Hi.
I have recenlty installed a sofware update now on 10.6.8 - and my microsoft word or outlook are not working! - I can't out my hands on the rosetta back up disc that the machine is asking for- can anyone help?

I have lost my back/forward option along with my bookmarking and have lost my complete list of bookmarks. I am unable to import them back. How can I correct this?

I erased some games and lost the back/forward option. I then upgrades firefox and lost all of my bookmarks and the bookmark option won't let me add on new bookmarks. I have gone to several troubleshooting pgs and still unable to resolve the problem. When I start firefox, it tells me I can't bookmark because of security blocking it.

This can be a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

Open Safari, in the header, right click in a grey area - NOT in the address bar or on an icon.
"Customize Toolbar" appears, left click on this and a window opens showing all the options available.
Just drag and drop the icons you are missing into the previous and next position under Close, Minimise etc.

Lost old backed-up files while moving music from an old computer to new Mac

I was following the support topic, "How to use your iPod to move your music to a new computer" on the support tab for iTunes. I followed all of the instructions and in one of the final steps, I was gping to put the estimated 1000 songs I already had on my Mac back into itunes. BUT, the folder on the desktop that SHOULD have had the files in it is completely empty. I need help locating those files. iTunes now only show the roughly 700 songs that I transferred in from my old computer. My boyfriend is going to be so angry if I lost 1000 of his songs...I followed the instructions on backing up those songs...how can I fix this??? How to I get lost memory back?

I was following a step-by-step video on Youtube on how to get Arma 2 and DayZ for Mac. And I had to get VMware Fusion. After many hours, I figured it out. I got a virtual machine, Windows 7, on my Macbook Air. I had to do all this configuring and downloading, and when I created a hard disk, I added 60 gigabytes. 29 of them were for the virtual machine, the other 31 were for the Arma 2 and DayZ mod installation. Log story short, my Wondows 7 crashed. So I decided to delete the hard disk attatcged to it so I could get the mmory back. It wouldn't let me delete it. So I closed out of VMwar Fusion nd tried again. Stll wouldn't work. So I used an app called Disk Diagnosis. It's common on the app store, and I deleted my trash. BUT, I can NOT find it anywhere and I did not get my 60 gigabytes back. This is my brand new Macboo Air from Christmas, and I'm really sad that I lost this much memory when I was just trying to play a game. Also, if anyone knows about RAM, it is continuously dropping relly fast. And my app, Memory Clean, is cleaning it when it gets too low. Thank you.

I am writing a simple web application with a controoler.
Each request is sent to controller and it redirects to the JSP page.
To redirect to a page the code is response.sendRedirect(frwdPage).
Now when a user fills a form and clicks the next btn the request
is sent to controller and all the form information is put in session
object and next page is opened.If the user clciks back button all the
form information is lost and it is blank.
Why is it so?How cal I prevent it from getting lost.please suggest

This is up to the browser. If the browser forgets forms there is little you can do - except get a better browser. I use Firefox (recommended!) and it sure remembers form data.

Lost some apps after syncing/restoring, how to get lost data back?

I updated the firmware of my iPhone 3GS to iOS 5.1 yesterday. After the update, I noticed that I have lost all of my contacts on the phone, so I plugged it back in to the computer and went with "Restore from backup", which was dated just a few hours prior to updating the firmware.
After it finished restoring, my contacts were all back but half of my apps are missing. I tried redownloading from the App Store as well as syncing from the computer, but the data (game saves, etc) are still missing. How do I get them back?

It's still listed there, dated around 5 hours before I updated. I right-clicked on my iPhone and chose "Restore from backup" and they still weren't there.
Most of the apps that I lost were downloaded within the last 6 months, but the apps that remained contained data that are up to date (to just before the update).
In other words, half of my apps are up to date while the rest are completely missing their data.

I plugged my new iPhone 5 into my computer and was in iTunes. It prompted me to either use the phone as a new one or use a backup. I wanted my apps back so I used the back up, but then without warning or even letting me select what it would sync, it erased everything on my phone within 30 seconds. Can I get at least the photos back that I took of family over the holidays, or are they gone forever? Does Apple have a server where they store everything we all do on our phones, and could I maybe pay them to search and get those back for me?
I'm afraid it's all a lost cause...

Well it's a newer iMac, but it's one I've been using for about a year. I had backed up my old 3G on it, but right before I plugged my new phone in to get me apps, I had downloaded the newest version of iTunes.
It was just a white screen and had that question on it. With two selection options, and then under the back up option was a drop down to choose which back up to use. No warning and no other dialog box opened after I clicked it either... reference the image in the link below.
