If you are saying that you lost support for your video camera under Lion then I would say it's very unlikey the maker of the video camera will support it under Mountain Lion.
If you are talking about the built in camera, then thats different !?

Intermittant problems recognizing my Sony video camera when capturing
When filming live, I have an intermittant problem with PPro 6 recognizing my Sony video camera when capturing. I hit the G (for start recording) and something it goes live and sometime the capture window goes to digital mess. I am using the "no" device control preference setting as I was told to by the Sony customer care tech.

HELP!! i have a ton of videos of my boys stored in iPhoto..They played fine on my old OSX system (leopard). However, I just upgraded to snow leopard and then to mountain lion and now i can't open my videos at all anymore. HELP!!
Can you tell us about one or more of the video files - what are they? QuickTime? MP4? Something else? How did you create the video files in the first place?
I do a lot of video and when I upgraded to Snow Leopard I discovered that many of the QT videos that I had created previously (via iMovie & Final Cut) would not play correctly in QuickTime X - the bizarre behavior was that QT X acted as if my video files were only audio files! I reported this to Apple at the time but never heard anything back, and there hasn't been any change in later updates to QT X.
The solution was to (re)install QuickTime 7. But first look in your Applications > Utilities folder. When you upgrade from Leopard to Snow Leopard, the installer normally moves the old QT 7 program to your Utilities folder. If it's there, try using QT 7 to play one of your video files. If QT 7 is not there, you can download and install it from here Make sure you are running at least OS X 10.6.3 before you install QT 7. It's even better if you make sure you are running 10.6.8 which was the last release of Snow Leopard. -
Ive just upgraded my late 2009 macbook, and things are not working properly. First of all, when I started the computer first time after installing Mountain Lion, some message advised me that some files were impossible to install. Once I wrote my password, and for now on, everytime I start the session, another window advise me that "Java SE 6" is missing, due that, the computer can't run some "CS5Service Manager". If I try to install it, the download ends with an error. If finally, you skip the istallation, you arrive to the dock, but the menu bar at the top of the screen doesn't show up.
In addition, my trackpad doesn't works either. I can move the arrow but i can't click anywhere, probably because the option of clicking by touching is disabeled and I can't performance a regular click.
I'll be very glad if someone know what the heck is happening with my computer. Anyway, I'm going to the genius bar next Saturday. Thx!We're sorry.

Before upgrading my system from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion I had taken a backup of iPhoto library in my external drive. But now when I try to open that package, I'm directed to app store to buy new iPhoto. Why would apple install iPhoto by default with Snow Leapord and make us import all our photos in it at the first place, and now ask for money if we want to retrieve our photos back on mountain lion? What if they make contacts a paid app with the next OS upgrade, and then bully us to pay money if we want our contacts? This is something very dissappointing on Apple's part. I need answers here.
I fail to remember if the installer gave me an option to keep my applications.
The Mountain Lion installer will not delete applications. It will only mark applications, that are not compatible with your current system with a "forbidden" sign in the icon. And you cannot launch them.
Does your iPhoto icon in the Applications folder look like this?
Then your iPhoto version is incompatible and cannot run with Mt. Lion. If it is iPhoto '11, with a versionnumber starting with 9.x.x., you can upgrade it by downloading a newer version from the Apple downloads site http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1650.
But if you have 8.x.x, you need to buy an upgrade.

Problem activating Facetime on iMac: I recently upgraded my iMac from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion.
Since the upgrade, when I try to sign on with my valid Apple ID & password I get this message "The server encountered an error processing registration. Please try again later."

Upgrading from OSX 10.6.8 to Mountain lion...
I've never upgraded before since I got my Mac in 2010... A little nervous. I'm going to be using an external hard drive to back up almost 200GB worth of stuff. I'm not going to lose my applications, correct? I will probably have to call customer service while doing this considering I've never done it before.. I have the whole adobe CS5 suite and it'd be a really bad day if I lost all that.
Just curious how everyone else's upgrade went.Now, just to confuse things for you even more.
It's possible to make your own bootable USB flash drive Mountain Lion installer. See the following. It looks worse than it is. At the end you will see reference to a piece of software that will do everything I outline except download the Mountain Lion installer.
Make Your Own Mountain/Lion Installer
1. After downloading Mountain/Lion you must first save the Install Mac OS X Mountain/
Lion application. After Mountain/Lion downloads DO NOT click on the Install button.
Go to your Applications folder and make a copy of the Mountain/Lion installer. Move
the copy into your Downloads folder. Now you can click on the Install button. You
must do this because the installer deletes itself automatically when it finishes
installing.
2. Get a USB flash drive that is at least 8 GBs. Prep this flash drive as follows:
a. Open Disk Utility in your Utilities folder.
b. After DU loads select your flash drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left
side list. Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
c. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one.
Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, set the
partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Click on the Partition button and wait until
the process has completed.
d. Select the volume you just created (this is the sub-entry under the drive entry) from the left side
list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
e. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, check the
button for Zero Data and click on OK to return to the Erase window.
f. Click on the Erase button. The format process can take up to an hour depending upon the flash
drive size.
3. Locate the saved Mountain/Lion installer in your Downloads folder. CTRL- or RIGHT-click on the installer and select Show Package Contents from the contextual menu. Double-click on the Contents folder to open it. Double-click on the SharedSupport folder. In this folder you will see a disc image named InstallESD.dmg.
4. Plug in your freshly prepared USB flash drive. You are going to clone the content of the InstallESD.dmg disc image to the flash drive as follows:
a. Double-click on the InstallESD.dmg file to mount it on your Desktop.
b. Open Disk Utility.
c. Select the USB flash drive from the left side list.
d. Click on the Restore tab in the DU main window.
e. Select the USB flash drive volume from the left side list and drag it to the Destination entry field.
f. Drag the mounted disc icon from the Desktop into the Source entry field.
g. Double-check you got it right, then click on the Restore button.
When the clone is completed you have a fully bootable installer that you can use without having to re-download Mountain/Lion.
Note: The term Mountain/Lion used above means Lion or Mountain Lion.
As an alternative to the above (you still have to do your own download of Lion/Mountain Lion) you can try using Lion DiskMaker 2.0 that automates the process of Steps 2 through 4. -

I can see the server, I can choose the drive, but when try to open a folder the message on Finder is: You don't have permissions to see the content.
I already delete the key and try to connect again, but the problem persist. Already try change the ip from file server. Already try differents users. (admin, guest, etc...)
I have a windows server 2008 and a NAS working with SMB protocol. Both with the same problem.
That problem occurs only on Finder, if I try see the folder by Terminal, is possible to see my files.

Any Question ?Not knowing how much RAM is installed in your iMac, your iMac can take a total of 8 GBs of RAM.
Before upgrading to Mountain Lion, I would strongly suggest installing the maximum 8 GBs of RAM.

You can purchase and download OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion from the Mac App Store in the OS X dock.
Before installing, it would be prudent to make a backup copy of all of your important data or your entire current system. Either using, optical discs, USB flash drives or external hard drives.
This is too insure protection of your data in case something goes wrong with the install of OS X Mountain Lion.

<Email Edited by Host>If you are a developer, or have a similar personality, there is an aftermarket EFI-64 "work-alike" program you can load into memory instead of 64-bit firmware. It is too complicated for regular folks.
You must already have upgraded your Memory and your graphics card to use this solution, and your Mac will not operate quite normally. Any problems with it are unsupported. -

While editing a file with multiple frames, Adobe Fireworks CS6 quit unexpectedly.
My work was not saved by the 'recovered file' feature and I had been so immersed in editing the animation I was creating that I had probably not saved my work for the last 20 minutes or so. My arm is going to fall off from doing stuff over and over again ...not really, but it does waste my time.
Any word on when there will be an update for CS6 for Mountain Lion?

The Reset feature adds a folder on your desktop named Old Firefox Data. I recommend hanging onto that for a few weeks in case you discover something essential that the Reset feature left behind.
