Lost my partition by using DiskUtility in Yosemite

Hi Bro,
I'm newbie in Mac, now using Macbook Pro Retina, with Yosemite Os.
In my SSD hard drive, I have 3 partition that named: Macintosh HD, Data and Temp.
This afternoon, I use DiskUtility to erase my Temp partition because I think this erase partition will be merged with partition before (Data)
So now, I can not use the Temp partition, and can not resize Macintosh HD and Data partition as image attached below
I lost 10GB in Temp partition.
Do you meet this case, and anyone can fix it?

Apart from boot camp I had one more partition in my windows, after the Yosemite update i lost that partition.

i had saw loner solved some similar issues who have lost their boot camp after Yosemite update, but my issue is different. i had thee partitions in windows one mac as usual, one boot camp and one i made in windows by shrinking the boot camp partition. but after the Yosemite update i lost the partition which i have made. both mac and windows working perfectly. requesting your suport

Please provide a bit more detail on what 'recognize' means. A screen shot is always very helpful.

G500 Lost all partitions... :( Cannot install windows 8.1

I have lost recovery partition (frankly, all of the partitions...) and tried to install brand new Windows 8.1 from scratch. But the Installer stucks on the first screen - it wants drivers for storage/usb devices. I tried to download the drivers from the lenovo suport pages and there are only binary executables (no *.inf files inside the archive, only sth like setuprst.exe and so), so the installer still cannot find the drivers. I'm totally lost - can someone help me? Maybe you have image of the recovery partition, so I could get drivers from there...

I did it. After fours hours and two hours on the phone with Apple support, I installed Windows 8.1 to my iMac. So, I just wanted to share it with you.
System:
iMac 2013, 27" monitor, 1T fusion drive, wirless keyboard, magic mouse.
Software:
OS X 10.9
Windows 8.1 full version 64bit
(I skipped some steps such as type in software key, choose language, etc.)
1. For my last try, Instead of using Bootcamp assistant to setup partition for Windows, I used disk utility to create an 100G space for Windows with FAT file system and named it BOOTCAMP.
2. Insert Windows CD into the USB super drive.
3. Shutdown iMac.
4. While press and hold the left "option" key, turn on iMac.
5. Select CD/Windows icon to boot.
6. Choose Custom installation
7. Select the partition named BOOTCAMP (I am not sure why it is 200G; I assigned 100G. Well...)
8. Format
And the rest is history. By the way, when Windows restarts during installation, make sure to press and hold the left "option" key to boot up Windows.
I do not know why but I am happy now. As a matter of fact, I am sending this message from Windows 8.1 running on my iMac.

Query on STRIP Using DISKUTIL and Data Safty Issues

Here is an interesting (probably DUMB) question based on my current RAID config:
7x500GB (RAID5 - one hdd can go down and no issue) = Vol#1
7x500GB (RAID5 - one hdd can go down and no issue) = Vol#2
The above using Diskutil I have made on STRIP Vol#1+Vol#2 = RAID50.
From the above what are my chances of loosing data based on following three senarios:
1. what if one of the controller fails, will I still see the entire volume
2. what if one of the controller fails, will I loose everything on RAID50 (STRIP)?
3. what if one of the controller fails, I replace the controller with a new one, will I get my data back?
Please advice the above?

You will lose access to the entire volume. The data will be intact but you cannot access the volume (on either controller) until the failed controller is replaced.

No. Your data will be intact. You just can't access it.

Yes. The replacement controller can read the RAID configuration from the drives. Replacing the failed controller will restore access to your volume.
Just for the record I have over a dozen XServe RAIDs (including one of the very first revisions using 180GB drives) all working 24/7 in a production network and have never lost a controller, power supply, or any other component other than one (or maybe two) failed disks. In my experience the failure rate is very low.

Lost the partition in Time Capsule

Hi all,
I have a Time capsule from 2012 (the latest model) and I partitioned in the same year: 1TB for backups and 1TB to store my data.
Today I noticed that my Time capsule has recorded the last backup in January 2015 and it is no more partitioned. I did not change anything and now I have lost all my backups and ALL MY DATA form the partitioned part.
Can somebody help?

Firstly a Time Capsule from 2012 is not the latest . It is gen4 A1409.. The latest is gen 5 A1470 and is the tall AC model.. It was released, mid 2013
Next it is not possible to truly partition a TC unless you remove the disk.. did you do that??
If not you partitioned the Time Machine Sparsebundle which is very bad.. or you are meaning something else by partition like you created a second virtual disk.
When you partitioned it.. and now lost the partition.. all that has happened is likely you lost the file name.
Have you done a full factory reset of the TC.. use all short names no spaces and pure alphnaumerics.. for everything.. base station name, wireless name and disk share name.. please do that.. no files are lost with this kind of reset.. if the file is still lost you will have to decide how important recovery is to you.. you cannot recover from a TC.. you need to open the TC and pull out the disk.. put it in a holder and plug into your computer via USB... then run a recovery software.. like data rescue 3.. quite expensive but it has a trial download to see if there is any point to it. You also have a better chance of finding your files.. If it is merely backups.. just make a new one and don't worry too much.
And do not partition the sparsebundle as that is really bad.

Delete a Volume using diskutil

Hi, I have split a volume on an externe USB-drive using "diskutil resizeVolume..".
How can I delete on of the volumes or merge the two volumes into one using diskutil. Bootcamp doesn't work on external drives.

Without resorting to third-party tools, the only way to change the partitions on a hard drive is to repartition the entire drive, which makes all data on the drive inaccessible. Without third-party tools, you need to backup all the data on the drive, repartition the drive to define partitions with the sizes you want, then restore the data you had backed up to the new partitions, as appropriate.
Some third-party utilities claim to permit you to change the partitions on a drive without reformatting. In alpahbetical order by product name:
• ProSoft Engineering Drive Genius.
• Coriolis Systems Ltd. iPartition.
• SubRosaSoft VolmeWorks.
IMO, these tools are risky. I've not used them and I cannot personally verify that they work as advertised. I would not try using these tools unless I had complete and current backups of all partition on the drive on which I was planning to use these tools.
If you plan to repartition your drive, this is much more easily done if you have implemented a comprehensive Backup and Recovery solution.

It may be that someone has turned it off or it may be that it has been lost in an area where there is no reception. The best thing that you can do, is contact your provider and let them know that you have lost your phone, and change your iCloud password at My Apple ID

So sorry to hear about the trouble with Wi-Fi! Let's get that working the way it should. Could you provide us some more details regarding where this breakdown occurs? Are you having trouble with turning Wi-Fi on or connecting to your Wi-Fi? Are other devices connecting to your Wi-Fi without issue?

I'm afraid you're out of luck. If it says incomplete you won't be able to access the backup.

Yes. After Windows/Bootcamp discovers your bluetooth device (Magic Trackpad or Mouse, be sure to make it discoverable), right click, with your wired mouse, of course, on the icon and select Properties.
Then check the mouse drivers box and your device should work. (I located this solution on another thread)
It works for both the Magic Mouse and Magic Trackpad.
Must admit, the solution was not intuitive within the Windows environment. But we all must remember. It IS Windows, after all.
Another thing. Keep in mind that the gestures on these devices that work just dandy in OSX do not carry over into Windows.
It's Windows.

I have 2T imac running lion Can I re-partition and use one half as a back up disk?

Bought a new mac in November and it is refused to start up yesterday. Spoke with Apple and they said I should make sure I do regular back ups in case I l ose my hard drive?!?! I did a clean install of the Operating software but was advised to erase and install.
I have taken all my important stuff off and can reinstall my programs once I get to the next stage so what I am wondering is

You could partition the drive, I read that Time Machine will work on if you HD partition.
BUT, it will do you no good if you HD fails.
Usually, if a HD fails it's the entire drive that is dead not just a partition.
So your time machine back would be on a dead disk, useless!
