Lost my photoshop disk

hi
my hard drive was erased/ my disk drive is broken. I don't have my photoshop disk or serial numbers anymore but how can i re-install my photoshop without my photoshop disk?
i have proof my purchase from 2010 in email format.

Which version of Ps are you referring to, and for which platform?
If you bought from Adobe, just log-in to Adobe.com, and look for your software. The S/N should be there.
Same if you bought elsewhere, and Registered Ps with Adobe.
Now, and depending on the version, you should be able to go to ProDesignTools, and find the trial download (you MUST read and follow their instructions) for your version (if not too old), install that, then plug-in your S/N, and Activate (again, depends on version, as CS & CS 2 no longer have an Activation server - if CS, or CS 2, there IS a link to downloading and Activation, that will be furnished).

Good luck, and let us know more, please.

  • I lost my original disk for photoshop 7... I need to update.. it won't let me.. and keeps asking for the disk.. even though the program is on my pc... How can i get my update?

I have photoshop 7 on my pc but have lost my original disk.... I went to update it and  the update is not seeing the file on my pc... and it keeps asking for my disk.. but i can't find it...
    How can i update it...

Ah, you had Photoshop 7.0 working, and now it's not.  I see that as a separate issue to updating it.  I'm not sure why it would ask you to update it.
Do you know whether you have 7.0 or 7.0.1 at this point?  You might be able to do a Properties function on Photoshp.exe and see that info.
You could make an attempt to reset Photoshop's preferences to defaults.  Press and hold Control - Shift - Alt simultaneously immediately upon cold-starting Photoshop. If you get the keys down quickly enough - and you have to be really quick - it will prompt you to confirm deletion of your current preferences, which will lead to the establishment of a fresh default set.  If it does not prompt you, you haven't been quick enough to get the keys down.
Only other thing that comes to mind is to use Windows System Restore to restore back to a restore point where Photoshop was working, or restore from a backup (you do make backups I hope).
If that fails, and you need to do a fresh install but no longer have the original disk and serial number I'm afraid you may be out of luck.  There's no place I know of from which to download a fresh full copy of Photoshop 7.0.

  • Disk Utitlity has "Lost Connection" with Disk Management tool"

[ Edited by Apple Discussions Moderator; please start a new topic about your technical issue. ]
    Running OSX10.3.8
    I installed:
    "iTunes" (6.0.2)
    "iPod Updater 2005-11-17" ((null))
    "iChat Update" (2.1)
    Went to repair disk permissions
    I get this error:
Disk Utitlity has "Lost Connection" with Disk Management tool" Please quit Disk Utility.
then it says quitting Disk Utility may render the disk useless. Stopping the scan just gives a "stopped by User" red text message in the DU screen.
Had to Quit. No other way out.
Now it will not repair "or" verify Disk permissions at all.
    What to do?
    Powermac G4 1.25ghz, OS9/OSX   Mac OS X (10.3.8)

Getting the same results booting off of the install CD. I even ran fsck -y after a soft boot(command S). Note I also installed the iPod updater and iChat update.
I'm getting a crash log that has to do with DiskManagement
    Path: /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/DiskManagement.framework/Resources/DiskManage mentTool
I tossed the pref file for Disk utility and tried to locate a pref for the Disk Management but nada...
Is there a prefs file that needs to be tossed?
Anyone do a recent Onyx Maintainence cleaning?
Is there a way to do an iTunes Uninstal and reinstall a previous version?

You can get replacement System Install & Restore CD/DVDs from Apple's Customer Support - in the US, (800) 767-2775 - for a nominal S&H fee. You'll need to have the model and/or serial number of your Mac available.

  • I need to reinstall the system software on my older iMac. I have lost the system disks, though... so now what? It had 10.4.

I need to reinstall the system software on my older iMac. I have lost the system disks, though... so now what? It had 10.4. We moved, and I have looked everywhere. Am I doomed to find a way to buy it? Can taking it into the Apple Store fix it? Will it be expensive THERE? I've already saved all of the files I want off of it.... I just need it to work now.

You've lost me on why you need to reinstall Tiger, when you already have all the files you wanted (which means Tiger worked perfectly fine). If you want to upgrade to Leopard, that's a different issue: your Mac needs to meet the minimum system requirements for that, which you can easily determine.
If you just want to get a replacement set of Tiger install discs, you can try calling AppleCare and see if they're able to send you a replacement set, and if not, you'll have to buy a new set yourself. You can get them on eBay, Craigslist, and HardCore Mac (http://store.yahoo.com/hardcoremac/), although they sell it for ridiculous prices.

  • I lost my Hard disk and had to replace it, how can I get another copy of lion OS, P.S. I bought my macbook pro with preinstalled Lion OS

I lost my Hard disk and had to replace it with a new one, how can I get another copy of lion OS, as the guy at the serive center installed 10.6 for me.
P.S. I bought my macbook pro with preinstalled Lion OS

If you have a way to wipe 10.6.8 off, you can then reboot your machine (with no OS) and since your system came preinstalled with Lion, Internet Recovery should occur which will boot to Apple's servers into a Recovery HD for you to redownload and install Lion.
To be safe I would first make a clone of the current installation using Carbon Copy Cloner or SuperDuper!. This way you have a way to recover.

I would first go to your Adobe Account and make sure that all info in it was correct and then match up all S/N's with your records. If you find any problems, then make corrections.
If all matches, but does not work, contact Adobe and see if they still sell replacement DVD's for CS2. Adobe usually does, for a small price. Still, you will need your correct S/N, so you will probably be back on the phone to Adobe. When I once used them for a S/N problem, they were quick and did a perfect job.

  • I've lost come photoshop cs 8.0 files and have been told by a recovery company that they can't be saved. Is this true?

I've lost some Photoshop cs 8.0 files and have been told by a recovery company that they can't be saved. I've attached a screen shot of what seems to remain of one of the files.  You will see it has 3 different icons that correspond to it. One a 'thumbnail'; one a 'meta' and one an 'exec' file. I have no idea what this means and whether or not someone more experienced in recovery can tell me if these kinds of files are salvageable.  Any kind of input would be great. I'm not well versed in the language that's probably involved in describing this...

This is where the icons that appear are located - not the original files.
The icons are straggler files.  No your original files would not be located there.  The original files (.app files) would be located inside the Application folder.
In fact - I really don't even know why these icons are still on the computer.
It's because when the files were deleted, you did not use an uninstaller.  I do not use Photoshop, but if it comes with an uninstaller, when using same, the uninstaller gets rid of all the straggler files that are attached to the application.  3rd party uninstallers also get rid of straggler files.
I have no idea what they mean or what their function is.
To know what they do, you should post over in the Adobe Forums: Forum: Adobe Photoshop forum area.  It's where all the Mac Photoshop users hang out.  These users will be able to explain to you which files you can safely remove associated with your "lost" files.

  • Installing indesign : asking for photoshop disk

after a hard drive crash, i'm trying to reinstall all my programs. i've successfully installed photoshop and illustrator but during my indesign cs3 install (downloaded from the adobe.com) it asks me to insert my photoshop cs4 disk. since i've purchased photoshop online i obviously don't have a disk to install. the last disk i have is photoshop cs. i tried inserting the disk to see if it would would and it doesn't.
so, issue #1, why is it asking for a photoshop disk when i'm installing indesign
#2, how do i work around this?
called the help line but they won't help me because it's not the current version of indesign.

That's pretty strange. The CS3 installers were pretty flakey, though....
    What's the OS?
