Lost my music in last update

I updated to the new IOS 5 on my daughter's iPhone 3G, along with the newest iTunes, 10.5 I think. This was done on a Windows laptop that we hadn't previously used for iPhone/iTunes syncing. The original laptop used when we got the phone, has died and this is the first time to sync to anything in a long time. She's been downloading songs directly from the phone. A LOT of songs. I didn't think I chose to erase all music in the library, but here it is, updated with the newest software, and no songs. This is all off of my Apple ID account. All of my songs are showing in the library, but not hers...and believe me, they are very different! My question is how to restore the songs that were on her phone before the update so that I haven't just thrown away hundreds of dollars worth of music? I've looked in available downloads and all that shows is some TV shows I'd downloaded over 2 years ago, but no music. Help!!

Did you fail to transfer purchases from iphone to computer before updating?
If so, then you will need to redownload:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

Not directly but you can sync to an iTunes equipped computer and then sync to the iPad...unless you have single-use tunes which cannot be shared.

"Lost" my Catalog after last update!

I have PSE9+PRE9 and I was using Organizer's Catalog! After the last update from Adobe I just "lost" all items in my Catalog! Any advice? Using Mac OS X 10.6.7.

Ok, I kind of solved it myself: used a backup of the "My Catalog" folder using Time Machine.

You can go to iTunes, and download any music tracks for free if you have already downloading them. Same goes for apps, go to the App Store on your iPod, Updates, and then Purchased. From there, download anything for free (that you purchased before). All app progress will be saved too.
OR, if you have a reliable backup, you can restore from that.

Lost email folders on last update

Updated my MacBook Pro last night. Today I have none of my saved folders in email. Been an Apple user for many years and have had more trouble since updating to Lion that in all the prior years. Holding off on Mountain Lion and losing faith in Apple.

No, you cannot keep using Safe Mode, but it indicates that some third-party startup item is interfering with Bluetooth. I have no idea what that could be. Do you have any third-party devices or software that uses bluetooth?

Have you not got the music on your computer and/or on backups on, for example, external drives or CDs/DVDs ?

After the last update of itunes I seem to have lost all my music (Cds that I had downloaded into itunes) except the once I had purchased from the itunes store. Can anyone help? Do you know what might have happened?

After the last update of itunes I seem to have lost all the music that I had downloaded from my Cds. It was a lot of music! All I still have is the music that I had purchased in the itunes store. And before you asked. No, I did not have a backup. Never got around to do it.

Hi - I seem to have a similar problem. I was prompted to update to iPhoto 11 yesterday (don't know why yesterday, I'm in iPhoto all the time). So I followed the instructions, library updated, all existing events and albums are there. I uploaded some more pictures and created a few new albums and did some new year spring cleaning, moving stuff around etc. And I started making a calendar.
I've opened it up today, my calendar is still there as are all the new events, but the pictures are empty outlines. If I open up a picture I just get the "!" but I can still see the thumbnails showing in the slider in the bottom - I don't know if that means the source files must still be there somewhere, or if it just means it captured thumbnails yesterday.
I've gone into it via "show package contents" and there just don't seem to be any masters for an upload yesterday. I also just had a look in the last import folder, because of a comment from someone above. As I scrolled down through the folder the images were there and literally disappeared in front of me - by which I mean, the thumbnails were there as I scrolled down and then would turn into empty outlines...!
All my old folders are still there, thankfully (although they're of course the ones that are also all safely back up).
Although I have a timecapsule, my photo library is too big to keep on my hard drive, so I keep it on an external drive - so it only gets backed up when I do it manually (thanks Apple for that, I will never understand why it was designed to work - or not work - that way). So if the pictures have been lost then they are gone for good which is super-frustrating (I just got back from South Korea and was in the middle of sorting out all my shots from that trip). It seems that this can only have happened because of the update - I should have known better than to have pressed yes.
If you have any ideas, I'd be most grateful!

well first make sure that when you click on the name of your iphone on the left hand side of itunes that you go to the app and music tab and check mark the sync apps and sync music. then try clicking apply in the bottom right hand corner. then if not try doing it again after going to prefrences in the top menu and going to devices tab and click reset sync history if that doesnt work with music try and drop and drag to the name of your iphone, lastly if that doesnt work you can try restoring from a backup from before you updated. it will keep the new software but put everything that was on your phone when you created the backup back onto your phone.

Working on that now. I'm just getting frustrated that everytime I run updates for the phone I end up with tech problems that I have to spend time solving as opposed to updates that actually improve my usage. Now I will once again get to spend hours reloading my phone all for updates that didn't affect my usage in the first place.

When I tried my cloud, there was nothing. I would get notifications that my cloud was full, but I thought there would at least be some photos in there. When I tried to restore a back up, it said the last time was two years ago. I thought when you're on wifi, it automatically backs up. I've charged my iPhone into my Macbook a bunch of times, so something should have backed up. Is there any hope for my photos?

Yes phone will automatically backup to icloud when on wifi and phone is charge, but your phone storage was full so it stop backing up.
