Lost my talk to text

i recently traveled to mexico and while there i started having some issues with my iphone 4s. first off, i really couldn't make or receive calls, sometimes i could text and sometimes i could pick up the wifi.
but while there i was getting "no caller id" phone calls. when i would answer i only heard air. that was at all times of the day and night. when i returned back home (chicago) i started getting those calls in the middle of the night, 3-3:30am. samething, air.
at&t told me that they could not block no caller id calls but recommended that i do a reset on my phone, not a factory restore but a reset, or they also offered me a one time no charge new phone number.
i decided to do the reset. calls have stopped but i've lost some of my apps that i've downloaded myself, some that i paid for and some that came with the phone.
the one i am most concerned with is the talk to text. can someone tell me if that came with my iphone 4s? i don't remember ever paying for it, why would i if i have siri. but i really miss it and if it came with the phone i want it back.
i'm do for an upgrade but until i get it i want my talk to text back. i miss my little microphone.

Which microphone are you referring to? Are you referring to the one on the Google Search bar or the one on the keyboard or the one in S Voice? If on the keyboard, which keyboard are you using?

I think my iPod touch is a 3rd generation. It is a 4.2.1 Version, 8 GB.
My 89 year old mother has totally lost her hearing. I would like to experiment with my ipod touch to see if an ipod is what she could use in her assisted living arrangement.
My ipod does not have an internal microphone as far as I can tell.
I see on the internet that I can purchase an external microphone.
I do not want a headset microphone just an external microphone where someone could speak into when the dragon app is on and it will transfer talk to text for her to read.
Can someone help me: a) do you think this will work.
b) what do I have to do to make it work.

Talk to text in 7.1 has problems

It seems in the upgrade to 7.1, "talk to text" lost it's ability to indentify a whole lot of words,
and has a problem with punctuation. Any one else have this issue?

As now client have WSDL they just need URL.. you can provide them appropriate URL and by using that whenever client will execute this will hit the request in PI system and your interface will get triggered.. and you can check that in SXMB_MONI.

I have to say that I'm disappointed in Verizon for not recognizing the people that do not talk and text a lot but do use their phone for data. I pay a lot of money to Verizon mostly for services I don't use all that much. I would like to see a plan that takes us other folks into consideration and have an unlimited data plan with some type of limited talk/text. I hate texting although I do a small amount of it and I don't talk much on the phone because I talk all day long for my job and become a hermit after work. I've been a loyal customer and would like some type of recognition of being in the minority group that is the opposite of most folks. If Verizon would look at my usage, they'd see exactly what I'm talking about.

I do understand why you might be upset that there is no unlimited data anymore, and I know that you are probably wondering why it is no longer offered, and I would be more than happy to explain it to you. As you know, things are not like they used to be and our world is very fast paced. With Technology increasing everyday, the standard of that technology is also increasing. With the standard of the things that use data increasing, that amount of data that those things use are also increasing. As you know, we live in a Technological World, and the amount of people that are using data grows tremendously each and every day. When you combine these things, the network can become congested. If you have ever driven in heavy traffic, you know that you get nowhere fast. Well the Cellular pathways are the same as rush hour traffic, combined with school letting out. In that situation, you wont go but a few inches an hour, and if everyone was able to get Unlimited Data, that is what would happen to cellular speeds. Other companies offer it because they do not have NEAR the amount of peoplet that Verizon has on their network, nor the speeds.

Well all I can suggest is that you turn Siri off then restart the phone ( Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the home button together until the apple logo appears (ignore the ON/OFF slider) then let both buttons go and wait for phone to restart.) After this go back and turn Siri back on and see if it works

Yes, it is part of EE not SE. Or you can get it/them from your application server's lib dir (which may or may not be a better choice).

I figured out how to fix the microphone with texting!! I powered off my iphone. I don't know what caused the microphone to stop working, but it works now! Thanks for trying to help.

Help, lost all photos and texts while syncing new iphone

While syncing my husbands new iphone 3 on itunes I gained all the music but lost all photos and texts... also all the apps and contacts from my iphone were added to his phone. how do you put talk-to-text on a commando?

If I'm understanding you rightly, you want to be able to talk into the phone and have text appear, e.g., in text messages or e-mails. As Ann154 said, this should be a feature of the stock Android keyboard. I haven't used a Commando, so I don't know the exact sequence, but on my Stratosphere I can do this: start at the Home screen, then Menu > Settings > Language & keyboard. There are several keyboards listed, such as Swype, Android, and Samsung. On the Android keyboard settings, there is a choice for Voice input, and the 3 options for it are Mic on main keyboard, Mic on symbols keyboard, and Mic off. That means that a little microphone icon shows up on the selected state of the keyboard (main or symbols). Tap that icon and you can talk and have it converted to text.
Similar settings are available on other keyboards, including downloadable keyboards from the Google Play Store (I use a Go keyboard myself), but apparently not on the Swype keyboard.
The last step may be to choose your input method. In any text-entry box (text message, e-mail, etc.), long-press the box (tap and hold) and a menu will pop up that includes Input method. Tap input method and choose one of the available keyboards. If that keyboard has a voice option, the mic icon will be present (on the symbols keyboard if you chose that). Whichever keyboard you choose will then (I think) remain the default in all text-entry areas; but of course you can do this again to change it.
I'll have to admit that I've underutilized this feature (I type well and have a physical keyboard on my phone), but it really is cool when you have it working.
