I updated both iTunes and OS for our iPad1, now lost movies tab in Video app.
in Itunes, the device shows all 27 files, but when trying to access them from the pad, all I have is a TV shows tab, no movies tab.
    Any ideas?

  • Lost movies and want to recover them.

Several months ago my laptop completely crashed. Hard drive had to be completely replaced. Now that I have it back I reinstalled iTunes on it and recovered my music, TV shows, and apps for my iPod Touch 4th generation. But the spot that is annoying me is that I lost all the movies that I did not have on my iPod before the computer crashed. So far as I've found I can not recover them but I was hoping someone might have a suggestion. I've tried the purchased area in the iTunes Store but it doesn't offer the movie section. Please if anyone has any ideas I would be most grateful to hear them. Also for some reason my laptop will not download the latest update for my iPod Touch.

If your external hard drive is formatted NTFS, it is read-only as far as the Mac OS is concerned — you can't write anything to it unless you install a third-party NTFS driver such as NTFS-3G, Tuxera NTFS, or Paragon NTFS, or you reformat the drive in FAT32, ExFAT, or Mac OS Extended format. FAT32 format has a 4GB file size limit, so if any of the files you want to save on the external drive is larger than 4GB, don't use that format. ExFAT doesn't have that limitation and is cross-platform readable (Mac and Windows). Mac OS Extended is the native format for Macs, but Windows can't read it without a special driver, MacDrive. So which format to use will depend on what computers you want to use the external drive with.

  • Lost movie in crash, but on iPod - How to get back to laptop?

I bought a movie on my laptop iTunes and synched it to my iPod and my husband's iPhone. A week or so later my laptop hard drive crashed. Yes, I had not run a back-up in between. My bad. We lost no other content - just this movie. It shows up in iTunes with an exclamation mark next to it, and when you click on it iTunes asks me to locate the file. I have tried the "Transfer Purchases" option in the File menu to try to force iTunes to synch the movie from my iPod back to the laptop, but to no avail. How can I move/copy the movie from my iPod or iPhone back to iTunes on my laptop?

Delete the entry in iTunes that is what is stopping the transfer from the iPod, as iTunes thinks it is already there.
    1. Delete the entry in iTunes
    2. Connect the iPod but do not let the iPod automatically sync.
    3. Make sure that iTunes is logged into the same account that purchased the movie originally.
    3. Use the 'Transfer Purchases' option, which should now work as iTunes will see that the movie is not in its database.

  • Converting purchased Lost movie from my APPLE to my PC.

Can anyone help? I use a Apple computer and a windows computer. I purchase the first and second seasons of LOST on my Apple computer. I would like to play them on my PC. IS THIS POSSIBLE WITHOUT PURCHASING FROM MY PC?
Seems like I should be able to convert from a .MOV to whatever format the Windows plays them in. I am not even shure what format the Windows uses if you download a movie from ITUNES.
    Thanks in advance, Dave.

DRM stand for Digital Rights Management - all iTMS purchases are drm'ed, preventing those files to be converted.
The files itself are the same regardless if bought using a mac or a windoze PC - just transfer those files.

  • Lost movies bought on itunes

As i changed my computer i lost the short movies i bought on itunes.Where are the movie files in the itunes files(name?) and how can i get it back or is it lost...Itunes is deffinitely not a sure system when changing computer(even by using the automatic transfer by starting my new mac).As i have the movies on my ipod , can i put them back from my ipod to my computer or is this forbiden and restricted???All this tells me buying this DRM files with control by apple is not a safe thing.....!Thank's for help.

Did you authorize your new computer with your iTunes account? You need to do that to play previously purchased downloads, after if you've copied/migrated them to your new computer (and you can have up to 5 computers authorized at a time). Go to iTunes > Store menu > Authorize Computer.
Movies are stored in yourhomefolder/Music/iTunes/iTunes Library/Movies. TV Shows are stored in yourhomefolder/Music/iTunes/iTunes Library/TV Shows.
    Hope this helps...

  • How to download lost movies

I recently lost all my music and movies on an external HDD. Does anyone know how I can pull music off my iPhone and how can I get my movies back? Some were digital copies I received when I bought Bluray movies and some were bought on iTunes.

The easiest way to get back missing items?  Restore your whole hard drive with all your irreplaceable things like photos in about 20 minutes from the backup clone you make on a regular basis.  That is the only guaranteed method for ensuring you get it all back.
Downloading (using iOS or computer) past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519 - enabled with iTunes 10.3 and newer; not all media formats are available in all countries (see: iTunes in the Cloud and iTunes Match Availability by Country - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5085 ); apps, books (not audiobooks), music, t.v. shows, and movies (some - not all studios have permitted this).  Downloading previously purchased movies and TV shows requires iTunes 10.6 or later.  Discontinued items not available. For items not included in the iCloud list (e.g., ringtones, audiobooks), or locations or computer systems where iCloud is not (yet?) available, you only get one download per fee paid.  Apple recommends  "you always back up your iTunes library in the event that a purchased item is no longer available on the iTunes Store."
Select the iTunes Store on the left side of iTunes if you have the sidebar displayed, or with the button at the top right.
Click on Purchased on the right side under Quick Links.
You can re-download your available previous purchases.
    iTunes 11:
Menu  > View > Show Sidebar
    Left side, "purchased" under "Store"

  • Lost movie rentals

I recently rented 2 movies using Apple TV.  After renting and downloading the movies I lost connection with Apple TV and had to restart. Now the movies are no longer there.  These 2 movies were downloaded and rented on Tuesday March 13, 2012. I also received a receipt from itunes confirming my purchase.
Can I get these rentals back?  Why di they disappear?
    v

AppleTV 2 and 3 (the new one) do not have any permanent storage.
They are designed as streaming devices from the internet or iTunes on your LAN.
I would advise against renting more than 1 title at a time (unless in iTunes on computer to play on AppleTV).
AppleTV 2/3 download rentals on the fly - if your connection is fast you'll be able to play immediately (>2.5Mbps for SD, >6 Mbps for 720p HD and >8 Mbps for 1080p HD).  Now while the AppleTV may buffer an entire movie into solid state memory, this is not protected so doing other things on AppleTV that use memory can flush the downloaded portion.  If you rent more than 1 and they're HD I supect they will be competing for available storage space.
Somehwere in Setting there used to be a check for downloads or purchases type option.
The rentals should in theory still be there - you have 30 days to view, however once you start you get 24 or 48 hours to finish viewing depending on where you live (24 hours US, 48 hours UK).
If you have a slow connection you may be better off renting SD or 720p HD, or alternatively rent in iTunes on the computer as they will be stored on the computer until they expire (in Uk at least the store often only has SD rentals for odd reasons with teh HD versions available on ipad or appletv).  Once the rentals have downloaded on the computer providing Home Sharing is active they should then be playable under the Computers menu on the AppleTV under a rentals category.

  • 4.2 Upgrade, Lost Movie Functionality

Ok, this is really strange. Just updated to 4.2 on my 3GS and i've lost all functionality for movies. I mean, the icon for movies has GONE off the phone, all of the options in settings that relate to movies have just gone, if i search for movies that i know are synced to the phone, they don't show up?!
Checked all the settings in iTunes, nothing unusual, i've checked that parental controls have not somehow been activated, i've re-synced content. It's like the 'Movie Abilities' have just been removed.
Just restoring my phone to see if that fixes it, absolutely bizarre!

Was your calendar data blown away from your MobileMe online calendar as well?
Was your calendar data also blown away from iCal on your Mac?
If so, no backup for your iCal data on your Mac is maintained? No Time Machine backup or any other backup with iCal including a quick and easy export iCal Archive feature for iCal data backup purposes?

  • Lost movie

Just bought iMovie 09 today. Spent five hours working on a video for work. Then my computer froze. When I rebooted the movie was not in the Project Library in the application. Yet movie file was/is in the project folder with other (older) movies (They are all fine). Any suggestions how to repair the file or save my hours of work? It was just slides with music and some maps. No high def. video. I really don't want to start over.
    Please help! Thanks

I hate to tell you this, but there seems to be some issues with auto save feature. In the future, i suggest closing imovie and testing the save before investing too much time on a project. I would search in the folder called imovie projects though or hit search for all movies and scan for projects by todays date.
There could be a temp file -- if you don't get a response from appleman1958 or Karsten...you might be out of luck or call apple, they might know where the temp files are stored. see this:

  • Has anyone lost movies in i-movie with OS X 10.10.3 update?

I updated my OS X software 10.10.3 about 2 weeks ago. At the same time I did a recovery update and a week later I did a the OS X supplement update.
Since that time I am unable to find 3 years of i-movie videos that were uploaded. I had 2 file name for i-movie....."i-movie" and "i-movie1". Everything from i-movie1 is missing. I back up, but am currently in process of trying to retrieve, but fearful I won't be successful. Is it possible that the software update deleted one of the file names? Any suggestions?

  • Lost Movies with 7.0

I have well over 50 movies on my iPod. Since I upgraded to iTunes 7.0 I have no idea where they are filed any more.
In iTunes I select the "Movies" category, all are displayed in the right-hand panel but double-clicking on any movie the system cannot find it.
Any idea where they are now? I've done a Windows search to no avail; I've right-clicked on a movie in the side panel and selected "Info" no luck there either.
    I'd appreciate any advice.

  • Lost movie rentals on iTunes

I have rented two movies from iTunes in the past 24 hours and got part way through both and then they have gone.
I have tried checking my downloads with no evidence of rentals just purchased movies.
It was giving me a dialog box stating an error with iTunes but it seems that the error has not been amended because despite iTunes now being available the movies are no where to  be found. Can anyone help?

What device did you rent the movies from.
Keep in mind you have only a 24 hour rental period from the time you first start watching the movie.
