. i'm new to POS software, so if anyone who has experience in Point-of-sales software development, plz drop a hint or two for me.
i guess the biggest problem for me is to detecting and communicating with the Barcode Scanner, Receipt printer, Cash Drawer and Pole Display. i would appreciate for the advise on how to achieve this.
    tks

well, the things is like this:
the existing system is actually maintain by the ex-staff of the company. however, due to some unknown circumstances, all of them left within a very short period of time. and now, we were hired.
the whole things a mess. bugs everywhere. so the only solution the management would accept is to re-develop the whole POS and Inventory system. but non of us have any experience in developing such system and we don't have any documentation for the existing system. Now the management would like to see a prototype, a simple POS system that can perform simple operation - scan barcode, display the price at the pole display, 'kick-out' the cash drawer and print the receipt.
i have done a bit part of research, download some Java-based POS such as JPOS, JavaPOS, and FreeMercator. but i don't really get the idea of how to communicate with the devices. and now the management decided to change all the POS peripherals, so i can tell which brand that we are going to use.
    for your question:
Do you already have an inventory control system in place? yes, but no good. no doc as well.
If so you'll want to integrate with that, which could get hairy depending on the system. What's your intended architecture? each store will have their own database. however, they will export their data to the HQ every morning before business hour. the export process of the current system is to extract the data from the database to MS Access DB, then send to the HQ through email.
May I ask why you chose Java to develop this system in?Linux + Postgre + Java = minimum development cost. the company wanted to keep cost at the minimum level.
actually, i do not worry bout the inventory system. all i care is how to communicate with the devices, because this is the first time that i deal with all these POS devices.
besides, i'm not sure if i have to pay attention to any thing like drivers, or whatever standard, etc... and it will be the most appreciate if you can show me (or links to websites) some sample of how to detect and communicating the devices.
lastly, many tks to you for your advice ;)
    have a nice day
    Jerry
