Lost .msi file

I'm trying to update iTunes to connect with my iPhone 4S but the .msi file is missing. How can I get it for the 10.5.1.42?
I get the iTunes.msi is missing error.
Nevermind ... found it ^_^

Try the following steps:
1. Go to Microsoft website to fix install and Unistall problems. Click "Run now" from Fix it to remove all iTunes & related installer files:
http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall
Be aware that Windows Installer CleanUp Utility will not remove the actual program from your computer. However, it will remove the installation files so that you can start the installation, upgrade, or uninstall over.
2. You should remove all instances of iTunes and the rest of the components listed below:
it may be necessary to remove all traces of iTunes, QuickTime, and related software components from your computer before reinstalling iTunes.
Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order:
iTunes
QuickTime
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support
Bonjour
Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
Follow the instructions from Apple article listed here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923 to remove all components
3. Reboot your computer. Next, download iTunes from here:http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ and install from scratch

  • Missing .MSI File

I haven't updated or used itunes in a while and when I went to start it up I was told to update it, of course apple constantly makes improvements. So I did as instructed and when it came to installing the new update an error accorded stating that my itunes.msi file was missing so I read up and all I could find was to uninstall everything. So as I doing the uninstalls I ran into a problem apparently you can't install uninstall or update itunes without an itunes.msi file so I can lost. I haven't ever uninstalled itunes since I bought the computer back in February so I have been kind a stuck the last week and I am about to go nuts. All my files are stranded and I have no way of getting to them.
All it keeps saying is missing itunes.msi file

Missing msi problems usually respond to cleaning up installer files with the Microsoft Installer clean up utility.
    here is a method:
    == uninstall with cleanup ==
Download a fresh copy of iTunes and the stand alone version of Quicktime (the one without iTunes)
    http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/win.html
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Save the files on your PC.
Download and install Microsoft Installer cleanup utility, there are instructions on the page as well as the download. Note that what you download is the installer not the program – you have to run it to install the program. The installer doesn't give any message to confirm the installation.
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301/
(To run the program – All Programs>>Windows Install)
Now use the following method to remove iTunes and its components:
    XP
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925
    Vista
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923
*If you hit a problem with one of the uninstalls don't worry*, carry on with the deleting of files and folders as directed in the method.
When you get to deleting Quicktime files in the system32 folder as advised in the method, you can delete any file or folder with Quicktime in the name.
    Restart your PC.
Run the Microsoft Installer Cleanup Utility. (Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up)
Remove any references you find to the programs you removed - strictly speaking you only need to worry about those programs where the uninstall failed.
If you don’t see an entry for one of the programs that did not uninstall, look out for blank entries or numeric entries that look like version numbers e.g. 7.x for Quicktime or 1.x for Bonjour.
    restart your PC
Install the stand alone Quicktime and check that it works.
    If it does, install iTunes.

  • I Lost itunesmsi' file how do i get it back

I lost itunes msi' file for windows XP how do I get it back.

If it is online and you set up Find my iPod before you lost it go to the cloud and activate Find my iPod. You can also disable your iPod so a thief will not be able to use / access your stuff. If offline, you'll have to go looking for it like it was a lost wallet or purse. Report it lost / stolen to the police, and disconnect from this iPod, change all accounts and passwords to prevent a thief from accessing your stuff. The anti-activation with stop a thief if you had it active. Hope this helps, Good luck. Cheers.

If the iPod has been restored it will never show up or continue to show off-line.

  • Issues using msi files packaged by Creative Cloud Packager.

But when I try installing the products by doublecklicking the msi file, it doesn't install. It will only install if I doubleclick on the Setup file. And since I can't find a sillent install command line for that, and need to package this for use from SCCM 2012, it's no good. Also, I need a silent uninstall command for the product's, since the product codes can't be found in the registry under HKLM:\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall, I'm not sure where to find the uninstall string either. Had a support chat for more than 50 minutes with an adobe engineer that was not very helpful at all and the chat ended abruptly without any resolution for me...

    Hi Annette,
If I understand you correctly, you are trying to install a by Double clicking on MSI package.
If you are looking for the Command that you should use to install, here it is:"msiexec.exe /i <pkg_name>.msi /quiet". Make sure you are already in that directory where you have this MSI package while running this in command prompt
Here is another link which you can refer around Creative Cloud packager: Creative Cloud Help | Packager

  • Please help me recover a lost PDF file from Adobe Reader XI

    Hi,
I was filling out a VA form 5655 in Adobe, and twice today, I lost my file and I just cannot type all of this stuff again, because I had to do so much math and typing and more math.  All of a sudden "bloop", it was gone.  When I try to go into file, then revert, revert is not highlighted.  I tried pulling up history and it said there was no history.  I just don't know what else to do, and I need this for the morning.  Please help?  Thanks

    Hi Pat,
I filled it out directly from the blank PDF online, and never got a chance
to save the whole document.  I did however save it about 1/2 way through,
but yet cannot find that 1/2 of the document either.  Thanks.

  • Extract msi file from Adobe Reader 9

I distribute Adobe Reader throughout the enterprise using the Customization utility. In past, up to and including Adobe Reader 8 I have been able to extract the msi file by finding the needed files in the
%temp% folder. I am finding that is not true with Adobe Reader 9. Is there another method (other than doing a full install) of extracting the
acroread.msi file for version 9? Please do not refer me to the extraction process for version 8 that is what I am using with not success. Just wondered if there was another method.
    Thanks in Advance

Run the Acrobat Reader setup file and pause it after the setup starts. Now go to %userprofile%\Local Settings\Application Data\Adobe\Reader 9.0\Setup Files\READER9 and there are all the setup files. Copy all these files and you will now be able to use the custom setup wizard for 9 to make any customizations and deploy.
    Good luck!

i am trying to install itunes 10.5 but I get an error message that says "click ok to try again or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package iTunes.msi..." I try to point iTunes to the .msi file on my c drive but then it gives me  a message says "the file location is not a valid installation packaage for the product iTuness.  Try to find the installation package 'itunes.msi' in a folder from which you can install iTunes".  Any help, insight, guidance would be greatly appreciated!!

"The feature you are trying to use in on a network resource that is unavailable. Enter alternate path to a folder containing the installation package itunes64.msi".
Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):

To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • Itunes continues to offer update to latest version, but after about 10 minutes, gives message that "service is unavailable" (.msi file is not found)  What is going on?

    Good morning everyone,
Since the most current version of itunes has become available for update, I will periodically get update notices to upgrade my existing version of itunes.
The problem (which, BTW, has never happened before in the 2 - 3 years I've had itunes on my WIN XP Pro SP3 computer)...is the update will proceed normally for about 10 minutes, then a dialog box opens stating that "A network resource needed is unavailable."  It also offers the option to look elsewhere for a particular .msi file which it claims it cannot find (at the C:\...\.. link it displays...with a [BROWSE] button beside it.
Does ANYONE have ANY idea just what is happening here and how to resolve this very, increasingly-annoying, issue?  As I indicated earlier...this issue has NEVER happened before.  ALL previous updates have completed without incident.  I have also tried doing updates from other Internet sites with the same unacceptable results.
NOTE:  Itunes is ONLY on my WIN XP Pro computer.  I have NO Ipad, Ipod, Iphone, etc.
Thank you for your time and any enlightenment!

    Many thanks.

  • I can't download iTunes because of a missing Quicktime.msi file

After I upgraded iTunes via the latest auto update offering, I was having problems with iTunes hanging on opening and generally lagging. So I (stupidly) removed the program from my computer (which is a PC running Windows XP btw) and tried to redownload it. Still the same problem so I followed the Aple guide to completely removing the program from my computer. Bonjour wouldn't remove, although I've since managed to get rid of it.
The problem is, no matter how many times I try to clear out the files, when I redownload iTunes it won't load because it's looking for the Quicktime.msi file, which is missing. Quicktime won't download because it is also looking for the .msi file (which to my thinking it should be downloading as part of the installation anyway). Eventually, I tried reinstalling Quicktime through a Carbonite online file backup. I succeeded in getting the much in demand .msi file but Quicktime still wouldn't load. Neither will iTunes. Now when I try to load either, I'm getting the message that the file Quicktime.msi is "not part of a recognised installation package". I've moved the file to several different locations, user specific and all users, but the same message keeps coming up. Meanwhile, I'm stuck with no iTunes and therefore no Iphone synching either, so no way to access my podcast downloads.
If anybody knows of a work around that will let me get iTunes back on my computer I would be grateful.

Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center on June 25. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (The results from mydigitallife and Major Geeks are worth checking.)
After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Bonjour and QuickTime entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp. Restart the PC, and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • Multiple Copies of iTunes.MSI file

I am in the process of cleaning up my older Sony Vaio system disk (XP Home), and noted I have multiple copies of iTunes.msi and Quick Time.msi files in a subdirectory entitled *'downloaded installations'*. Some dates go back to 2005. Is it advisable to delete older versions or are all versions/dates necessary to remain on the system? I also noted many ipod updater files from 2006. Are these necessary along with *restore.jpsw files to be kept? I'm hoping there is a concise file listing of whats really necessary to keep vs. install or update leftover files. Most of these are 35Meg+ so I have a lot of disk space being used right now for these older files.
    Thanks in advance...............

I never noticed theose before! I had several. I got rid of them all after a quick google convinced me I'll never need them again.

  • Error while AutoCheckin a MSI File.

    Hi,
We are trying to Autocheckin an MSI File as part of the Build. The Method we are using is the below.
    workspace.CheckIn(workspace.GetPendingChanges(), "Build Agent", "***NO_CI***",
null, null, new PolicyOverrideInfo("Auto checkin", null),
                    CheckinOptions.SuppressEvent);
    Ref: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb139040.aspx
But somehow we are getting the below error.
Exception Message: TF400961: You are attempting to create a user named "Build Agent" during checkin but lack the required permissions to do so. (type VersionControlException)
We are clueless what we need to do here. We need immediate resolution on this.

You can try get user by using TFS
IIdentityManagementService's ReadIdentity method. You may need to impersonate user. Also you can use network credentials to authenticate user to use api. I would prefer
    this
    CheckIn method (without author).
