Lost my email on my iPad after iPad was restored???

Yesterday, an Apple tech. helped me restore my Apple iPad. It had stopped working. We went through iTunes and restored it. It seems fine other than I do not have Email any longer. I don't know what to do to get it back. The settings look ok but I don't really know the difference. Can anyone help me figure out how I can get my email to work again on my iPad?????? Thank you.

If your information is in settings, but emailis not syncing, try this.
in iPad settings:
General
Reset
Reset all settings (careful to select only this!)
(data is not effected)

Spent hours trying everything suggested and finally this morning hit on a solution. iTunes must be run as an administrator. Even though you are logged into your PC as an administrator, using the iTunes shortcut does not make you an administrator in iTunes. I found this out by using the diagnostics in iTunes and reading through the results report.
I am using Windows 7, so I clicked the start button and right clicked on iTunes and selected "Run as an adimistrator". The first restore attempt got the 4013 error. I then did the DFU thing, hold power and home buttons for 10 seconds, release power and continue holding home for 10 more seconds.
iTunes gave me the restore message and I clicked it. I clicked the restore iPhone button and it started. The drivers loaded a couple of times. I got the apple logo with the progress bar and this time instead of disappearing, it started to fill in.
End result, a successful restore to factory settings and a happy 14 year old.

Can you expand on "nothing works" just a bit?
Do you mean sending or receiving mail or both?
Do you get any error messages? If so, what do they say?
Have you tried deleting the accounts and re-adding them?
Other than the email, is the internet working fine on your iPad?

How is it that I now have someone elses photos on my ipad after a full restore?

I had to restore my iPad 2 on Friday due to a problem booting. When I finally restored it back to factory settings I started to noticed elements of someone elses account on it. There are photos in my Camera Roll that are not mine. When I first logged into Facebook it suggested a username (email address) that was not mine. The email accounts of someone else are also partially set up. I have had this iPad from new out of the box so how can this have happened? I am now worried that my photos and other accounts are mixed up with someone else!!!

The only way that I can see this happening is if you restored somebody else's backup to your iPad. If you completely erased the iPad and restored as new there is no way somebody else's information or photos could possibly be on the iPad.

I took my 1st gen iPad to an Apple store because of some glitches in the operating system, and I had forgotten my restrictions pass code. They backed up my data on the cloud, then took everything off of my iPad to basically "start over" with a new iPad. Now I don't know how to retrieve my calendar, notes, reminders. Somehow my contacts are there. I went to general settings and made sure the cloud was turned on, but I don't know how to pull from the cloud what we had previously backed up. When you have forgotten a restrictions password, you can no long restore from a backup that had the restrictions turned on. You can only start over with a full reset.
But you can sign back into icloud (Setting>icloud) and turn on the services you have used before (calendars, reminders, etc...). That will sync down the data to your ipad.

I am not able to download the iTunes software uprade for my original iPad since it was restored to original settings at Apple store. Can someone help please?

The latest version iOS 6 does not run on the original iPad. That's why you cannot download it.

Windows 2012 Master FSMO DC lost connection to other DC's after DNS was lost

Hi. I'm hoping someone has a resolution to my issue. I've recently added a new VMware Windows 2012 DC server to replace an existing DC1 Server with a memory leak. I also successfully added the Master FSMO roles to this new server and renamed
the server to DC1. I did at least 6 checks that the replication was successful with DC2 before rebooting. However, upon rebooting I discovered that the DNS tables in DC2 were incomplete. Once the DNS was restored the VM's were working fine
however, now it appears that DNS and DHCP are fine but the FSMO roles on DC1 and connection to DC2 are no longer working. I've tried running ntulis, and netdom with no success. I'm afraid until I get the connection back to the network and the FSMO
roles re-established finishing the renaming of this domain controller may be premature. Any advise at this point would be great as I'm unsure whether or not to abandon this server and start from scratch or try to salvage the work I've already put in.

I'm not sure I follow your renaming steps. But, I think the issue might be that your clients are still pointing to the IP address of the original DC1. Therefore, any DNS record updating would not be directed to the IP address of your
new DC1. Clients tend to rely on fixed IP addresses to find the DNS server, not a DNS name, which would be a bit of a catch-22.

I can clarify your error message for you. The Classic environment was essentially an OS9 emulator, in case you had to use an application that hadn't been upgraded for OSX. But the Apple OS no longer provides that support for OS9, so an OS9 app such as this Setup Assistant can't run at all under Leopard. But the Assistant isn't necessary-- it just saves you the trouble of going thru each Office app's Preferences and customizing your settings.
As for your CD problems, it sounds like Microsoft laid some crappy discs on you. Maybe you could exchange them?

Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPad?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after It shuts down, press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds).

Retina iPad or iPad mini ? A tough decision...

Well, I guess a lot of people might have asked this question before, though I did not take the trouble to check.
I have a 11" MacBook Air and an iPhone 4, and an iPad is obviously what is missing in-between. I need an iPad to read newpapers and magazines while commuting or on the move, and I also need the big display to use iPad as a map to guide me through unfamiliar neighbourhoods. So I would go for cellular. Ideally, I would love to have a Retina iPad mini. But God knows when a Retina iPad mini will be launched? And one more word someone will pop up and remind me that we are not permitted to speculate on Apple's future products here. So I will shut up.
I've seen some people with the big iPad after iPad mini has been launched. Well, suddenly iPad looks horribly gigantic and oversized. But I wonder if I would accept an iPad mini without Retins when trying to read fine text...

If the missing email is no longer on your email provider's server, there is no way to recover them. If this is an iCloud email address, you can check your mail on icloud.com from your computer to confirm whether the lost email is there or not.

Deleted the SMTP setting
Recreated the SMTP using the same settings
Able to send emails now
No logic - as usual - just a bug!

Email no longer works after an iPad restore

I've tried reinstalling my two email accounts through Settings since doing a restore of my iPad 2, under iOS 7.1.2. I can no longer get either account to send or receive, despite many efforts. Internet works fine.
In both cases I have POP accounts (and please don't sidetrack this with remonstrations that I should use IMAP). One is Gmail and the other is a local provider. They used to work, they don't now.
One thing that has changed is that, as I understand it, Gmail POP accounts can no longer be set up through the "Exchange" option, as I was able to do three or so years ago. Instead I've seen it suggested that I set up the account through "Other". The "Google" setting appears to be for IMAP accounts only.
I've been unable to find clear instructions through Google's help. So far the Google Accounts Team has offered me only generic config settings — not specific to Mail — that don't solve the problem. Ideally there would be definitive screen-by-screen instructions somewhere but I haven't any that work for me.
Please help!

App opens to blank screen, the borders of the different sections are there. stays for 10 seconds or do then crashes to the home screen.
interesting note I was trying to send an email with 22 photos before this started happennig(app crashed then as well)

home/lock reset
tried all of the above multiple times
i was able to send an email from pdf expert no problem just now, just for kicks and it was recieved and I got a notification that it was recieved.
ipad 2 ios 8.1.2 just updated today after the issue started (from 8.1.1)
