Lost my sidebar on all internet browsers.... Need a fix. Just cant scroll up or down.

Did you turn off the hardware acceleration?
Since you have 3 browsers and they all are having issues and you listed the FF add ons we'll try to see what is conflicting with that browser first.
First I need to know what Anti-Virus program you are using and does it have it's own Firewall; if not do you use any Firewall other than Windows Firewall?
Do you have an extensions in FF? Do you have any plugins or add ons that pertain to your Anti-Virus in FF?

Upon carefully looking at the fonts in my fontbook, I noticed that the font which is commonly used on the websites was missing all other kinds except its bold version. How did they get deleted beats me. Anyhow, I have now installed the regular, italic, and bold-italic versions of the font and it is all back to normal. ccccc

All Internet Browsers Freezing

I've found lately that all my internet browsers freeze after a random amount of time surfing, The only way to get out of it is a force quit.
Here's my info:

Ditto - numerous crashes. I have repaired disk permissions. Reinstalled Flash 10. ESPN.com will not load and the beach ball appears. Open to any and all suggestions to repair. Very frustrating. Happens in Firefox as well.

Flash in Iweb 08 not working on all internet browsers!

I have incorperated flash movies into a site or two, for some reason they work fine if your using firefox or safari, but they don't work right if your using Internet Explorer. (which is what alot of people still use)
I was just wandering if anyone else has ran into this and if so what I could do to fix it.

Actually, we have an issue with scalable HTML content and smartshapes where smartshapes do not work as buttons in scaled mode.
Please try switching off the "Scalable HTML Content" option in the Publish dialog before publishing. Then it should work.

All Internet Browsers Running Poorly

My MacBook Pro has a 2.33 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo and 2 GB of RAM, but lately my Internet browser have been running very poorly. It's not an upload/download speed problem, but rather my Internet browser (whether I use Firefox or Safari) will take use nearly 100% CPU. The only solution I've found is to disable Java and Javascript, but that obviously can't be a permanent solution on today's Internet. I only have Mac OS 10.5.8, so will upgrading to 10.6 fix this problem?

In the event it's an operating system-related problem, download the 10.5.8 combo update from http://support.apple.com/kb/DL866 . Using Disk Utility, repair permissions, install the combo update, then repair permissions again afterwards. Run Software Update in the event it's needed after the install.

I forgot to include in my post that I had downloaded the new flash after the "no audio" began and it did not help. The problerm began some time after I installed OS 10.7.4.

Completely lost all internet connection on brand new MacBook Pro

2 week old 2011 17-in MacBook Pro, running Lion (factory installed). I should note that this is my first Mac, so I'm still learning my way around, however it's highly unlikely I did anything to cause this to happen.
The problem is pretty simple - I have lost all internet connectivity no matter what method it's connected. I have tried it on my company network via ethernet, and several different WiFi networks. All connections are recognized as connected, but I cannot make any outside connection.
We've rebooted networks servers, rebooted/shut down the Mac, re-checked all of the network settings - everything is what it should be.
Everything literally was working perfect one second and completely lost the next.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Why are certain Gmail messages and conversations not appearing in Firefox 4 (I get the left sidebar, top bar, but message fails to appear), but functions fine in all other browsers?

Certain messages in Gmail are not displaying properly (http://img607.imageshack.us/i/screenshot20110228at101.png/). These messages appear properly in all other browsers (including previous versions of Firefox), and also appear when I disable all labs. Disabling Right Side Chat labs appears to enable display of the message, but destroys all formatting (page stretches to the right beyond viewable resolutions, line breaks disappear), and so on.

I have thoroughly checked and double-checked all the factors below.
On two different computers. Unfortunately, nothing has helped yet.
I can assure you that each item listed below has been checked several times during all my searching today and ALSO again right now.
There are no problems with Plugins, Themes or Extensions found. No permissions blocked, No media blocked images, No third-party permissions blocked. No images blocked from any domains. And images are 'Enabled'. There are no exceptions in place to the loading images. No exclusions in my security software settings.
AND I have checked all of this on a second computer that is also having this same problem. That person is using a different security software than I am but they are having the same problem with images in only their Gmail account also - but NOT when using IE9. Only when signing in through Firefox. And we both think it started yesterday or this morning.
That pc is still on Firefox version 12.0. I updated earlier today to version 13.0 but the problem is still ongoing for both of us.
Any further help will be greatly appreciated.
I have to get something accomplished. WAY behind now.

Vertical Spry Menu-IE alters positioning. How do I fix this? Works in all other browsers correctly.

I've recently uploaded a new website and am having a glitch with internet explorer with the vertical spry menu. It appears perfectly in all other browsers. I had added css rules to move up some of the longer submenus so they would all appear on the screen without needing to scroll down on the main page to view them. In internet explorer, it positions the top menu item, but the rest of the list does not follow in suit. Any ideas? This is super frustrating! Thanks!

I see now and it's really a little crazy, because the menus are there, just not where they should be.
I still need to investigate the matter thoroughly a little more closely, because I never saw it till now. Too bad that Gramps has not seen the thread, I'm convinced he will do the trick immediately! What if you would write a letter to him?By the way, did you make a try it with the original version of "SpryMenuBarVertical.css".

Bold text does not display in internet browsers

I am working on editing a website for a client that I did not originally create so I am having trouble trying to figure out what the previous designer did.
I need to make certain text within paragraphs bold, which I normally do by inserting tags. However when I do this in my coding, it does not display as bold in any of my internet browsers ... IE, Firefox, Chrome, etc.
Can someone please help me with this or suggest what I may have to change in my coding?

The reason it is happening is because the element is the child of an , the is in turn the child of a tag and all of them are set to inherit the font attributes from thier parent tags. The first parent in the chain with a font setting is the <div> tag with the "left_column" class.
The "left_column" class tells all of those child tags to set their text as 14px, black, Arial due to the font:inherit.
The reset is meant to allow you to create css styles for all future tags without any default style being applied by the browser (as Rik suggests, creating the actual " strong {font-weight:bold;}" in your css would also do the trick). Since you don't specify any attributes for those tags other than "inherit your font styling from your parent", they take their attributes from the first parent element with an attribute.

All my browsers hijacked to smellypopcorn . com

My nieces downloaded something somehow (Myspace? AIM? ringtone?) and now all the browsers (Safari, IE, Firefox) on both their macs (running Panther) only go to a site called smellypopcorn . com, no matter what we type in the address fields. Any ideas on how to fix this? or what happenened? I'm finding nothing about this any where online. (and I'm afraid to go to the site on my remaining clean mac for fear of being infected there too)

Look in the Macintosh HD/Library/Internet Plug-Ins Folder. Are there any Plug-Ins that can be associated with the Smelly Popcorn website?
If so, delete them.

Why Firefox 25.0 does not show Google ads and Facebook comments and likes. All other browsers do.

I've just upgraded to FireFox 25.0 and I have issues viewing Google ads and Facebook comments and likes on my website (wellfitstyle.com). All other browsers show Google adds in the right sidebar and Facebook comments and likes under each post. Great number of people in Eastern Europe (where I am) use FireFox and I would like to know how this issue can be fixed.

Starting in Firefox 23, if a secure page includes certain types of insecure content, Firefox blocks the insecure content and a shield icon will appear in the address bar. To temporarily allow the mixed content to be displayed:

You may want to do this only for the current session, then reset the preference back to "true" and check back with the site to see whether it's been fixed, since this is a global setting that exposes you on all sites, not just the one you care about.

Internet browsers freeze up

I've been switching between firefox and safari and with both browsers, they will just randomly freeze. I am still able to use other programs though. Any help? Thanks.

It does this with any website I view and it does it with all internet connections I use: whether I'm at home (DSL), school, (WiFi) or my friends houses (cable/DSL).

Current iTunes upgrade kills ALL internet connection to computer

I'm using iTunes on Windows XP SP3. Previous versions were not a problem. I upgraded to the current version (11.0.2) and lost all internet connectivity, not just to the iTunes store, but to ALL applications; my computer reported that NO internet connection was present at all. Doing a system restore resolved this, but the upgrade left some remnant that has rendered the previously working version of iTunes inoperable; when I execute it, it suggests I download the current version to correct the problem, but of course that kills my internet connection altogether and thus is not a solution.
Googling this has indicated fixes involving:
1) Deleting the iTunesPrefs.XML file
--> That didn't work.
2) A solution involving executing "netsh winsock reset" at the command prompt and then rebooting.
--> That didn't work either.
In fact, nothing I could find online worked. I am NOT using Norton, McAfee, or any other anti-virus or firewall that would be causing the conflict. Again, I'm using Windows XP SP3, and have a direct internet feed into my computer.
What can be done to fix this? Currently I cannot use iTunes at all on my computer because of the upgrade and the havoc it's caused (the System Restore did NOT restore the previous working version of iTunes; when I execute it, it claims a component is missing and I should download and install the current version...)
