Hi Cotton, I seen your post about having issues with losing sound to your videos. I would need some more information from you please, could you please respond with the following:
Is the sound lost for certain videos only, or all videos you try to watch?
Are you able to hear any sounds at all?
Are you able to hear your sound to videos through headphones?

  • Lost images/sound clips/video when changing langua...

i've never had this problem or any similar problems in the 4 months i've had this phone. today i changed the language from english to tagalog (pilipino), and when the phone restarted it had deleted all of my images (bar one), videos and sound clips (bar one). that's all i've noticed it has deleted so far, my messages and contacts are still there. i've never had problems with it prior to this happening... is there any way of recovering the data?

I've also got same problem. Interestingly enough, background music added to DVDs title page plays OK on the burned CD (everything previews perfectly). However, go to 'play' the burned DVD, and while the video is there, the audio tracks are silent. Source material is an iMove project, and audio tracks are all AIFF files.
Also tried physically burning the DVD with Disk Utility. DVD burns OK, but on playback (both on home stereo DVD player, and on Mac), title slide and background music works fine, but after selecting to play the movie, the audio tracks are all gone... only silence This is with burning directly from iDVD, or by saving the project as an img file, and then burning it to DVD via Disk Utility.
    Any clues appreciated!

  • TS3274 Lost all sound on iPad 2

I have lost all sounds on video and all apps.  Any suggestions?

Try this is you really have lost all sounds in all apps including the music app.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
If you still have sound in the music app system sounds are muted.
If you lose sounds for keyboard clicks, games or other apps, email notifications and other notifications, system sounds may have been muted.
System sounds can be muted and controlled two different ways. The screen lock rotation can be controlled in the same manner as well.
Settings>General>Use Side Switch to: Mute System sounds. If this option is selected, the switch on the side of the iPad above the volume rocker will mute system sounds.
If you choose Lock Screen Rotation, then the switch locks the screen. If the screen is locked, you will see a lock icon in the upper right corner next to the battery indicator gauge.
If you have the side switch set to lock screen rotation then the system sound control is in the task bar. Double tap the home button and in the task bar at the bottom, swipe all the way to the right. The speaker icon is all the way to the left. Tap on it and system sounds will return.
If you have the side switch set to mute system sounds, then the screen lock rotation can be accessed via the task bar in the same manner as described above.
This support article from Apple explains how the side switch works.

  • The volume on my iPad 3 has gone. I've checked the mute button, tried restarting, resetting etc and nothing has changed. I can't hear the music, hear any sound from videos. Most times the video stops playing after a seconds. My iPad 3 is only 2 months ol.

If you have lost all sound and video is freezing on you, that ain't good. Your iPad is two months old so I would not hesitate to contact Apple at all. You are entitled to 90 days of phone support.
    http://www.apple.com/support/ipad/contact/.
If you want to try a couple of things on your own, try quitting all apps and then reboot the iPad - not so much for the sound issue itself - but more as a general "start all over again" sort of approach. It might help with the video freezes.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar. Reboot the iPad.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
If you use headphones on occasion, you can try plugging and unplugging those as well and see if the sound comes back.
You could even try restoring the iPad to factory settings and then restore from a backup, but unless there is something totally hosed on the iPad, that should not be necessary with a two month old device - of course assuming that you didn't drop the iPad or do something accidental that could be causing the problems.

  • Since the recent upgrade lost my bookmarks and abIlity to hear sound on videos. How do I fix that NOW!

Since the recent upgrade I lost my bookmarks and ability to hear sound on videos. First I lost VIDEO then thought it was fixed only to find I had no SOUND when the video opened. How do I fix that NOW!
I have lost a week fiddling with reinstalling and suggested fixes to no avail. I have important bookmarks used in project research and study plans . Can I go back to my original last working version?
    NEED HELP ASAP
THIS IS A VERY DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE WITH WHAT I THOUGHT IS A GOOD BROWSER - NOT SO SURE ANYMORE!!!

    Hi movision,
Sorry you are having problems with lost bookmarks. I note you had problems last year [/questions/851481] and hopefully this time you will have been routinely making your own backups of bookmarks.
    * see [[Restore bookmarks from backup or move them to another computer]]
    So two steps
    # Immediately make a backup of your firefox profile <br/> (That ensures any auto bookmarks are preserved). IMPORTANT do this first, restoring bookmarks overwrites existing bookmarks. Put the restored files somewhere safe such as your Windows desktop.
    # Did you create any bookmark backups, if so the linked article above explains how to restore those bookmarks
You may also be interested in using Firefox sync, if you have a second device,as it allows you to sync bookmarks on the other device; and they are effectively then backed up.

  • Suddenly lost system and all video sound

    Hi all,
I am using a HP, Model a6250.uk, Quad core machine with Windows Vista Home premium as operating system. I suddenly lost all system sounds. Further investigation revealed that I can hear MP3s and sound from video games but I cannot hear sounds from youtube or any video website, I cannot hear audio from videos on my computer and there is no sound when trying to listen cds or watch dvds. Additionally, the front green audio port no longer recognises when my speakers are plugged in. I also tested my head phones and I cannot hear any audio what so ever. I have the RealTek HD Audio Manager installed and I used it to test my speakers and I could hear the test sound from the speakers. I checked all volume settings and they are set to max. I hope I described my problem as clearly as possible. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Regards,

    Hi Gangrene,
Try reinstalling your audio driver: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=pv-58189-1&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&...

  • I lost the sound. Sound inactive.

I wanted to play a video on my TV, so I connected all the necessary cables from my PowerBook G4 to it. I do this all the time and I've never encountered a problem. But this time, I lost the sound output from the computer. Whenever I press any of the sound keys, the icon shows up but there's a "no entry" symbol below it meaning I'm unable to adjust anything. Likewise, the sound icon in the menu bar disappeared leaving a strange gap in it.
Anyone know how to fix the problem? It seems rather random.

Choose a device for sound output > Nothing
There's nothing listed. No output devices found. Everything in that window -- including the submenus -- are greyed out. I can't make any changes.
One funny thing happened, though. I went to the Apple Store today and as soon as I got into OS X, the volume started working again, as if nothing had happened. I got home and the volume disappeared again! This makes no sense.

  • Lost all sound on my HP Pavilion dv6 notebook

I have a HP Pavillion dv6 notebook with a Widows 7 operating system and have lost all sound. Any suggestions as this is a 6 month old notebook?

I had the same issue last night after an automatic BIOS update.  I read about 7 pages of posts that seem to deal with the same issue and found a combination of actions that seem to have restored my audio functions completely.  I posted the solution and it resolved the issue for at least one other user who commented back.  It it works for you, please also post that it worked for you.  I suspect there are alot of users out there that have or will be experiencing the same issue.  It would be nice if HP would post the appropriate solution, it seems to have been going on for awhile.
    1. Through 'Device Manager / Sound, video and game controller' I uninstalled my audio driver (IDT High Definition CODEC) and also deleted the driver software for the device.
    2. Through 'Programs and Features' I uninstalled the IDT Audio Software (vers 1.0.6418.0) that was installed with the BIOS update.
    --> This forced a reboot.
--> When my system rebooted it automatically searched and found the appropriate audio driver -- now I've got audio and Media Center works fine...
    Hope this helps you.

  • TS1702 I lost all sound in my game apps why?

I lost all sound on all my game apps why?

    Hi,
    Try the following.
Download the IDT Audio installer on the link below and save it to your Downloads folder.
IDT Audio Installer - Windows 7.
When done, open windows Control Panel, open Device Manager and open up Sound, Video and Game Controllers.  Right click the IDT device and select Uninstall - you should also get a prompt to remove the current driver, tick the box to allow this and then proceed with the uninstall.
When complete, shut down the notebook, unplug the AC Adapter and then remove the battery.  Hold  down the Power button for 30 seconds.  Re-insert the battery and plug in the AC Adapter.
Tap away at the esc key as you start the notebook to launch the Start-up Menu and then select f10 to enter the bios menu.  Press f5 to load the defaults ( this is sometimes f9, but the menu at the bottom will show the correct key ), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter.  Press f10 to save the setting and again use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter.
Let Windows fully load - it will automatically load an audio driver, but just let this complete.  Then open your Downloads folder, right click on the IDT installer and select 'Run as Administrator' to start the installation.  When this has completed, right click the speaker icon in the Taskbar and select Playback Devices.  Left click 'Speakers and Headphones' once to highlight it and then click the Set Default button - check if you now have audio.

  • Lost all sound on Windows 8

i have lost all sound on W8. hvae checked plugins and they are all up to date. have never had good sound on this computer (Pacbell Easynote TE) anyway and am considering getting speakers. However i recently downloaded Windows Movie Maker as was having problems with videos taken on my phone that were taking long time to attach on e-mail (i have gmail), if they semed to big for normal 'attachment' . Have also started using their (gmail) Google drive to see if that would help speed things up, but didn't, so tried to load Cloud etc. I think that somewhere in all this the sound went, but it's a minefield (for me anyway) to try and work out. I have done the obvious and checked the Volume levels and they're all supposedly on and set at highest. Any help greatly appreciated. thanks

Wellthis is strange, i have now checked the videos i mentioned above and now have sound, be it all very low, but that has always been the case with this pacbell since i got it. Also checked some others on Facebook and they have sound too - why would that change overnight??

  • New update took away sound and video tops after 11 sec

Today 4.8.2012 i installed new update and after that i lost all sound on flash and youtube and other flash videos frozes after 11 sec.
    Yesterday everything work perfectly.
    My version is 11,3,31,222
    I have windows 7(32bit)
    and i am using chrome.
    Any ideas?

just make sure you get the latest version of flash. There's two flash installers one for Internet Explorer (or activex) and One for Other Browsers(Firefox, Safari, Opera, etc.) (latest version:11.3.300.268 for both). Chrome doesn't normally allow you by default to install the flash player separately because the flash player plugin is built-in for Chrome (latest version is 11.3.300.265 for Chrome), and go under tools menu on Chrome  of course to see if your chrome browser is up to date to get the latest Chrome flash player plug-in. If getting flash plugin for Chrome 11.3.300.265 doesn't fix the chrome problem. you can actually disable the chrome flash player plugin, and Chrome automatically uses the Flash for Other Browsers plugin.
You can select manually plugin installers for Internet Explorer And Other Browsers here:
    http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/
Here's also more info about flash plugin on chrome:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/flash-player-google-chrome.html
On Firefox, was the Flash video playback really choppy/laggy or were you referring to the audio playback being choppy/laggy?
Also, what type of motherboard model or what's the model of the PC are you using so I can look at the specs?

  • TS3274 my ipad 2 suddenly lost the sound.  all else works.

my ipad 2 suddenly lost the sound.  all else works.

Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Check your settings. The iPads have a small switch on the right edge. It can be used as a rotation lock to keep the screen from automatically reorienting itself as you move around, but you need to have the tablet’s settings configured properly. That same switch, right above the volume buttons, can also be set to function instead as a mute button to silence certain types of audio.
If the switch is set to work as a mute button, you can change its purpose to “screen-rotation lock” by tapping the Settings icon on the home screen. On the Settings screen, tap General on the left side, and on the right side of the screen flick down to “Use Side Switch to.” Tap to select Lock Rotation or Mute to set the button’s function. Even if you set the side switch for your preferred use, you can still mute the Mini or lock the screen. Just double-click the Home button, and when the panel of apps appears along the bottom edge of the screen, flick the row from left to right with your finger. Tap the icon on the far left side of the row to either lock the iPad’s screen or mute the iPad’s alerts, notifications and sound effects. Music, podcasts and video are not muted unless you turn the volume all the way down.
