Lost my youtube app when i upgrade to iOS 6. how to retrieve my favourites list?

Hello, unlike most people, I am not happy to upgrade to iOS 6 - for the simplest reason that I have lost my youtube app in my (actually my father's) iPad 2 when I did so.
I know I was supposed to be more aware when I tinkered with the update manuals and REMEMBER that youtube app isn't supported anymore, but I forgot.
Now all I need to know is: is it possible for me to retrieve whatever videos I saved in my favourites list in that app? I'm thinking of downgrading it back to iOS 5. The chance is slim, but if there are some great "manipulators" out there within the Apple fans, I would really appreciate that - for the reason that those videos were: a) saved since 3 months ago (and there are loads), and; b) half of them belongs to my sister. And I do NOT want to face her with this unfixed.
Help out there???

I upgraded my software and lost some apps.

I tried this and it did not work for. When I go to the APP Store it think the apps are on my devide so I cannot download them again unfortunately I cannot find teh apps on my devide even if I search for them.
ALso if I re-sync with itunes the apps reinstall but immediately disappear after the install completes.
Neat trick but incredibly annoying.
Any know my next option.

restore from backup. and use IMAP instead of POP if you can.

You are logged into the same account that you bought it with in Settings > iCloud, and it doesn't show as being available in Settings > iCloud > Storage ? Have you tried logging and out back in to Settings > iCloud and seeing it it then shows ?

Another way is to just easily go the App Store on your iphone or ipad and look under purchased arrow. Click on it and all your apps you've downloaded or purchased are right there, no connection needed. Just hit the icloud button and download them. The reason I think you "lost" them is you forgot to back them up to your original back up on your mac in itunes.
I can now see all my apps via icons right in itunes, which is cool for me.
If your apps are in itunes then they should, should have backed up to your restore. If they didn't that's weird.
Too many people are screwing up the update by not SLOWLY reading the instruction options when they begin, not Apples fault. Also, so many people are impatient and thinking that when it says "restoring" "backing up" they freak and think they are losing everything and prematurely stop the upgrade, unplug or whatever.
People take a deep breath. This is a MAJOR undertaking for Apple and all of us.
Perspective - over 100 Million iOS devices.... Think about it. No company has attempted to do what they are doing -- all at once.

last thing you can try would be go to settings, general, settings, reset all settings
if that does not work, a factory restore will be needed...

I lost my ringtones from my phone when I upgraded to iOS 6 on my iPhone 4. The ringtones are still on my computer and play in iTunes, but they won't re-transfer back to the phone. I'm using the correct iTunes account on both my computer and phone. In the iPhone view of iTunes on my computer, it shows that my phone recognizes that I had those ringtones, but there is an exclamation mark showing that my phone can't find the files. I can't delete these "placeholders" from my phone with the hopes of re-transfering the files back to the phone, either. I cannot just simply re-transfer the files from my computer back to the phone. It won't let me using the regular synch options and I can't find anything in the menus of iTunes to help me out either.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

I Am considering upgrading to ios 8 for the new apps and features it brings but I am wondering if my apps will work on ios 8 and data will be saved? I know that when I upgraded to ios 7 all my data was still there, and I have heard ios 8 is similar to ios 7 in terms of look not like ios 6 to 7.

My iPad 4 runs fine on IOS 8.1.2, you should have no problems. To second what mende1 has already said be sure to make a backup first. The one time I had troubles with a update and needed to restore my iPad the iCloud backup fully restored all my infomation.

Any restrictions set up in Settings/General/Restrictions? If yes, disable them. Default apps that are restricted will disappear from the screen, lifting the restrictions again will bring them back.

It's a built-in app, so it can't be deleted nor downloaded from the store. If you can't find it on any of your homescreens or app folders, and you can't find it via the spotlight search screen (swipe your first home screen to the right), then is it hidden by Settings > General > Restrictions > Camera being set 'off' ?
If not then have you tried a reset to see if you can find it after the iPad has restarted ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

You need to provide more details about what happened. But, here is something you can check.
When you run Photo and it converts your library, it doesn't delete the iPhoto library. Look in your Pictures folder - you should see two libraries:
iPhoto Library.migratedphotolibrary (this is the original iPhoto library)
Photos Library.photoslibrary (this is the new Photos library)
You should still be able to open the original iPhoto library. The iPhoto application was not deleted from your computer. (It was probably removed from your Dock if you had an icon there.) Look in the Applications folder, find iPhoto, and run it. It should show your original library with all your original images.
It is always a good idea to back up your photos (and the iPhoto library) before trying these migrations. Problems do occur...
