Lost my Pro Tools plug-ins

Just got macbook pro on ebay, didn't have a password to change settings, got a start up disk for the machine from apple for leopard, restarted the machine holding down the "c" button, reinstalled leopard and when i restarted i had lost a whole world of plug-ins for pro tools 8 LE and for garage band as well. tried the time machine app to no avail. how do i get back what was there before i reinstalled leopard?

There are two things you can do - you can reinstall the RED plugs,
this time
into the CS4 directory, or you can move the plugs from the CS3
directory to
the corresponding CS4 directory. The second would be quicker, but
requires
CS3 to still be installed. If it is, you just need to move the files
called
"FL7-BorisRed4P3.prm", "FX6-BorisRed4P3.prm" and "IM-BorisRed4.prm"
from
this location -
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Common\Plug-ins\CS3\MediaCore
To this location -
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Common\Plug-ins\CS4\MediaCore
If you do not find the RED plugs in the CS3 MediaCore folder, try
looking
here instead -
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Pro CS3\Plug-ins\en_US

Hello. I went to Tools, Plug-ins and check for updates as I do once a week, every week, and yet now, after checking, Firefox says 'no plug-ins detected'. My plug-ins are still all there in Tools, Add-ons, so why am I getting this message?

I check my plug-is for updates once a week, yet as of today, despite the fact that my plug-ins are all still there in Tools, plug-ins, after I click on the find updates button, I get the usual screen that tells me Firefox is checking for updates to my plug-ins, but then I get the message saying 'No plug-ins detected.' This has never happened before and it means I can't check for updates to my plug-ins.

There is a fault with the plugin check service, Mozilla are looking into it.

Lost my 3rd party plug-ins with upgrade to CS4

The 3rd party (Boris) files are still in the program files, but they are no longer in my effects panel. How can I get them back? Do I have to reload original software and complete all the updates again? Thanks

Adobe Acrobat Pro X - plug-ins not loaded

I recently purchased Adobe Acrobat Pro for our company with multiple user licences. Once installed I noticed a lot of features which were in previous versions are not available. When I select the “Help” “About Adobe Plug-ins...” tab, almost all of the plug-ins are not loaded. Is this right and if not, how do I fix it. After reading numerous blogs I still do not have an answer – most refer to 3rd party plug-ins but not to this problem. NB: I am not an IT expert, but can help myself fairly well on software. Using Windows 7. Uninstalled Google Chrome as someone suggested it affects the plug-ins (which also did not solve the problem!)

It's working correctly.
The Help > About Adobe Plug-ins dialog shows the status of dynamic extensions which ship with Acrobat - not third-party plugins you may have installed yourself. These core extensions are loaded on demand, so if you don't have a document open, very few of them will be loaded. It's why the dialog bothers to tell you their status in the first place.
Third-party plugins need to be reinstalled if you upgrade to Acrobat X, as the installation folder is different. Some that were written for previous versions won't work with Acrobat X, especially if they're not designed to cope with the Tools Pane or Protected View in 10.1, but they will not appear on that dialog - they appear on the next menu item down, "About Third-Party Plug-ins".
The UI in Acrobat X is radically different from previous versions, but very few features are actually missing - what are you looking for that you can't find?

Help! Lost my third party plug-ins after restoring OSX!

I restored my Mac last night to a previous time machine backup. When I tried to open Logic just now, it seems that all my plug-ins have disappeared! I don't see any of them listed on the menu and yet all of the component files still are in the right folders still. What am I doing wrong?

You are looking in the wrong place probably. "Listed on the menu" What menu? Just create a Software Instrument track and click its I/O slot.

What specific error message do you see if you try to open an existing PNG file?
I assume PNG is not in the list of file formats you see when doing File - Save As.
Here's what I see when I choose File - Save As to save an 8 bits/channel RGB document using Photoshop CS6. What other formats are missing on your setup that you see here?

Final Cut Pro similar plug-ins for iMovie?

I'd like some more functions for my current movie editing software (iMoive '09), are there any plug-ins for imovie that have FCP features? Features like multicam, screen on screen, split screen , green screen, after effects, hd camera support, etc....
I would just buy FCPX (maybe in the future, but not now) but I don't want to pay $300 + tax for an app with physical disk and packaging that I end up not liking, and I also don't have a credit card for the Mac App Store version. I would try torrenting it but I've heard some rumors of it crashing the whole computer, phising and what not. I'd rather take my chances with iMovie plug-ins than a pirated copy of FCPX.
I wish there was a cheaper version like how Autodesk does their whole express and pro versions (Sketchbook Express/Pro, AutoCad Express/Pro), I am aware that at one point there was a FCP Express that's now discontinued....

I appreciate that you don't have a credit card to use on the Mac App Store, but iMovie '11 is available for the paltry sum of US$14.99 - this latest version has some of the effects you are seeking, such as Picture in Picture, Side by Side and Green Screen. iMovie '09 may also have some of these features (I can't recall, as I've been using iMovie '11 for some time now).
Both iMovie '09 and '11 support HD cameras and a range of formats. If a format is not supported, it is relatively easy to convert clips to a suitable editing format for iMovie.
In Australia, cards (such as Visa) are available for a nominal value from the local supermarket. These can be safely used for internet purchases, given their specific value. So, you purchase a card for pretty much the exact value you require, make your purchase then destroy the card. I guess a similar thing is available in the US and other countries. That may be a good option for you if you wish to purchase apps from the Mac App Store.

PSE 11 does not acknowledge Nik software - Silver Efex pro - as plug-ins

I bought and downloaded PSE 11 and find that it will not acknowledge or reconize NIK software. I have PSE 8 and LR4 and have NIK software working on those programs. Any help would be very much appreciated.

I want to open an excel file from a folder in the Microsoft live office on Hotmail. Their instruction is to go to tools in Firefox, go to plug-ins and then install Microsofts Office 2010. Can't find plug-h. Help?

I have uploaded an excel file from my desk top to the Windows Live (HOTMAIL?) office suite. When I try to open the file I get an error that says my system is not supported. My system passes all of the listed criteria except for one. That is a plug in from Firefox. The instructions say to go to the Firefox menu, click on tools then plug-ins. Of course when I go to tools plug-ins is not immediately available, but when I do go to plug-ins, I am to click on Microsoft Office 2010. This plug in is supposed to allow earlier versions of office documents to be viewed as well as Office 2010. The plug-in is not available. When I search the Firefox website I am not able to find such a plug-in.
I am using Microsoft XP, Office 2007 and the version of Firefox prior to V4. V4 does not support all of my e-mail clients so am not able to use V4.

Plug-In icon cut off under Tools/Plug-In

Using Reader X or Acrobat X my plug-in is cut off if I've left Tools/Plug-Ins expanded where I can see my icons and then leave Reader/Acrobat (exit/ X) and open another document (links from our page). If I shrink Plug-ins down before leaving, this does not happen.
Anybody else run into this and is there a solution? I've tried every Preference I can find and it doesn't change that behavior.

Does anybody know of a good site to get Final Cut Pro 5 plug-ins? I'm really looking for a filter that resembles the "film projector" look. Something with a flicker with it??? Any info about good plug-in sites and especially "free" plug-ins for FCP5 would be greatly appreciated.

Missing Plug-ins for JBI Component Support

Hie, I'm currently trying to install a pair of JBI Component Support Development Tools plug-ins, org-netbeans-modules-jbi-apisupport.nbm and org-netbeans-modules-jbi-apisupport-jbilib.nbm. However when I try to install them via the Update Center, I get the following error:

Actually, Indesign only says like "I can't open, because it was saved from a newer version" and does not list any extensions/plugins.
If you now make a new document, save it and open again - will it work?
Those plug-ins are usually enabled/disabled via the Adobe Extension Manager (Menü "Hilfe"->Erweiterungen verwalten).

FCP5 conflict with Pro Tools

FCP 5 will not launch with Pro Tooles LE 6.4 installed. I've seen some posts talking of Pro Tools plug in conflict but no solutions.
Any ideas?

List of Plug-Ins

I was having major problems with Firefox and so I reset it. Now I seem to have lost all of my plug-ins and I can't seem to figure out either how to restore them, or how to reinstall them. Please help. I'm lost without AdBlocker and the magnifier of text Plugins.

When you reset Firefox then a new profile is created and some personal data (bookmarks, history, cookies, passwords, form data) is automatically imported and the current profile folder will be moved to the desktop to an "Old Firefox Data" folder.<br />
Installed extensions and other customizations (toolbars, prefs) that you have made are lost and need to be redone.
It is possible to recover more data from the old profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over the problem.
