Lost my sub on a SBS 2.1 350

Title pretty much says it all. I have an Abit KV8 pro motherboard. My sub was working for about 2-3 days, and it has since stopped working all together. It's very frustrating. Any advice would be a huge help.
It does produce MINOR output when I unplug the 2 main speakers, plug in just the sub and CRANK the volume; however, it is barely noticable even at full volume.

EDIT: I read some other suggestions in ohter threads. I plugged in my sub into the output jack from my stereo, and it worked perfectly. This seems to be motherboard/computer based, but any advice would still be greatly needed. I think it may be an issue with front audio mounts on my case (a tsunami GE-46), but I'm not sure.

Since testing the speaker on another source works fine, the speaker system should be in working condition. Perhaps you can try the speaker on another computer and see if you still get the same result.

Installed PSE12. Loaded PSE10 catalog into organiser but have lost categories & sub categories

The photos appear to have retained their keyword tag info but all the sorting into sub-categories and categories has gone as have all the album and smart album data.
What have I done wrong? After all - no self respecting huge software company removes user data and functionality - they must just have omitted to mention what I needed to do in their (less than impressive) help files.
Any advice gratefully received.

Loaded is good for me (the terminology is not really fixed and clear...) but you have two ways to 'load' your picture files into your catalog:
1 - As you described by using the 'convert' catalog option. The Organizer reads the data in the old catalog and writes it in a new catalog in the new format. The result is that the new PSE12 catalog stores the same data and is renamed to the old catalog name. The old PSE10 catalog is renamed with a -1 suffix, but is still usable in PSE10.

Lost booknamrks sub folders including the bookmarks after restoring from a backup file, how can i retore my bookmarks?

I was organizing my bookmarks, by mistake I deleted a folder, after that I restored from a back up file (from the library window), instead of getting my bookmarks restored, I've lost all the sub folders including the bookmarks within!!! Now i only have the bookmarks in the unsorted bookmarks folder. What went wrong here and how can i get my bookmarks back?

For the next time that this happens:
If you have accidentally removed bookmarks then use "Organize > Undo" in the bookmarks manager (Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks) to get them back. 
The Organize button is the first of the three buttons on the toolbar in the Library (Bookmarks Manager). 
That only works if you haven't closed Firefox. 
If it didn't work then you can restore the bookmarks from a JSON backup. 
This will replace all current bookmarks and you lose bookmarks that were added since that backup was created.

In that case you need to export the current bookmarks to an HTML file before doing the restore and import that HTML file after you have restored the JSON backup. 
You can remove duplicates with the CheckPlaces extension or you can copy the existing bookmarks to the clipboard before restoring the JSON backup and Paste them back afterward.

Lost Mail sub-folders recovery help

A mysterious transparent folder was listed in my mail folders list. Nothing in it, just a number of folders within folders. I can't say exactly what they were named as I deleted it, and that's what caused the problem... The top folder was just called "/" the sub-folders my username; and POPsomething; junk(?) etc.
Below my inbox were numerous folders that I have created to file all my mail. Upon deleting the transparant folder ALL these sub folders and their contents have disappeared. Arrrgh!
Now I do have weekly back-up of my home>library>mail folder. If I simply replace the folder with my backed up version I presume I'll lose the mails that I've received and filed in the last few days. I also presume that if I import my inBox from the folder it won't restore all my folders and their contents...
Any ideas of the best way of dealing with this problem?

If you use import - the mailboxes that you choose to import will appear in Mail inside a folder named 'Imported'. You can then move the messages to appropriate mailboxes/folders.... & indeed move the imported folders to the main list, where they were before the problem started.
Thus you can keep your received/sent mail from the last few days and access the ones you backed up. For your main inbox & sent folders - I'd move the messages from the import to their correct location.
Given what's happened - before doing this you should back-up the current mail folder and ; in case things go wrong. Then if the worst happens you'll still have everything you need to get Mail working properly without loss of data. Perhaps make more frequent backups for a few days until you're certain the dust has settled.

I wanted to set up Thunderbird email client as I might be leaving BT but after setting it up OK I found that on returning to BTMail the dropdown arrow option get to my sub-acc's. had disappeared, after the initial panic I logged off BT and re-started and it re-appeared. Hopefully BT will give me a good reason to stay but at lest I've protected my important stuff.

Hi, I have an Audigy 2 NX (SB0300) and have recently 'lost' the sub/ center speaker switch (I think it was a tick box in the software somewhere!)
It was after a fresh install. I am running with the latest Drivers/ ap

Unable to install Adobe Reader 8.1.2 Help!!!

Help Please I had Adobe Reader 8 on my Laptop Os WinsXP but it was corrupt so I unstalled it and I`m trying ( Approx 8 tries ) to install Adobe Reader 8.1.2 but all I get when it`s trying to Install is a dialog box that pops up saying
Internal Error 2753. Updater api_NON_OPT and then says Adobe Reader 8.1.2 setup Failed.
Any suggestions?

I can help if you gor error 1402 about not having permission to update reg sub-key MSFS under:
HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Run/OptionalComponents
Logged into my own account, I could see no sub-keys under Run even though I have Administrator rights. I logged in under the Administrator Account (the one under which Adobe was originally installed). Now I could see all sub-keys.
I installed Adobe Reader 8.1.2 successfully.
I rebooted and logged back in under my own account and can now see all sub-keys.
I suspect 2 things. Either my registry was corrupt and I lost the sub-keys (dont think so) or an update from say Adobe Reader 8.1.1 to 8.1.2 can initially only be done under the account that did the original install (I hope this is not the case). Good luck.

10.4 Reproducible Mail bug

After I imported my mail from 10.3, all my mailboxes were placed inside a folder called "Import". There is a bug that causes all mail messages to be lost in sub-mailboxes if I move any mailbox out of the "Import" mailbox.
Specifically: If I have a mailbox "Phil" inside "Import/People", then move the "People" mailbox to the top level, the content of all mails in the "Phil" mailbox is replaced with:
"The message [...] has not been downloaded from the server. You need to take this account online in order to download it."
Further, if I rebuild this mailbox, the mails disappear entirely. However, if I (without rebuilding the mailbox), move the "People" mailbox back to its original location, then all the "Phil" mails re-appear.
I find that it is OK to move any mailbox which doesn't have sub-mailboxes (ie. moving "Phil" to the top level works fine), but the errors occurs reproducibly when I try to move any mailbox that contains other mailboxes.
The work-around (for me) was to create a new mailbox structure then move all bottom-level mailboxes into this structure.
Is this a known bug in Mail Version 2.1 (752/752.2)? I did a quick search on here and didn't find a mention of it. But I'm sure I can't be the only one who has experienced this bug.

Another update:
The missing mail was still indexed by the search engine, although all emails were replaced with the "has not been downloaded" message.
So I went searching in the ~/Library/Mail folder to see where the mail could have gone. It was all still there, but had been moved to a folder called "Local-(null)@(null)". Very odd. I moved all the contained mailboxes back to the "Mailboxes" folder and now I can see them again!
And the search engine can now find the mails too.
Does anyone know why the mailboxes got moved to "Local-(null)@(null)"? I'll let you know if it happens again.

A Dell Technician told me my Firefox 3.6.17 was corrupted and uninstalled it and Installed 4.0. Now I lost all my sub-folder Bookmarks and some Folder Bookmarks. How to I retreive them?

I had about 100 Bookmark Folders and 500 to 600 Bookmark sub-folders inside the Bookmark Folders on Firefox 3.6.17. When I signed off my Windows XP system on Thursday the Firefox home Page was fine. When I logged on to the Firefox Homepage the next day the page changed and I was unable to change it back, the "add Apps" had no effect and I could not customize the page. My home page is google com ig dell using Mozilla Firefox as my Browser so I called Dell to get help. The Dell technician played with it for about 1 1/2 hours and then decided Firefox was corrupted and he would have to load a new copy. He uninstalled the old 3.6.17 and installed 4.0. I specifically told him I had lots of Bookmarks and could not lose them. He assured me it would be No Problem. When I checked after he finished, I had lost all my bookmarks. The Dell Technician could not retrieve the Bookmarks and had to go to a Dell Datasafe Backup that I did. He could only retrieve a small portion of my Bookmarks. It will take me weeks to build these Bookmarks again. I can't believe these are all gone from my hard drive. Is there anything I can do to retrieve them and how can I prevent this in the future.

I am now back and enjoying FF 3.6.17 (my original) yet I am still
without my book marks and am floundering trying to recoup.
Any help appreciated. If unable to see my book marks in the near
future I will definitely jump ship. It's too bad that FF people have
created this problem. I am mystified and disgusted with their actions.

Hi,
I think you should negotiate with the vendor who covers the loss - if your vendor pays they can issue a credit memo.
As for stock adjustment you should consider:
- MB1A / MIGO + 551O
- physical inventory
- take components back to your site by MB1B + 542 and scrap it (MB1A + 551) or adjust stock level via physical inventory project

For speakers you don't normally have to install any files, the speakers just connect to your soundcard. Make sure the soundcard or onboard audio is installed correctly, as that will be feeding the audio to your speakers, if the soundcard doesn't work correctly then the speakers won't be able to do much.

Lost sub-category in Elements 10 organisor

I appear to have deleted a sub-category (friends) in the organiser. I have tried the undo but it doesnt bring the category back. Is there a history of what I have done in Organiser so that I can go back to the delete command. I do have a back-up of 3 days ago but if I run that will it delete the category on that as well.

Simply re-create the sub-category by clicking on the plus sign next to keywords. Then group your chosen keywords under the sub-category.

IPhone users lost contact with sbs 2011 Exchange mail after upgrade to iOS 8

When all our users upgraded from iOS 7 to iOS 8 on their iPhones, they couldn't sync with our SBS 2011 Standard Exchange server anymore. Worked fine before upgrade.
SBS 2011 has done all its Windows Updates.
vpn-connection connects and works fine, but Exchange 2010 won't answer.

Would you please let me confirm whether it was Exchange Server SP3 on the SBS 2011? Did you install necessary
Update Rollups for the Exchange Server?
In addition, please open Event Viewer and check if relevant events were logged in Application log on the Exchange
Server 2010.
Please also check if error message was logged in the Exchange ActiveSync log.
If any update, please feel free to let me know.
