Lost My iPod Touch and Have Questions
Can the finder of my iPod register it under his/her own info? What happens when they try to sync it on their computer? Can the finder access my account if he/she doesn't know my user name and password? I had no personal info on the device and did not automatically populate the password for purchasing an app. What should I be worried about (if anything) other than my broken heart? Thanks.

An iPod is desirable, period. What you can do is the usual: Keep track of it like you would a credit card, don't store too much personal stuff on it (pictures are an exception), etc. You can also lock the screen, requiring that a passcode is needed to open it up. (Don't forget the numbers, however.)
There is an app called "If Found." It puts a customizable desktop picture on the iPod Touch; you could leave a phone # and a "reward when returned" notice there. (I've only recently heard of this; I am going to download it myself.) Might want to look at that. You can also get the iPod engraved with your name, if you think that might help. (Me, I think it's a waste unless you're giving it as a gift.)

You can do better than that. You can click on the Restore button that appears under your device in iTunes. This will restore your iPod to factory settings as if it were fresh out of the box. But don't worry. By doing a restore, you will then be given the option to "Restore from Backup." This will allow you to restore the state of your previous iPod!!

When you download iTunes material, does iTunes record the IP used where it is being downloaded to? I am trying to track a lost/missing IPOD Touch and want to know if they have that data. It was left on a small street and someone has found it and has been hacking into my account by resetting my password. They took about 41+ dollars from my account. I am hoping the IP it was connecting with to download to it was tracked and that I can get that information to figure out where it is located.

i own a ipod touch and a ipad2g but i lost my ipod touch and downloaded the find iphone app on my ipad and when i opened the app my ipod touch wasnt even listed on it as one of my products but i use the same apple id for all of my products??!! Please Help
Ive never used that but I think there is a find ipod app. But im not sure. The ipod might have had to have it on?

I have an old ipod touch, and have just purchased a new 4th Gen one. How do I get my Apps from the old one to the new one. I've had to wipe the hard drive on my Pc so they aren't in my I tunes.

No. Find my iPod touch is the only way to track it. When updating to iOS 5.0, you were asked if you wanted to use Find my iPod touch, and the only way to get past that screen is to select Yes or No. In order for you not to have it, you must have selected No.

I need some major help!
My iPod Touch has been misplaced by me. It has a passcode. I have it set to where it automatically asks to connect to Wi-Fi when around the Wi-Fi, but since it has a passcode lock, I doubt that will happen in the lock screen. I put it into lost mode on Find my iPod/iPhone, but it's pending and must connect to Wi-Fi to begin anything I remotely do.
Can anybody help me out?- The FindMyPhone app only allows you to locate one iOS device using another iOS device.

I have purchased the ios 3.1 update for my 1st generation iPod Touch, but cannot get it to download. When I check the summary on iTunes, it says that I have the most up-to-date version of 2.1. I am using a new laptop, windows 7, with ipod touch, hoping to listen to, whilst on line, edit and add music to my ipod library. I have downloaded i.tunes but it does not show my library. I'm in the same situation and think 5.5.1 is the latest our iPods will take. I just had to Reset & Restore, and I couldn't restore two apps that now require iOS 7.1.
