Lost music for undetermined reason.

For no apparent reason, half of my songs have disappeared---mainly those I synced from CD's. Purchased music from iTunes is still there. Technical support has no answer as to why this happened and thinks the only way to recover the songs is through 3rd-party hardware or re-syncing from CD's. Any feedback/suggestions appreciated.

Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was planned with you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself properly backed up against loss. Syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchases which can be transferred to a computer.

Yeah so I just came on to my laptop one day and itunes wouldnt open.When I look into things I find that its disappeared completely, taking with it every last bit of my music. Everything. What do you mean by charger? Cable? Wall charger?

Mini loses music for no reason, then indicates no battery power

this may be two problems, but they seem to be related.
The original problem was that despite being fully charged, when I turn the mini on, it would say no battery power and then power down. I soon realized there was battery power and that you just had to keep turning it on and it would eventually stay on (most times)- annoying but not the end of the world until problem 2 occured.
NOW I HAVE A HUGE PROBLEM. The mini inadvertenly loses all of the music (it's backed up). It doesn't seem to have anything to do with my pc, because I loaded the music, went for a run and then the battery powered down in the middle of the run. So I powered it back up, and NO MUSIC,NO PLAYLISTS- NOTHING.
I did the 5 R's, BTW.

And, as this thread mentions, the player actually keeps playing (you can see the time counter going) but there is no sound. This is how it works on my Tour.
I installed another player, Mobiola xPlayer, and guess what ....exactly the same problem with the sound stopping in the same places.

I should be elite but my status isn't and I autoredeemed a $35 cert and lost it for some reason.

Is there any reason why this happened or should I wait till after the Black Friday chaos to get it fixed or will it be fixed after it.

My ipod touch shuts off during music for no reason

My ipod touch started shutting off in the middle of songs this morning - its fully charged and had been working fine up to this point. I shut it down and restarted it but that did not solve the problem - any suggestions?

I have tried to sync my Iphone with my current Itunes and for some reason not all of my music is transferring to my Iphone. Some songs that were on my phone previously, are now not transferring. Any ideas?

iTunes will only copy back iTunes purchased music. If you don't still have a copy of the music that you copied from CDs or bought from other stores anywhere (e.g. on another computer or on your backup of your library) then there are some third-party programs listed half-way this page which should be able to copy them back : Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.

How do I get all of the music on my computer to transfer to my Iphone? For some reason, itunes has picked up some songs but not others. example, I have several CD's loaded in which only 1 or 2 songs from the CD shows up in itunes.

I have about 70 Cd's loaded on my computer as I had previously owned another MP3 device before I got enamored with the Ipad and Iphone. My problem is itunes will not recognize all of this music. To give a specific example, I have an old Bon Jovi Cd "crossroads" , itunes only recognizes 2 songs off the Cd. How can I get itunes to recognize these songs? It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for this very occasion.
Use your backup copy to put everything on the computer, then sync.
If for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup, not good, then you can transfer itunes purchases from your iphone to your computer - File>Devices>Transfer Purchases

If Other (the yellow bar) is too big something is corrupted. The only solution (that I know of) is to restore from your most recent backup using iTunes (see http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766).

It doesn't matter what it is in your backup that's causing the problem because you can not selectively restore things from your backup. It's all or nothing.
Set you phone up as a new device and start over.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
