Lost music when traded in iphone for 3GS

I had bought a brand new iphone 3G a week before the 3GS was released. As a result i traded in the 3G fo[r the 3GS for free but i lost all of my downloaded music. Is there anyway i can get my music back??

Misspelled email address when login to iPhone for the first time

Hello everyone,
I have quite a big issue with my iPhone (I have iPhone 5c).
When I was creating my apple id for iPhone for the first time (after I purchased it) I added an unexisting email address by accident (I never had or used that email as a domain I misspelled does not even exist...).
Now I cannot access my phone at all (I needed to change a SIM card) and when I turned my phone back on, it showed that my phone was assigned for a particular apple id that is impossible to use - as an email (which is also an apple id in that case) and its domain,do not exist ...(it was even impossible to verify password after I accessed iPhone for the first time).
I did not realized I cannot switch it to the other id to unlock my phone...as to change main apple id I would have to do it through the old one and this is - as I stated above - not possible at all ...
using iCloud is also impossible for an above reason (cannot log in as I couldn't verify my password for main apple id).
I have an additional apple id I use for an AppStore (that's how I managed to log in here)
Does anyone have any idea/advise what are my options now?
I am unable to use my phone at all because of that

If you turned on Find My iPhone turn it off, then Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Contents & Settings.

I purchased and installed iTunes Match, on the link it says downloads and songs from CDs will be available in the cloud, I purchased I tunes match and lost music from both. Please help.

My parents ended up with my contacts on their Iphone when updating their Iphone for the first time, help?!

Ok, my family uses one Apple Account and we share music and stuff but when me and my sibling got Iphones like my parents, it got confusing. I was the first to sync my Iphone 4s into the computer and the Apple ID is put under my name. All of my Apps, contacts etc are on the account. But my parents decided to update their phone. Theirs is an Iphone 4s, like mine but they haven't updated it to IOS 7 since they got it so they plugged their phone into the computer syncing my information while deleting THEIR information. I think the computer thought it was MY phone and kicked out my parents information in the process. I don't know what to do, they have my contacts, pictures, apps, games, email accounts and TEXT MESSAGES. We have different phone numbers but how is that possible? I don't get it. Anyway, it would be nice to solve this problem because my sibling wants to update his own phone. If you guys have the answer, just post it up on here That would help alot!! Thank you!

Go to Settings>General>Passcode Lock>tap Turn Passcode Lock Off, enter your "pin".
Edit: Are you saying you are getting a prompt for your email pin, or are you talking about the passcode lock that appears when you turn the phone on?

Error -43 when backing up iPhone for update 5.0

I'm trying to update 5.0 on my iPhone 3gs and am getting error -43 when the phone is being backed up. Help! I waited a half a week hoping that the problem would go away, but it hasn't.
I've read that some other users have erased everything on their iPhone so that they could update, and then manually installed everything after, but I don't have half a day to spend on this.
Any ideas?

Well, I've since taken the plunge and tried to update anyway, by restoring the iPhone, thinking I could restore from my backups. Now turns out that I can't restore because "the backup session failed". Goddammit.
This is the biggest problem I have with my iPhone, that iTunes is such an abominable piece of software. I just want to get iOS 5 on this phone so I can leave iTunes behind.

OK, updated a friends iPhone, it appeared to backup and all but when it it was done the music purchased from the phone was missing?? Is it hidden somewhere I can get it back onto her phone? I figured it was like apps that have been bought, once you buy them you can download them again..Guess that's not the case!! also some apps where missing. but that was easy enough to put back on, just a pain!

Everyone should always keep a back up copy of their important info on an external source - external drive, flash drive, dvd, cd, etc.
If you do not back up, you will likely lose it at some point.
Itunes prompts you to back up on occasion. You can click "Support" at the top of this page and type back up. You can use the help feature in itunes.
You can copy the entire itunes folder.
Please back up. I am amazed that some do not back up their info.
It will save a lot of frustration in the future.

Lost music when operating system crashed

I recently lost my operating system and had to restore the computer to "New". I was able to transfer my purchases from my IPOD back to my library, however there were some songs that I bought that day that I did not sync to the IPOD, but they show up in my purchase history. How do I transfer these songs in, or how do I contact ITunes to have them help me?

If you didn't make a back-up of your purchases to restore from then I'm sorry to say that the policy on lost purchases is that you have to pay to download them again:
"Once a Product is purchased and you receive the Product, it is your responsibility not to lose, destroy, or damage the Product, and Apple shall be without liability to you in the event of any loss, destruction, or damage." iTunes Store: Purchased content can be downloaded only once
You could try contacting the iTunes Music Store Customer Service and you might be able to persuade them to sanction a second free download. There have been occasional reports in the iTunes forum of this happening, however just be aware that they are not under any obligation to do so. Lost music when syncing

Can anyone tell me what happened when i synced my phone to my boyfriends computer to download a movie on Itunes and all my music in my IPOD app disappeared and got replaced by his music? Now I can't get my music back. Does anyone know how to get my music back?

Iphone will sync itunes content to one computer. If you sync to another, ti will erase the current content from iphone and replace with content from the new computer.
Your music should be on the computer with which you normally sync. Just sync it back to the iphone.

Lost music when I syncing

I synced my phone and must have done something wrong, my purchased music is gone. It is not on the itunes in the computer either. Can I restore music purchased from the itunes store? Could it be hidden on my computer? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

If you downloaded it via iTunes, it should still be in your music folder on your computer. If you downloaded it via the iPhone then its gone.
However, if you go to your email receipt and click the "report a problem" link you will be able to explain the situation to the iTunes store personnel and they might be able to help you. I had this happen to me once and they re-enabled the song for download on my account.

Lost music when iTunes froze whilst downloading

While downloading an album from the online store,iTunes stopped responding. I used force quit to get out of it. On returning to the store, the music continued to download. However a file that had been processing was missing and is still missing. I have searched the library and it´s not there. Have used the "check for available purchases" option and am told all music has been downloaded. I am missing a major piece of the download as this was a compilation album with a"mix" track at the end(the one missing). Any ideas of who to contact as i have searched this site and it seems the Itunes store are happy to take your money, but do not seem to offer any support when things go wrong!!

Error Message When Downloading 4.2 for 3GS

When I try download 4.2 from my iTunes it will proceed to near completion and then an error message which says "There was a problem downloading the software...The Network Connection timed out." I know it says on there what the problem is but its not the correct reason because I've tried to download it many times using different WiFi connections after my internet at home (which has never failed me before) brought up that error. I tried it again at home and it is clear that it is not a connection at home that is the problem. Does anyone know how to fix this so I can download the new 4.2. I have iTunes 10.1 already downloaded ( Which I downloaded using my home internet without any problems)

The biggest single cause of this are firewalls & anti-virus software on your computer. So, disable or uninstall all firewalls, anti-virus software, anti-malware, anti-anything and try again. But first, delete the existing .ipsw file on your computer in case it may be corrupted. You will have to turn on show all hidden files & folders to see it. It is located here:
C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software Updates

Lost contaacts when getting new iphone

I have just got a new Iphone 4s and I synced my old 3g iphone before I got my new phone but when syncing now it has got my photos (not all of them) and doesnt have any of my contacts any ideas how i can get all my contacts back?

I do not use a iPhone 3G but if you plug your old iPhone to iTunes, right click on the phone icon and make a Backup of this phone, I think you will save your contacts that were on the phone in that backup.
Plug your new iPhone to iTunes, restore from backup and I think your contacts will appear in your new iPhone 4.
I did this with my iPod touch and it worked fine but not sure if it's the same with iPhone.

Lost music when upgrading

i just upgraded to 7.0.2.16. when i opened up itunes all of my music was gone. i managed to get it back by going to "add folder", but i still don't have any of my playlists or rating information. how can i get that info back?

I had the same trouble upgrading from 7.01 to 7.02. I have tried copying files back from the previous itunes directory and deleting the new one, but it does not work. This does not suprise me completely, because if itunes was able to import the files, surely it would have done it in the first place.
The only think I can think is that I selected 'let itunes organise your music' option. perhaps I should have taken the manual approach like I normally do.
I have found my music and can play it. At least I didn't have too many playlists, but it does not encourage me to ues itunes as my default music player - which is what I was previously considering.

Yesterday i traded my iPhone for a galaxy. All of my contacts who have iPhones can no linger text me because my phone number when chosen comes up with imessage option only. The only way they can txt me is to shut off their imessage when texting to me then have to out it back on for others - this is not the correct solution. So i then called verizon tech and also went in person to make sure my iPhone imessage was off before they wiped it clean. It still didn't work. I then went online and to the apple store and edited all my devices and removed them from the apple store and still not working. He last thing I did was went into my only other device, the ipad and went into imessage and took my phone number out of the screen and then shut off imessage there too. Somehow my phone number is still associated with iPhone. The iPhone is wiped clean. Hopefully you can help

Call AppleCare, because, according to Apple, removing the devices from your support profile should have fixed this issue. You can also try changing your Apple ID password, but given what you've done, I doubt this will help.
