Lost my Calendar after crash iPhoto 6.0.1

I spent a few hours making a two year calendar, but when it was almost finished iPhoto got stuck when I tried to add another photo to the calendar list. After watching the beachball for several minutes I force quit iPhoto.
When I relaunched it, I was asked to rebuild the thumbnails, which I did and now my calendar has gone from the list.
Any suggestions if I could still retrieve this back somehow would be very helpful given the time it took. Also any suggestion how I could save this somehow to avoid repetition?
Thanks very much

Closing my own thread as there are several ones describing the same issue:
In the end I was succesful with the following workflow:
1) Make sure you have all the pictures needed in an album. Adding pictures later to a calendar, or even improting just in iPhoto can be a cause for a crash, loosing the calendar.
2) After creating the calendar, that is finishing putting the pictures and text in place, <ctrl> click on the calendar entry in the source window (with all the albums listed) and create a duplicate.
3) At this moment you have two calendars, but iPhoto is now likely to crash any moment.
4) Reopen iPhoto and in my case I still have one calendar, the other one is gone.
5) You better create another duplicate immediately, but in my experience this time iPhoto does not crash and without further editing you can now submit this calendar for printing.
It is also possible to save the calendar as a printable pdf via the print option, but I do not know of a way to submit this pdf for printing.
It is not really fun to have to do it this way, hopefully there will soon be another fix, but for those like me wanting to finish one, I hope it works for you as well.

How do I get my calendar, which is on my ipad, onto my iphone?  I lost my iphone calendar after the upgrade this morning.

I have iCloud set on my iphone, ipad and mac. But, for some reason, my mac has no calendar and now neither does my iphone.  Fortunately my ipad has my calendar - but I must get that back on my iphone.  I haven't synced by ipad to anything manually - but I assume icloud should have everything.  When I added an appt on my iphone calendar - it immediately duplicated on my ipad.

  • Lost All Calendars after new Upgrade

Being forced to upgrade I tried several times and never had luck. Finally this week I tried and was successful. Everything seemed fine. Today I opened iCal to add and entry. Suddenly all calendars were gone. They appear to be gone on mobile me. (Me.com) as well. I do have time machine back up if need be. I have tried deleting my account in iCal. I tried restarting, I tried typing in commands in the Terminal. I just get two calendars Home & Work with nothing in them.
I am using a Macbook Pro 17 and the latest OS. Everything is up to date.
    Any ideas?
    M

My experience was similar though not an exact match as I don't believe I lost the calendars on MM. But my recollection could be wrong. I did work through the problem though and was able restore my calendars and haven't had a bit of trouble since at either desktop or MM end.
So here is link to my discussion. Perhaps there is some help here.
    Cheers!

  • Lost Wiki calendars after upgrade to 10.6.4

    Hi,
After upgrade my clients to 10.6.4 we are not be able to connect to our Wiki calendars using iCal client.
    The original path was:
    /principals/wikis/WIKI-NAME/
But now it says the client is not able to connect to:
    /principals/_uids_/8a8be0fd-f969-5760-bef6-a73ad4ae3aa1/
If we recreate the subscription, the first time iCal is able to access to the calendar data, using the original path, but after close and restart the client, it modifies the path and uses the new path value (/principals/_uids_/8a8be0fd-f969-5760-bef6-a73ad4ae3aa1/)
In the caldavd error log says:
[AMP,client] [twistedcaldav.directory.principal#error] No principal found for UID: 8a8be0fd-f969-5760-bef6-a73ad4ae3aa1
We do not have this kind of problems with our Leopard (10.5.8) iCal clients or using the web page.
Thanks in advance for any help.

A followup from my post here: http://discussions.apple.com/messageview.jspa?messageID=11686666&stqc=true
Looking at server debug error logs in Info mode, it appears that when querying for the group's HEX UID, the server does the following process:
    - Creates a wiki record for the GUID in Memcache; the correct data appears to be passed from the wiki entry
    - Checks state of GUID, fails to find it
    - Removes memcache data
    - Returns "Not Found" to the client
Anyone know why the Twisted is failing to successfully create the Memcache entry?
This is the log of the events dealing with the targetted UID:

  • Lost my calendars after upgrading to mountain lion

Please help! I just upgraded to Mountain Lion, clicked into my calendar and there is nothing. It's like a blank slate, except for what it comes with; 'work' 'home' US Holidays'. I had really important birthdays, meetings, work things, bills, etc. scheduled and they are nowhere to be found now. I also, as of today, switched over to iCloud. Nothing there either. Is there some way I can retreive that priceless information?!

Ya this kept/keeps happening to me.  I connected my phone with the USB, went into itunes, click on the phone in left there, go to the info tab, scroll down to Advanced settings at the bottom  and selected Calander it says "During next sync only.  Itunes will replace the selcted info on your iphone with info from this computer" then sync and its all back.
    Hope this helps

  • Lost Photoshop CS6 after crash

The other day I had a computer crash now I can't see Photoshop CS6 application icon or upgrade it on my Creative Cloude.  It looks like it does uphrade only to at the end come up with an error U44M2P7.

Sounds like your computer crash has damaged Photoshop. Try running the uninstaller to remove the application. Then use the Clean script (http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.htm)l to remove anything that might be left over. Then reinstall and apply the updates.

  • Compaq Laptop CQ61 lost bios values after crashing

I had a crash where the system shut down and I could not restart it for several tries. When it tried to boot up it stopped at the bios screen indicating that the bios values did not match. Now I have this extra step to override(not a big deal) but I wonder what's next? My search says don't mess with the bios "i.e. flashing" unless you've exhausted everything else.
Any feedback? I'm wondering if it overheated?
    TIA

Flashing will not restore these values unfortunately.
Try a hard reset, power down the notebook and unplug the power cord, remove the battery, hold the power button down for a full 30 seconds, connect power cord only and see if they are repaired.
If this does not work try a bios reset
Follow the steps above, except also remove the CMOS (RTC) battery from the motherboard for a few hours, connect it back along with the power cord and power up, immediately enter the bios to set date and time before Windows loads.
If none of these fail to help, then the only people that can correct it is HP, another side effect of this problem is your recovery partition or recovery discs will no longer reinstall the OS on that notebook.

  • Import from Sony NEX-6 crashes iPhoto?

My wife got a new Sony NEX-6. We're back from a vacation and I'm trying to import her photos into iPhoto.  After crashing iPhoto about 20 times, I still haven't imported half of her photos.  I have copied all her photos to my Mac, and I just drag a folder of them to iPhoto.  If it's not the first time I've tried to import that forlder, I tell iPhoto not to import photos already imported.  iPhoto works a while and then crashes. When I restart it, it says it found photos that weren't imported and would I like to import them. I say yes, and some of the photos it had been working on when it crashed end up getting imported.  Repeat until you pull your hair out.  This problem is not just with one memory card, but occurs with all eight memory cards she used in her NEX-6 on our trip.  I imported all my photos from my Canon S95 without a hitch, as normal.  But there's something about importing photos that were taken on a Sony NEX camera that causes iPhoto to crash quite often.
My wife uses Aperture and didn't have a problem importing her photos into Aperture.
I've seen discussions on other fora about others seeing the same problem with other Sony NEX cameras, so I know this isn't just me.
    Any thoughts?

My wife took several thousand photos on our trip.  iPhoto will import anywhere between 5 and 123 photos before it crashes, so it's not every photo that crashes iPhoto, but just some of them.  (I don't remember the exact numbers of photos that iPhoto has been able to import before crashing, but sometimes it's just a few, and sometimes it can import more than a hundred before it crashes.  So, to do an exhasutive test of what you're describing, I'd have to manually open and save a lot of photos to prove anything.  Are you thinking of this as a fix, or just a way to gather more information about the problem?

  • Lost all photos after iphoto latest iphoto update

I have just lost all my photos in iphoto after latest update. Anyone knows whats going on?
Over 3,000 photos for last 15 years and I am devastated not forgetting I relly on apple as I own most of their products.
I see a trend in apple updates, deleting of user data as similar thing happened with email when I updated to OSX Mountain Lion way back.
Apple should know not forget user data is more importnat than updates as there is no point owning a device that will not give me confort that my data is safe.

    Hi Terence,
I installed iPhoto Library Manager, and it's a great program, however I am still having issues.
I discovered today in the Day One App, as well as Mail that the Photo Browser contains the missing photos, projects etc. See image below. I have no idea where these photos are kept and when I search for the name of a photo, the photo does not appear.
I clicked on Aperture and it would like me to Upgrade, and I'm not sure if I should, please advise.
Lastly in the iPhoto Library Manager, when I select add library and click on Aperture I get the messsage attached.
Do you have any insight on this.  It looks like the photos are there, I just don't know where to look.
    Thanks for your help!

    Good evening,
after upgrading Iphoto 9.5 a page opened requiring to upgrade my library. As it did not work out,for fear of losing all my pictures I  loaded Iphoto 9.4.3  with Time machine but I had lost quite a few photos. As a matter of fact, after searching , I found them In Photo library in 'images' on my hard drive. When I double click, 9.5 appears with all my pictures. Therefore, I would like to use 9.5 just by by clicking on the icon down my finder and  not by being obliged to open my hard drive.
Would you please tell me what I should do. Thank you.
    Best regards,
    Robert

    Huh?
As it did not work out,for fear of losing all my pictures I  loaded Iphoto 9.4.3  with Time machine but I had lost quite a few photos. As a matter of fact, after searching , I found them In Photo library in 'images' on my hard drive. When I double click, 9.5 appears with all my pictures.
So, you have restored 9.4.3 from Time Machine but can see all your pictures in 9.5?
Do you have two version of iPhoto on your Machine?
And if you didn't update the Library, ("as it did not work out,") how can you see things in 9.5?
So, whatever set up you have is confusing.

  • Lightroom 5: Lost photo Book after Lightroom crash

LIghtroom shot down after crash and now only shows empty foto book. Pictures included in the book however are still shown as used in the picture bar. Is there a way to restore the original book without backup?
I'm working on a PC and restarting Lighroom and PC both failed.
    thanks!

    Without Backup- No.!
If you do have a Catalog Backup, it may be there.
Good advice is- always "Create a Saved Book" (that will be in the Collections Panel) when you have a basic design started. A "Saved Book" always updates as you alter pages and images in the Book module.
    And always backup the catalog!
