Lost my iphotos how to transfer from Xdrive

I downloaded all my photos to an Xdrive, somehow they all ended up on the desk top, over 8K photos. They put the computer into slow motion, so I selected them all and sent them to trash. This freed up the computer but had no photos left. I have iPhoto backed up on an Xdrive using time machine, can I transfer the photos back and have them end up with events folders and whatever was there before the loss? And how is this done, copy and paste?

Thank you for getting me started.
I got my Xdrive hookedup, went into migration assistant and started the process. the only thing I got into applications, iPhoto is in there but when I progressed along it looked liked it was going to transfer all of the applications when I just wanted iPhoto, so I backed out of it. I thought about coping and pasting into iPhoto on my mac book, but didn't know how that would come out, especially after your comment say that can't be done. Looked on Pondini as well, what do I do now?

If your iPod was set for automatic update change it to manual update. While connecting the iPod to the computer, hold down the Shift + Ctrl keys. This will stop the iPod from auto-syncing with iTunes and the iPod will appear in the source list. Wait until you are sure the iPod has mounted, and that it will not auto sync and then you can let the keys go. This may take between 3 and 30 seconds depending on your computer. Then go to Preferences>iPod and check the "Manually manage songs and playlists" box.
Keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync again.
Another way is to connect your iPod and before it starts to sync, click the little X on the right hand side of the display beside the "Do Not Disconnect" message. The display is the little window to the right of the iTunes control buttons: iPod Interface

Go with whichever method you feel most comfortable. If at any point you are asked if you want to link your iPod to a new library, click No.

As long has you have synced your iPad via iTunes, then when you first plug in the iPad 2, it will ask you if you want to restore your iPad 1 settings and apps to your iPad 2.
If you want to transfer everything you can, on the same computer you used for old iPad, just restore the new iPad from the backup of your old iPad.

No, you should not use Dreamweaver. A good ftp program is Cyberduck.

You publish your site to a folder and then upload it with Cyberduck. I recommend you ask the IT Help desk of your university about how best to do this.

Lost my hard drive. How to transfer from IPOD to MacBook -OR!- Match?

I lost my entire harddrive on my W7 PC. I have most (but not all) of my music on my iPod. I just purchased a MacBook Pro, and iPhone 5, and subscribed to iTunes Match. QUESTION: How can I transfer all the songs on my iPod, from the ipod up into iTunes Match? In order to get those songs on ITunes in the new MacBook. Or is there a better way? Perhaps it is better to try and rip the songs off the iPod into iTunes and then up to iTunes Match??

IPhoto 9.5 lost lots of photos after transfer from external HD USB

Hi,
Our old MB with os 10.9.3 and iPhoto 9.5 was damaged and replaced with MBP 15 Retina with the same system.
As I have much more space on the new one decided to move iPhoto library from external USB (Seagate) HD to the new MBP.
I did drag and drop to the new location in Pictures in new MBP. About 64GB. Transfer went fine without any issue.
Unfortunately lots of pictures are lost. I can see the thumbnails but when trying to open them "Picture cannot be found".
I did experiment - Having connected external HD (library was still there) and iPhoto on I did "Switch to Library" to the newly transfered (the transfered one with missing pictures).
And now I can see all pictures there, no one missing. But when disconnect HD pictures are missing again.
Confusing.
Please advice.

Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.>Click on the Add Library button,
2 - select the library you want to add from those in the selection window.
3 - now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the Library ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
4 - in the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed. Click on the Create button.
Note 1: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments. However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost.
Note 2: Your current library will be left untouched for further attempts at a fix if so desired.

IPhoto How to "UNZIP" from ED

Greetings, I posted this a while ago, but the only response didn't work ("double click on the photos." ? Nope) ... & there was no way for me to reply to it.
I've also been looking through every "manual" & every "help" & most every discussion on iPhoto that's here, but so far, nada answers. So, here goes.
My Problem - How do you UNZIP photos uploaded from an External Drive & a USB... Is there a way to do so, or am I stuck with the small dpi?
In May 2012 my wonderful, first, Mac Desktop, Tiger ('06) crashed. It was like I Lost my baby! Alas, I had to get a new one - a 17" Lion Desktop. & I uploaded all those saved documents & photos from a USB & External Drive (I won't go into those not saved & lost forever, or the duplicate photos, AGUH! now fixed.)
But - as I uploaded these back ups - I didn't see anything about Un-Zipping photos before or while they were being uploaded . ? . So every photo uploaded - came in Zipped, with dpi of between 200s - 300s to 500s x 700s - sizes that don't print or send via E-mail or the Net very well (that same fella said his photos were "never zipped" to his USB or ED! . . . Well, all mine were zipped!) The only thing I do know - is that it was not my Camera (Cannon PowerShot A590) which I had set the dpi between 1600s x 1900s & some at 2500s x 1900s dpi.
Please, is there anyone with any ideas out there that might work?

PS, to prevent this mishap again, I don't delete any photos from memory cards! I'm using them as The Back Up & get new ones as needed!

How do you unzip photos - that were uploaded from USB or ED in iPhoto. All have low dpi, when they were not low on my camera! There is nothing that tells how to do this, & there was no indication to unzip when they were being uploaded...
I did not back up "the thumbnails or restored the thumbnails when you "uploaded" these back ups" as you say. As was suggested in "help" to back up photos - I dragged a "group"of photos from the Finder to a Burn folder...

What you have on your computer is your iTunes library, not your "account." The "account" you have for iTunes is your Apple ID, which you use when purchasing or downloading from the iTunes Store. If these songs came from music CDs that you imported into iTunes, those songs are not related to your Apple ID.

How are they not "recognized"? Are the songs still listed in your iTunes music library, but grayed out? They no longer appear in your iTunes library at all?
If you search your computer (not in iTunes) for the song files, using one of the song names, can you find the song files?
