Lost my phone it had ios 7.2.0 with pass code and I cloud I'm aware it can be restore on DFU mode but can't use it if they don't have the iCloud user if and password the phones linked with. Question is in this process if the person connects it to his or her wifi to setup up the phone will I be able to track the phone after the restore ? Even though he can't use it because he has no Id no password

You can do nothing if it's not online. With a passcode and iOS 7.1 (there is no 7.2) the device is uselss because it cannot be erased except by you.

After reviewing your post, it sounds like you had one issue and then got a second trying to resolve the first. A frustrating situation for sure. When in DFU mode and connected to the computer iTunes does not say anything but iTunes will see the iPod and you can restore the iPod via iTunes. When in recovery mode and you connect, iTunes will say it found an iPod in recovery mode.

if your computer is not recognizing it, try using a different USB port or different usb cable. if that doesnt work you will need to uninstall and reinstall itunes.

I had the same problem. I squirted a drop of WD40 in the headphone hole and then used a plastic dental toothpick and twisted it around in the hole. It amazingly worked.

I would suggest that you perform a "soft" reset on the AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBS) that you just got from eBay. This type of reset will temporarily (5 minutes) disable both the base station and wireless security passwords so that you can access it with the AIrPort Utility to make the necessary changes.

If the iPhone is recognized by iTunes, restore it. At the end of the restore process, when you're prompted to by iTunes, do not restore from backup. This will eliminate corrupted/damaged files as the issue.
If the issue persists, it looks like you may need to make a second trip to the Apple store.
