Lost my histogram edit screen in Aperture

For some strange reason I no longer have the ability to edit the historgram in any of my photos in aperture and I have no idea why. I can't seem to find any command on the menu that I may have inadvertently turned off. Can anyone help getting back the histogram edit area. Thanks.

Just a thought:
If you want to be able to find the "Levels" adjustment by looking for "Histogram" and thinking like a photographer, save your "Levels" adjustment as an "Effect" and call this effect "Histogram" (Effects > Save as effect). Then you can add it by selecting "Histogram" in the "Effects" drop down menu: In the "Effects" menu you can build your own toolbox of frequently used effects and give them descriptive names.

I have lost my 'file,edit, ...' task bar from the upper left side of my LR screen. My upper left corner now reads something about welcome to Lightroom mobile. ( I have never had or used the mobile version and I can't use it anyway. ) When I push my mouse pointer up again the top of the screen the 'file, edit,...' does not reappear and stay as it has been doing for the last 3 years. How can I get it back? And, maybe what did I do so I can avoid this from happening again? Thank you. (I am not PC knowledgeable, please bear with me.)

Does the menu bar appear when you move your mouse pointer to the top of your display. If so then you could change the behavior of Lightroom via the menu Window->Screen Mode

Help, lost photos while transferring, can only see in edit screen

while transferring photos from my camera to iphoto some pictures did not fully transfer. I can see them as small icons on the edit screen but the picture is blank in the event, how can i recover? What part of "full" is not clear?
OS X needs about 10 gigs of hard drive space for normal OS operations - things like virtual memory, temporary files and so on. Without this space your Mac will slow down as the OS hunts for space on the disk, files will be fragmented, also slowing things down, apps will crash and the risk of data corruption - that is damage to your files, photos, music - increases exponentially.
Your first priority is to make more space on that HD. Nothing else can be done until you do.
Purchase an external HD and move your Photos and Music to it. Both iPhoto and iTunes can run perfectly well with the Library on an external disk.

"Full Screen" in Aperture 3.2.1 is on wrong screen.

"Full Screen" in Aperture 3.2.1 - I finally bought Aperture and tried editing using my macbook pro and cinema display. I am working with Aperture on the cinema display and selected "Full Screen," however, the "Full Screen" shows up on the laptop, not the cinema display. The usual Aperture window stays on the cinema display. Of course why bother editing if the full screen image is not on the larger display? I tried dragging the "full screen" image from the laptop to the cinema display, but that wouldn't work. I searched as best I could for any help on this matter to no avail. Has any one else had this problem? Thanks for any help with this. (I usually work with PS CS5, other editing plug-in's with that, and iphoto for managing libraries.)

The most trouble-free (from the computer's perspective) is to put the OS Menu Bar on the big screen (this makes it the Primary Display), go Full Screen and set the secondary monitor to none.
All other variations of Full Screen + Dual Monitors are prone to the kinds of behavior you have experienced (IME). I gave up using Full Screen Mode with dual monitors many months ago. I hide the Toolbar, and regularly hide/show the Inspector. I keep my browser to the side in Split View.
I had expected Apple to fix these problems with the release of Lion (guessing that Aperture's Full Screen Mode was actually a bit of a preview of what Lion would deliver). Early reports were that this is not the case.
If you have a moment, you might send a report to Apple via "Aperture→Send Aperture Feedback". The performance of Full Screen Mode on a dual monitor set-up is more lemon than Apple.

UDPATE:
Spoke with Express lane, and issue was escalated. Kudos to the support guys that handled this one (Brian and Yi). Went through everything in detail and took all the crash dumps off the iphones and ipads to send to engineering.
After backing up the contacts, the recommendation was to delete all contacts in iCloud. Doing that caused my iCloud to crash (in the browser), so more crash dumps were sent to apple.
Eventually got all contacts deleted, then did a resync. Looks like IOS devices are coming back to life and syncing again.
Also, Outlook iCloud connector has just been updated to ver 1.0.1 so i installed that on their recommendation.
BOTTOM LINE workaround:
1. Backup contacts
2. Delete contacts in iCloud
3. Delete accounts on IOS devices
4. Recreate accounts on IOS devices.
Hoping a real root cause can be found and real fix implemented. This has caused me to doubt the stability of iCloud, so i will procees with caution.

I'm using two MacPros simultaniously, the old one for iTunes, and the new one for the other things. My new one has no problems, so am wondering if there is an easy way to correct the older MacPro's contrast problems. The computer is over three years old, and I'm wondering also if this failure is an aging sign. (I also have other problems, such as a noisy DVD drive, which is part of the reason I bought a new MacBook Pro.)

Is the older MBP a pre-Unibody model from early 2008? If so, it could be having this problem:

If so, you would be entitled to a free repair.
The lost contrast could be considered distorted video.
Do you have an external monitor? If the external shows the same lost contrast, the graphics chip is likely the culprit. If the external is OK, then you probably have an issue with the built in display or possibly with its connections.
You may also want to check in Universal Access to see if the contrast bar is set in its normal position (all the way to the left).
Apple has a special test they can run to diagnose the NVIDIA issue, so if you have access to an Apple Store, make an appointment at the genius bar to have it run.

I am unable to change location for editing photos. I tried the advanced drop down menu in iPhoto and have 2 locations for editing-iphoto and aperture. I want to add photoshop. Can anyone help? Thanks.

Not sure why you would have Aperture there as it's not an editor.
To change, just select Aperture again, and this will give you the dialogue to change the choice.

Have a look at your import setting specifically Store Files:
Make sure it is set to where you want the originals to go.
Message was edited by: Frank Caggiano - Don;t empty the system trash. The originals that you deleted from the Desktop are in there and are the only copies you have unless they are still in the camera.

Now when i go for defining Project Coding Mask by making following new entry in the spro

after entering above details system gives following error

How i can resolve this issue.

Your coding mask is exceeding the limit of 24 characters(including special characters). Reduce some characters to make it 24 or less then 24.

I have a mac Book Pro and and iMac, both with Thunderbolt. I connect my thunderbolt cable to each and each tells me that it is connected to the other, but when I try secondary screen in Aperture it is still grey and not available, what do I have to do to?

When I connect the two together with a thunderbolt cable each recognises the other as shown in the system report, but when I try to use second screen in Aperture, the option is still grey and unavailable. In actual fact this seems a bigger problem than I thought. Linking the two computers via the Thundernolt cable and selecting cmd F2 no longer shares the screen at all and Apple say it may not be able too in Mointain Lion - What are they playing at, hundreds of customers link computers together and share the screens - Lets hope they are wrong and tell us what we need to do other than move back to Windows.

In general theory, one now has the Edit button for their posts, until someone/anyone Replies to it. I've had Edit available for weeks, as opposed to the old forum's ~ 30 mins.
That, however, is in theory. I've posted, and immediately seen something that needed editing, only to find NO Replies, yet the Edit button is no longer available, only seconds later. Still, in that same thread, I'd have the Edit button from older posts, to which there had also been no Replies even after several days/weeks. Found one that had to be over a month old, and Edit was still there.
Do not know the why/how of this behavior. At first, I thought that maybe there WAS a Reply, that "ate" my Edit button, but had not Refreshed on my screen. Refresh still showed no Replies, just no Edit either. In those cases, I just Reply and mention the [Edit].
Also, it seems that the buttons get very scrambled at times, and Refresh does not always clear that up. I end up clicking where I "think" the right button should be and hope for the best. Seems that when the buttons do bunch up they can appear at random around the page, often three atop one another, and maybe one way the heck out in left-field.
While I'm on a role, it would be nice to be able to switch between Flattened and Threaded Views on the fly. Each has a use, and having to go to Options and then come back down to the thread is a very slow process. Jive is probably incapable of this, but I can dream.

Missing RAW editing screen in PSE8 Trial version

Can anyone help me with this one?
I have previously used PSE6. When opening a RAW image I have first gone through a RAW Editor screen before editting in PSE6. When
I open a RAW image in the TRIAL version of PSE8 it takes me straight to the PSE Editor, missing out the RAW editing stage. My camera is an Olympus E510, about 2 years old.
The HELP files clearly show the RAW editing operation so I know the functionality is in PSE8. It seems to assume that the RAW editing screen opens automatically and I can't see what else to do. In desperation I turned on the FILE FORMATS Plug In to see if that would help - it didn't. I need to know there is a RAW Editor that I can use before purchasing the software.
Adobe have told me that they don't support the Trail version and so won't answer my question... Not exactly a recommendation of good customer service if their pre sale support is zero! Their official answer to the above question was that they did not support PSE6 anymore and that I should upgrade to PSE8 Their last suggestion was to ask this group.
If anyone has PSE8 and is prepared to try a .ORF file for me I'd be very grateful. Thanks, Keith

Issue with Add/Edit screen list values

Hi,
I have a requirement in ADF application to list down one table as initial screen. From that screen I can go to add screen or edit screen.
Currently in adding screen, I am collecting all the data to a backing bean and finally when save is clicked i am transferring value to View programmatically.
In my add screen i have some fields in list. Some of them are master details list also. They are independent LOV bindings.
Currently while saving I can access all the values from backing bean, But for list fields I am getting index values only. Due to that I have mapped corresponding attributeValues to get its primary key to save.
But when i go to edit screen, how to i get and map this index value back to list so that it will show proper value selected, exactly like how it was showing on add screen?

You may consider the below suggestion which needs no manual coding for creating new record as opposed to your current way of collecting data into bean and transferring value to view and then saving it.
a. In add screen page, drop the view object from the data control as ADF Form without navigation buttons
b. As you want the creation form when the page is loaded, add createInsert method binding to the pagedef and then add invokeAction executable binding to createInsert with refresh mode as renderModel(you can specify refreshCondition too if you want to provide any)
c. Add Commit as button
