LOST MY TOUCH W/PERSONAL INFO ON IT!! Help!!!

I cannot find my touch for the life of me. Other than photos, I had some personal stuff on there in the "notes" and my email was automatically generated to download. Is there anything I can do to stop this??
Thanks for any help, I'm in a total panic!!

sorry, but other than filing a police report, there is nothing you can do.

If you had an active MobileMe account before it was lost, and the Find my iPod touch/iPhone feature was activated, and Location Services was on, and the iPod was connected to a WiFi network, and that WiFi network is in Skyhooks WifI location database, you might've been able to determine its very rough location (accurate to within 30m to 100m), and send the iPod a remote wipe command. >
Without those things, there's nothing you can do.
sorry for your loss ...

Possibly.  If you don't have it password-protected, then there's nothing stopping them from getting anything on the phone.

  • I lost all my bank account info and personal login details kept on my Notes (app)

This happened when I have updated my iPhone 5C to iOS 8.0. What do I do? Apps are also crashing and other tracks on Music kept on appearing on other Artist on Artists Tab
    Pls help, Apple!

Did you take a backup before you updated to iOS 8? Did you use iTunes on a computer or iCloud backup?
I'd attempt to reinstall iOS 8 (if you think it is not working correctly) then restore the backup to see if the notes appear.
P.S. Keeping your bank account details & personal info in the Notes app is a TERRIBLE idea. It is not designed for that. Use an application that is designed to keep the data secure like 1Password or LastPass (there are many others in the app store). They will encrypt the data on the device and on any device you sync to, they also should secure the data that is sent between the devices across network connections.
Apple says it does not encrypt Notes on the server, it only encrypts it in transit to and from iCloud.

That means your bank detail notes are sitting on a server somewhere in a form that could be read by anyone who compromises Apple's servers - this may never happen, but if it does you only have yourself to blame.

  • How can I locate the owner of a lost Ipod Touch 4g?

A friend found a lost Ipod Touch 4th generation and gave it to me because he's given up trying to locate the owner. Now I am trying to find its owner (last ditch effort).
I've never seen this message before, but when I got it, there is a screen saying disabled, connect to iPod. I assume that either it was remotely locked? Or perhaps my friend tried to guess passwords unsuccessfully too many times?
I took it to the Apple Store in San Francisco and the sales rep that was helping me didn't know how to do it.
I ran three ads in craigslist in different sections - no response.
My bf used to work for Apple, and is absolutely uninterested or too busy to help me out (nice guy, eh?).
I don't want to restore the phone and wipe the data, since it may destroy any possible clue as to how to locate the owner beyond the first name and photo that appears when you turn it on. (I tried to see if I could get it connected to iTunes and figure something out, but the phone is disabled)
Anybody know what I can do? Serial numbers?
note: In case you are wondering why I am so adamant on finding the owner, I have lost 2 ipods in the past (found one), but the other is gone forever (despite all my "please return to (my contact info)" message I had in place of the passcode screen. I will go pretty far to return this to the owner, because beyond principle, I was sad when mine was never returned to me.

I took it to the Apple Store in San Francisco
Take it to the nearest SFPD station.
And bravo to you for making such an effort to find the owner. They may have reported it lost or stolen to the SFPD.

  • I found iphone ... it works, there is no personal info ...

Story is long ... friend gave me iphone 4, and he got it from other friend who says he have bought it for 30 EUR from guy who says it was found in airport ...
It looks iphone have been updated and hactivated or jailbroken or how its called .. i dunno! but there is no simcard and no personal info about the owner.
I have a friend who understand something about phones and he found out some information about phone.
Phone have been bought in UK at 2010-06-29, so more then 4 years back. And i live in Latvia ... phone have traveled a lot km .....
I went to police ... they searched and they dont have any inquiries about such phone ... if they take it they gonna just pull it in storage and they have no interest to search owners ... they suggested me to find owner my self or do what ever i want.
So friend also found out owners carrier ... i contacted them ... spend hours chat with them and they told me they can not give me contact info of owner and can not pass my contact info to him/her ... i can go to local police ... i told them i did it already ... and they told me ... there is nothing we can do ... cmon!
So the last thing is contact Apple ... but as far as I read ... Apple says bring phone to police ... ***!
So i can not find owner. I can not use phone .... i can bring it to police where it wont find owner anyways!
Phone is operating and functioning ok ... it have bit broken back cover ....
So if none can help it get to owner last option is to leave it as toy for kids or throw away? pffffffff

it is reported as lost ... carrier told me it ..... and they confirmed that UK wont search it outside UK and also my country police wont search world wide where it have been lost and is it at all lost ....
I'm not surprised. Regardless, there's nothing we can do for you. This is a user to user forum of volunteers who don't work for Apple.

  • HELP LOST IPOD TOUCH WHAT DO I DO???? :'(

:'( lost Ipod touch at school and now how do I track it down? DO I call The Company? I am using Icloud and still no results PLEASE someone help what can I do????

Change your iTunes (Apple ID) password along with any other password that was stored in the iPod.  If any passwords are associated with credit cards, contact the CC company and get your card replaced (with a new number).  If any passwords are associated with a bank or any other savings institution, contact them also and discuss approprate action with them.
The "Find my..." function is pretty much useless if the device is in the hands of a thief.  All that is necessary is for the thief to connect to any computer with iTunes and "Restore as new."
The only real protection you have is with the personal information on the device rather than the physical device itself.  This requires action before the device is lost/stolen.  If the device has significant personal information, it should have a strong 8-digit (or longer) password AND be configured for automatic wipe in the event of ten consecutive incorrect password entries.

  • How to delete personal info when selling my ipod

    Hello everyone,
I own an ipod touch 4g and think about selling it becase I've purchased an Iphone 4.
What should I do in order to delete personal info from my ipod? I did "delete all content" in ipod's general menu. Will it delete all my purchased apps and any account information for sure?
Is the Ipod registered on my name and personal info (I mean, will anyone be able to find out my personal contact info I gave to Apple when first connecting the ipod to itunes?)?
I'm kinda worried since I might end up selling it to a person I don't know and don't want anyone to get any of my personal information ...
Thanks in advance, and I hope I posted it on the right forum.
    Have a great day!

It should only take seconds since:
This resets all settings, and erases all your information and media by removing the
encryption key to the data (which is encrypted using 256-bit AES encryption).
I would first try resetting the iPod:
Reset iPod touch:  Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
Next would be to place thei Pod in recovery mode and retore the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod. For recovery mode see:
iPhone and iPod touch: Unable to update or restore

Is it possible for me to delete all my information in my lost ipod touch? It is in IOS 6.1.1

    Only if
    - If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
    - You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have to iPod play a sound via iCloud.

  • How do I find my lost ipod touch

I had my ipod before I got on the bus this morning, it was in my pocket. I sat down on the bus, and I didn't take it out of my pocket, there was someone sitting next to me, but she couldn't have taken it out of my pocket because of the way she was sitting. It's not in my backpack, and my bus driver said she looked everywhere on the bus while cleaning it-like she always does. It could have fallen out anywhere on the bus and someone could have taken it. I'm really worried because I had just gotten it and I'm using icloud to track it, but it says its offline. I don't know how it would even connect to wifi because I have a pass code on it. please help.

Until it goes online you cannot track it.
What To Do If Your iDevice or Computer Is Lost Or Stolen
    iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad
If you activated Find My Phone before it was lost or stolen, you can track it only if Wi-Fi is enabled on the device. What you cannot do is track your device using a serial number or other identifying number. You cannot expect Apple or anyone else to find your device for you. You cannot recover your loss unless you insure your device for such loss. It is not covered by your warranty.

  • HT1766 I lost all of my calendar info.

I lost all of my calendar info like appointments for myself and four kids. I want to go to a previous backup to try to recover these appts. All I see is how to backup from the last one. Can I go back 2 or 3 backups?
I lost it somewhere in the process of flying to and from Savannah. I have tried to reset my iPhone and also restore it but as I said I can only restore from last backup which does not have my appointments.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Sort of if you can get hold of the iPod before it is erased, turn wifi off, then backup the iPod, turn wifi on and let it erase. Then restore from backup.

  • Is it possible to find the location on a lost ipod touch from my macbook?

Is it possible to locate a lost ipod touch from my Macbook?

Not unless you installed and activated fiond my iod on the ipod BEFORE it was lost AND it is on AND it is connected to wi-fi, THEN you may be able to get an approximate street address.
If it has facetime, then you could call it and listen for the ring.

  • Have an Apple TV device I have gone thru setup with and used.  Want to sell it now but concerned that it may store personal info that would be at risk if I sold it.  Should I be concerned?  Can I wipe it clean?

I have an Apple TV device that I attached to my tv, went through the setup, and used for a couple of weeks.  I would like to sell the vice now, but I am concerned that it may in some way store personal info on it like the credit card no. that I would use for paying for movie rentals, etc.  Does this device store any personal info on it that would be at risk if I sold it to another person?  If so, is there some way I can wipe that info off of it?
The Macbook Pro and Apple TV were both bought from the Apple website in December so I assume they are the most recent models and operating system.
    Would appreciate any help.  Thanks.

Settings > General > Reset > Restore, will wipe everything in preperation for resale.

  • Selling MBP - how do I remove all personal info but leave apps?

    Sorry for the newbie question.
I just bought a new MBP and sold my old one. I want to leave the installed apps on my old MBP (running 10.5.7) but make sure that all of my personal info, data, etc. is gone.
I'm not familiar enough with accounts on a Mac (I've never gone through the process of deleting one) but will the following accomplish what I want to do?:
    1) Create a new user account for the new owner. Make that account an Administrator.
    2) Reboot and log in as the new user.
    3) Delete my current/old user account.
    4) Start Disk Utility and use the "Erase Free Space" function.
So I guess my biggest question is in #3 above. When I delete my current/old user account, what does it wipe out and what does it leave behind?
I know my other option is to wipe the whole thing out and install from the OS X CD's that came with the MBP and then re-instal all the software but I'd rather not have to go to that extreme if possible.

The very best way to do this is to do a complete Erase and Install with the original system disc. You can do any additional erasing before that.
What about the apps? Provide the seller with the original discs of those too, and let them reinstall them. Note that with some companies you will want to fill out a Transfer of License so that legal ownership and rights to future upgrade discounts are transferred to the new owner and don't remain with you, because that would screw the new owner if they tried to get an upgrade and they couldn't because it was still registered to you.
I would not sell a machine that hasn't been completely wiped. I want all traces of me off that thing. And that includes any confusion as to the legal ownership of the apps you are selling with the machine.
