Lost music when syncing

Can anyone tell me what happened when i synced my phone to my boyfriends computer to download a movie on Itunes and all my music in my IPOD app disappeared and got replaced by his music? Now I can't get my music back. Does anyone know how to get my music back?

Iphone will sync itunes content to one computer. If you sync to another, ti will erase the current content from iphone and replace with content from the new computer.
Your music should be on the computer with which you normally sync. Just sync it back to the iphone.

music i have purchased on my iphone gets wiped when i sync to computer it wont go back to iphone i have tried logging out and transferring any ideas???? i am on windows vista!

iTunes > Store menu. Deauthorize your computer, then Authorize your computer. Then, make sure you are signed into your iTunes Store account. You must be using the same account that was used to purchase the music (the account on the iPhone is set by the active account on the computer the iPhone is synced to).
If you lost music, see this page:

  • Lost notes when syncing

When syncing to new 4 i-phone everything synced but notes

I just lost all my notes on my iPhone 4S when I synced. They disappeared on my computer too but remain on my iPad? Checked both and have Notes synced to iCloud. Before I synced, the iPhone has been missing all but one recent note and I couldn't figure out why it was different from the iPad and computer. That is why I synced only to lose the one that was on there. Afraid to sync iPad since it is the only one left with all the notes intact.

  • Lost music when I syncing

I synced my phone and must have done something wrong, my purchased music is gone. It is not on the itunes in the computer either. Can I restore music purchased from the itunes store? Could it be hidden on my computer? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

If you downloaded it via iTunes, it should still be in your music folder on your computer. If you downloaded it via the iPhone then its gone.
However, if you go to your email receipt and click the "report a problem" link you will be able to explain the situation to the iTunes store personnel and they might be able to help you. I had this happen to me once and they re-enabled the song for download on my account.

  • HT204074 Lost Music on Sync operation.

I seem to have lost ALL of my music from my iPhone after a sync operation to my macbook pro.  When I open the music icon on my phone, it is empty and states no music, playlists, albums or songs.  Over 1100 songs gone.  I did subscribe to iTunes match just prior to the sync but nothing is in my cloud under music.  There is no music found on my computer either.  In cyberspace I guess.  Any suggestions?  I would greatly appreciate any help.

Leave the iPod set on "Enable Disk Usage" or "Manual Update" whichever you choose and use a third party program to copy the ipod like yamipod http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93499

  • Can i retrieve all my lost music after syncing to a new computer

just backed up my ipad to my new macbook and have lost all my music..help..devastated :/

If you synced to a new iTunes library that did not contain all of your music and didn't transfer the music first, then that would cause you to lose all of your music. You can only sync what is already in the iTunes library. If the library is empty when you sync, that erases your device.
But what puzzles me is that you should have gotten a message from iTunes alerting you that the contents would be erased if you synced the iPad. Did you get the message? If you did, did you ignore it and why would you ignore it if you did get it?
If the music was purchased from iTunes, you may be able to download much of it again for free as long as you use the same Apple ID that you bought it with. Read this for more information.

If the music was imported from CD's and you no longer have the CD's or the old computer, there is no way to retrieve it.

  • Lost info when syncing iphone 5

I got a new I phone 5, 2 months ago.The salesperson transferred all my info to new phone. I had been charging my phone by an outlet. I finally got around to plugging it into my computer to sync it. I have seemed to have deleted all my music and some contacts and several apps by doing this. I have no idea what I did or how to retrieve anything. Help.

    You're welcome.
You obviously don't know what a run-on sentence is and there are only two questions.
I'll try to be more precise or put this in a way you can understand.
There is not an iTunes contact list.
    iTunes does not store contacts.
iTunes serves as the sync conduit for syncing contacts with a supported address book app on your computer only.
This must be manually selected under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes.
This cannot be selected all by itself.
If this was the first time you connected your iPhone to iTunes on your computer, the syncing did not start all by itself.
If you want to transfer music via the iTunes sync process, this is selected under the Music tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes.
Contacts are included with your iPhone's backup which is updated by iTunes as the first step during the iTunes sync process. You can try restoring your iPhone with iTunes from your iPhone's backup. Do not sync your iPhone with iTunes again before doing so and when prompted to update your iPhone's backup as the first step after selecting Restore, decline the prompt or your iPhone's backup will be overwritten and the contacts lost.

  • I purchased songs via my iPhone but lost it when syncing with itunes. How do I get them back?

    Hi everyone,
I'm sure this happened to some of you before but I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.
I purchased music direct via my iPhone but when I synced with iTunes some of my albums were missing. What is also weird is that the digital booklets have synced but I can't find the songs. How do I get them back?
I know that Apple has a policy to not downloading twice but I honestly don't know what I'm doing wrong. I'm not all that confident either so would really appreciate the help.
    Cheers.

  • Lost music when operating system crashed

I recently lost my operating system and had to restore the computer to "New". I was able to transfer my purchases from my IPOD back to my library, however there were some songs that I bought that day that I did not sync to the IPOD, but they show up in my purchase history. How do I transfer these songs in, or how do I contact ITunes to have them help me?
    thanks,
    Erin

If you didn't make a back-up of your purchases to restore from then I'm sorry to say that the policy on lost purchases is that you have to pay to download them again:
"Once a Product is purchased and you receive the Product, it is your responsibility not to lose, destroy, or damage the Product, and Apple shall be without liability to you in the event of any loss, destruction, or damage." iTunes Store: Purchased content can be downloaded only once
You could try contacting the iTunes Music Store Customer Service and you might be able to persuade them to sanction a second free download. There have been occasional reports in the iTunes forum of this happening, however just be aware that they are not under any obligation to do so. If you click on the link at the bottom of this page you'll be able to email your query: iTMS Customer Service

  • Prioritizing Podcasts over Music when Syncing

Hi - I have a 3rd Gen iPod Nano and would like iTunes (for windows) to sync my podcasts before my music. How do I do that?(question 1).
At present, the default seems to allow me to sync my music first and I run out of space when the podcasts are to be synced.
Also, why doesn't it sync the podcasts it has room for, instead of not syncing any podcasts at all? (question 2).
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
    D

Well, you should Delete all music from iPod. Uncheck the "Sync Music" button. Hit Sync, and let the music be deleted, and after that's done, just sync all your Podcasts. After that's done, it will no longer put all your music.
    Hope this helps,
    Darie.

  • Lost Contacts when syncing

When I synced my phone today I lost my contacts, how can I recover them? Where does iTunes store them if I don't have outlook or a similar app?

If you have done a backup of your BB phone through the Desktop Manager software before the sync, you can restore your phone and its original contacts.
Otherwise, I'm afraid that your Mac address book did replace the exisiting ones on your BB ... according to what you describe. Was the sync really tuned to "Bi-directional" when you connected your phone to the Mac?
If positive, then they should be present on both devices.

  • IPod nano 5th gen shows no music when synced with itunes 11

Okay, so ever since i updated to iTunes 11 (windows 7) ive been experiencing this problem, when i sync either one of my ipod nano 5th generation then eject them they show that they have no content on them, no music, photos or anything. the only indication they have data is the little bar that shows how much space is available on the hd.  when reconnected however, everything is still on them and can be accessed and played. ive  updated, restarted and restored the ipod. ive reinstalled itunes. searched the net for similar problems.. nada. then i called apple support, i was very unimpressed... and am now pounding sand per their instruction.
when i connect and restore both ipods on my pc (windows xp) running iTunes 10 and add media, then eject they work just fine. everything shows up and plays proper. but if i sync up on my laptop again i run into the same 'no music' problem. this leads me to think its an issue with software rather than hardware.
Help would be greaaattly appreciated! not having an ipod really drags the day out... thanks!!!

For future reference....There should be a small black triangle next to your iPod's Device Name in the left hand pane of iTunes.  You'll need to click on this one time to open up the submenu to view the content currently stored on the iPod.

  • HT1535 Why can't I use the browser feature to visually organize my iphone or ipad music when syncing?

In the older versions of iTunes, you used to be able to use the column browser when organizing your iPhone or iPad media, in the same way you could when organizing your iTunes songs by viewing the genres, ablums, and artists either on top or on the side. But with the last few iTunes updates, I can no longer use the column broswer when I connect my iPhone or iPad. I find this quite inconvenient because I am constantly updating my music content and I like to see what artists, ablums, and songs I have on my device without scrolling down a long list of 2500+ songs. Any insight?

Really. This is something that shouldn't even be happening.
Apple, please enable iTunes to sort connected iPhone's libraries with the "column browser".
    Please.
    I'm asking nicely
