Lost music purchased on iphone!

I have my phone set to manually manage my music, and I recently bought a song on the phone, later connecting to my computer and hitting sync, to sync my contacts and presumably the purchased music. Now I cannot find the song on either the phone or the computer. Anyone?

I have had this happen a couple of times. Call customer care and let them know the situation. They will add the song into your account queue to be available for download the next time you start iTunes.

  • ITunes does not allow music purchased on iPhone to be sent to my computer

So, I "purchased" (thankfully only FREE songs) two songs on my iPhone and I was told I could simply download them onto the computer when i connected. Well I can't, so I tried to download again but it told me they were already downloaded and should be there....they weren't. I followed the instructions to "check for available downloads" and I was told there weren't any.
Long story short the ONLY way I can get those two songs is to download them again. THANKFULLY it is a MONDAY and they are STILL FREE!!!
***?? seriously Apple, help me out here. I suppose I MIGHT NEVER MAKE A PURCHASE ON THE GO since i cannot have that song to play on my AUTHORIZED Computer. Guess that will help me not make too many purchases!!!!!

iTunes does not allow music purchased on iPhone to be sent to my computer
    Yes it does.
    Well I can't,
    Why not? What happens?
I followed the instructions to "check for available downloads" and I was told there weren't any. Because you already downloaded them to your phone. You only get one download.
Plug in your iPhone, select it in iTunes then File > Transfer purchases.

  • Did an update and lost music purchased from the iPhone?

OK, updated a friends iPhone, it appeared to backup and all but when it it was done the music purchased from the phone was missing?? Is it hidden somewhere I can get it back onto her phone? I figured it was like apps that have been bought, once you buy them you can download them again..Guess that's not the case!! also some apps where missing. but that was easy enough to put back on, just a pain!

    Not the iphone back up.
Everyone should always keep a back up copy of their important info on an external source - external drive, flash drive, dvd, cd, etc.
If you do not back up, you will likely lose it at some point.
Itunes prompts you to back up on occasion. You can click "Support" at the top of this page and type back up. You can use the help feature in itunes.
You can copy the entire itunes folder.
Please back up. I am amazed that some do not back up their info.
It will save a lot of frustration in the future.

  • How does one retrieve a lost music purchased list?

It seems that I've lost my music purchased list and I'm wondering if there's anyway of retrieving it through Apple?

Sorry, but I'm not clear on what you're asking. Do you mean that the Purchased playlist is gone? If that's what you mean, just create a new Smart Playlist with Kind = Protected AAC audio file. That will recollect all your purchased music.
If that's not what you meant, please post back and explain your difficulty further.
    Regards.

  • Music purchased on iPhone is unable to play on Macbook pro.

I purchased some music on my iPhone, recently and awhile back. Most of the songs are now starting to pop up on my Macbook pro as unable to play file because original fiile cannot be found. The songs are listed on my iTunes on my Mac but there is a symbol next to the song of an exclamation point.

Sounds like the songs are not there anymore or the location of where your iTunes library points to has been changed.  You can redownload songs you have purchased by going to the Purchased link in iTunes Store.  You could also just do a search on your hard drive for the music and then change where your iTunes library is pointing to in order to play the files.

  • Music Purchased on Iphone will not sync to computer

    Hi ,
I have purchased music on my iphone before and it has appeared on my mac itunes library.
i manage my music and vids manually and have downloaded before since i owned an iphone.
i read that if i buy the same album from the music store i will not get charged twice? is that true?

    Hello j1s,
In order for the Transfer Purchases to work, you need to be logged into the same iTunes ID on the computer that the purchased content on the iPhone was purchased under:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848
On the iPhone, when you purchase a song from the iTunes Store, what iTunes ID are you using?
If it is the same as the one on the computer, try the following:
Download the Free Single of the Week from the iTunes Store.
Play the song in iTunes on the computer.
Try the "Transfer purchases" option in the Store Menu again.

  • Lost music purchases, through iTouch

    Hey all.
Have a slight problem with tracking down my music purchases on my iTouch.
I downloaded a full album, by Adema, listened to it happily this morning.
Only now I've realised as I've gone to put it back on, I only have three songs, of the album, left on my iTouch.
Not quite sure why this has happened, checked my purchase history to clarify I wasn't going insane and yep it clearly states I've purchased and downloaded the entire album.
Had a little look about, but couldn't find anything to help resolve this problem, so if anyone would be kind enough to point me in the right direction of be able to resolve this I'd be very greatful.
    Thanks all.
P.S Bare in mind I downloaded these straight through the iTouch, so I have no copy of them on my iTunes, that is on my laptop.

Do you have the iPod set to automatically Sync?
If you do then the music should have been copied back to iTunes when you connected the iPod.
Note that tracks are removed from the Store Purchased Playlist on the iPod when they are synced to iTunes. if you want them on the iPod then you need to make sure they are included in the sync settings you have set up for the iPod.
Check on iTunes under the Album name rather than the Artist name as well sometimes there can be different Artists on the same album so they do not appear together on the iPod in the Artist area.

  • TS4036 Music purchased on Iphone after a restore.

I have just completed a restore, after backing up my phone on cloud and my mac, but havent sync'd my music and apps for some time.
As pretty much all my music was purchased on my iphone, I cannot seem to retreive it, have i lost it all?
I though i would have all my music and apps sync automatically, which i was led to believe from an apple store worker?
    Cheers

If you restore your phone from your iCloud backup, at the end it will restore the apps and music that were on the phone at the time it was backed up, assuming they are still available in the iTunes & app stores.  (The backup doesn't actually contain your apps, it just notes which apps and purchased music were on the phone.  When you restore to the backup, it re-downloads them from the iTunes and app stores if they are still available.)

  • Music purchased via iphone now on pc itunes

I have recently purchased 2 albums via my iphone - great no problems. I then synced my phone with itunes on my pc. The two albums moved from my phone to my pc and I cannot get them back??? Does anyone have the answer?

I would say it may have to do with how you have the settings in iTunes for syncing your music. Make sure that once you have the music in iTunes, you have it set to sync to the iPhone.

  • Lost music purchased on iTouch

One feature I love about my iTouch is that I can purchase music straight off of my iTouch; however, when I do connect it to a computer it tends to disappear. I have called and was told that the music goes into my library, but I can't find it there. I can find the proof of purchase, but I can't find the songs in my library. I have iTunes on my home and work computers.
What am I doing wrong? Where could my music be? Or should I just purchase music from my computer and know it goes in that library?

Yeah, this is a common issue, unfortunately.
What you can do, to try to stop it, is, as soon as you plug your iPod into your computer and it is recognized, right click (or ctrl-click on Mac) on the device name in iTunes and select "Transfer Purchases." This will force any purchased content that is on the iPod, but not in iTunes, down to your hard drive. Since I started doing this (6 months ago), I haven't lost anything.
As the other poster said, if you speak to Apple, they should allow you to redownload the songs for free. If they didn't offer that, I would give them another call.
Hopefully the "transfer purchases" thing will help you stop this in the future. And maybe eventually they will fix it.

  • How to remove music purchased on iPhone from both iTunes and iPhone?

Extremely frustrating and I can't seem to find an answer. I purchased an album on iTunes, and I actually don't want most of the songs from the album unfortunately. I bought it on my iPhone, and I want to get rid of the songs that are bad.
When I delete them from my iTunes and then sync, the first thing it does is redownload all the ones that were deleted. I have tried only selected songs and playlists, and it still doesn't work.
Key thing is that I DON'T want these songs anymore, and I can't get my new music onto it without it redownloading all the bad songs. Help please?

Attempting what I think might work in case someone else encounters this problem.
First, allow all of the songs to be synced back onto your computer that you deleted.
Second, uncheck all of the songs from that album, or in the music section of the device page select all artists except for the ones that are in the album.
Third, sync with the iPhone, and make sure either only selected songs, playlists, etc. is clicked or only checked songs.
Fourth, these songs should be off of your phone, in this case delete them off of your computer and then they should be gone forever.
    Will reply with the results.

  • Syncing music purchased on iPhone

I have purchased a few songs using my iPhone. When I connect my iPhone to my computer it does not autoamticcaly ask to transfer purchased content. I am set to manually manage music. Is that causing the problem. What do I need to do? Thank you.

I did and it said the computer is already authorized. What else can I try?
If you have more than one AppleID, authorize the computer with the account used to purchase those songs from the iTunes Store.
You can also check your iTunes Store Purchase History, that will tell you if the songs were purchased with the AppleID you are currently signed-in with. This article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2727 will walk you through the process.

  • Restoring music purchased on iphone

Hi - I had a problem with my iphone and had to have it reset to factory settings/wiped clean. I was able to restore my contacts/notes/apps from a backup on I had on my office pc (which I had only used to sync my calendar and nothing else). All of the music I purchased directly on my iphone is gone from my iphone. Along with my entire library. I did not have a backup for the library since we no longer have the laptop I used when I set it up.
My husband and I had been sharing 1 itunes account for purchases, which I think now isn't a good idea. I want to create my own separate itunes account. I am planning on creating a second user account on my home PC so that I can set up a separate itunes account.
Is there a way to get back the music I purchased on my iphone using my husband's itunes account? The purchases show up in my husband's purchase history on his itunes account.
    thanks!

In the iTunes App there is a tab called Purchased. You'll find your musics there.

  • Music purchased on iphone gone

I purchased 1 song using wifi on my phone. It dissappeared when I plugged my phone into the pc and it "synched". it is not in my purchased list on the in itunes, either under the phone or my regular itunes purchased list.
I sumbmitted a problem from my purchase history, but surely this is a known problem?
    iphone 3g v2.1
    itunes 8.0.0.35

I just called Apple about this same issue. The music transferred from the phone to the computer.
When you get the sync summary screen, at the top, go to music, check to sync music, and check what needs to be transferred back. It took two tries on my because I let it lock the screen and had to start over again, but the music is now on both my phone and my computer.
    Hope this helps
