Lost on video card driver

I have the MSI 845 GM/GLM/GEM/PEM/GVM Series for Intel Pentium 4 running Windows XP Home Edition. When I install Service Pack 2 my screen resolution changes and cannot be adjusted. I was told that after installing sp2 I need to update my video card driver. I know it's an onboard video card, but I have no idea what I'm suppose to update. Any help would be appreciated. I'm lost.

You'll need to install the following drivers:
1) intel.inf chipset driver from www.intel.com
2) Onboard VGA driver from www.msi.com.tw/index.htm > products page > S478 Desktop > Look for 845GM mainboard > Go to drivers tab > download the onboard graphics driver.

  • Photoshop CC stopped recognizing my video card.  Photoshop CC(64) still recognizes it properly. Video card driver is up to date.

ON or about January 15th my Photoshop CC (original) which I use because it works with many of my older filters was working properly. Several days later it refused to recognize my video card and my performance plummeted. ( It has the performance tab greyed out. )
It keeps popping up a message saying I am out of VRAM. Then when I try using filters like Liquify I get his message.
When I use Photoshop 64bit it correctly finds and uses my video card
How do I make Photoshop CC correctly find my video card?

First, try updating your video card driver from NVidia's website.

  • How to update video card driver?

Hi, I have a Toshiba satellite pro C660-1LR laptop and I don't know how to update the video card driver which is an "Intel® HD Graphics". I have been to the intel site and when scanning for updates I was given this message:
"A customized computer manufacturer driver is installed on your computer. The Intel Driver Update Utility is not able to update the driver. Installing a generic Intel driver instead of the customized computer manufacturer driver may cause technical issues. Contact your computer manufacturer for the latest driver for your computer."
I was wondering where to go from here as the lack of update for my video card driver is preventing me from playing some games.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Your video card driver may be fine for something, but just not compatible with Premiere Elements 13/13.1.
For those with the display card error, the answers include
    a. assure your video card/graphics card driver version is up to date according to the web site of the manufacturer of the card -
if necessary consider a driver roll back.
    b. determine in Device Manager/Display Adapters if the computer is using 2 cards instead of 1
    c. delete the BadDrivers.txt file
the rationale for that deletion is found in post 10 of the following older post...principle applies to 13 as well as 9.
Re: Premiere Elements 9 Tryout Serious Display Problem
Have you looked for computer ATI card settings that might be more compatible with Premiere Elements 13/13.1?
When is the program crashing - just opening a new project or rather crashing if editing a particular video format at the Timeline level?

  • How to install video card driver?

I download a video card driver, after uncompress, i have 6 files as below:
    glx.so
    libGL.so.1
    riva_install
    libGL.so
    LibGL.so.1.0
    XF86_SVGA
It seems that only riva_install and XF86_SVGA is executable files, so i run them. But there are some problems cause i can not continue:
    1. when i run riva_install, screen displays:
Enter path to the X server tree.
    If unsure, press <Enter>.
    -n Path [usr/X11R6] :
Then i press <Enter>, it displays as follow:
    /My_Download/VideoCard/X-GLX-libc5-i386-dyn/riva_install: test: argument expected
At this point, what should i input?
    2. When i try to run XF86_SVGA, screen displays:
    XF86_SVGA: Cannot find /lib/ld-linux.so.1
    3. I use netscape to view webpage. Usually when i open a new page, netscape always ask me to install cookies again and agin, i press ok, and next time, it still ask the same question, even i press ok for N times to accept install cookies.
Could you please kindly answer me?
    Thanks

After run kdmconfig, i have following description:
Video Device: NVIDIA RIVA TNT2 (32MB)
    Screen Size: 16-inch (41cm)
    Resolution/Colors: 1024x768 - 256 colors @ 85Hz
Which means the system recognize my video card, i don't need to install extra driver for that, right?
But how come i can't see picture clearly?
And whenever i open a new page, netscape often ask me to install cookies again and again?

  • Swing, Java2d, JRE 6 Update N, Video Card/Driver

    Hello,
I am developping a high-performance ui using Swing, SwingX and Java2D.
    I am using JRE 6 UPDATE N.
I am looking for some information about what video card/driver would bring me the best performance solution on windows xp?
    (Hardware-accelerated graphics, etc).
    thank you,

I am looking for some information about what video card/driver would bring me the best performance solution on windows xp?
(Hardware-accelerated graphics, etc).Nobody can answer this as it's too vague. In general, you can research video cards and their capabilities to see which is the fastest at this or that operation. Then you could search for drivers that work well on that card and OS configuration. But "the best" solution doesn't exist in such a general context. Since 1.4 of Java, Swing makes use of hardware acceleration. Whether DirectX is used or OpenGL is something you shouldn't care about. DirectX is preferred of course, but this won't come into play unless you're doing 3D stuff (I believe).

  • Not install the video card driver

Please help solve the problem, HP Pavilion dv6 6051-er Why not install the video card driver or a video card is burned? When I install a video card driver Radeon (TMM) HD 6770 in a few seconds during the installation screen is black and so is, download the drivers from multiple sites from off site and others, please: help solve the problem.

    that´s a strange problem.
Maybe the agp-slot somehow is faulty since you ran into problems with booth cards.
Have you visually check mainboard for any signs of bad capacitors, agp slot interface etc.
PS,  seems like you do the driver install about the same order as me
    - Win XP + all updates
    - DirectX
    - Inf driver
    - Vga driver
    - rest......
If the problems occured on a regulary basis when playing games etc, then it could be some heatingproblems or to weak psu, but that don´t seems to be the problem for you.

  • Upgrading Video Card Driver

    Hi there,
I want to upgrade my video card driver because my old one does not support some games I would like to play. I was just wandering which I should get, one that's cheap, but supports most games. Computer info:
Here's what it says in System Properties:
    System:
    Microsoft Windows XP
    Home Edition
    Version 2002
    Server Pack 3
    Dell Vostro 1500
    Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU
    T5270 @ 1.40GHz
1.40 GHz, 1.99 GB of RAM
    Help would be appreciated, thanks
    popy2308

In general, laptops can not have their graphics cards upgraded and the ones that can were extremely expensive and large, and the upgrades that are available are expensive to get installed and not worth it unfortunately.

  • Sudden video card drive error causing freeze

I am using Premiere Elements 11 and suddenly it started to show video card drive error when trying to create a new project or open an existing one. The error says that Adobe detected an incompatible display driver GeForce 9600 GT/PCIe/SSE2 3.3.0 and ask me to update the driver. If I click OK on this message Adobe starts creating or opening a project but freezes. I cannot even close the application as the computer does not react to Ctrl+Alt+Del neither so I have to force restart it. When it freezes I see two Adobe logo at the bottom of the screen in the taskbar as if it would try to open the application twice.
I have the latest video card driver installed: version 340.52. Moreover, Premiere Elements opened and worked without problem before and I have not changed anything in my video card driver before the error started to show up.
Any idea what can be the problem and how to fix it?

  • 3190sl video card driver update

Hi everyone, i got a HP 3190sl with switchable graphic:
the lower one is Ati Mobility Radeon HD 4250,
the "gaming" one is Ati Mobility Radeon HD 5650.
The cpu is a AMD Phenom II N950.
The problem is quite simple: the drivers given with the support are 4 years old, and i really want to update my drivers.
What i did at the very start was just trying to update the single 5650 video card, but doing this i lost any possibility to switch between the 2 video cards, so i was wondering if there's something i can do. On www.amd.com i cant find anything related to switchable graphics, and the drivers for the single video cards are not compatible with switchable graphics, so what should i do?
With the notebook at his initial state, the drivers are obviously the same i could download fro the hp support, but we are talking about a 2010 driver, an old one.
I mean, did they just made a base switchable driver for this notebook and i must carry this very old driver through all the notebook's life, even 4 years after its release?
    Any suggestion will be appreciated.

    Hello klthiep,
I see that you were trying to update the graphics drivers for you notebook.
Unfortunately, the only drivers available for your notebook that allow switchable graphics for those chips are the ones on the drivers page for the notebook.  I looked to see if there were any other compatible drivers and could not locate anything that would work with the notebook.
Sorry for any inconveniences this may cause.
Thank you for posting on the HP Forums.

  • Video card driver issue with K8T FSR

I put a new system togather yesterday. Here are the spcs.
    AMD64 2800+
    MSI K8T FSR (VIA chipset)
Geil Value Series 184 Pin 512MB DDR PC-3200
    WD 120 mb drive
    Gainward fx5600xt 128MB
I installed Windows XP 32bit, VIA 4in1 drivers and directX 9. Most of the BIOS is set to safe performance (no overclocking). I then installed the latest nvidia drivers and rebooted. I see the Windows XP logo and then I get different colors on the screen. No display or colors only (no pattern). I rebooted in safe mode and uninstalled the drivers and the system booted fine. I then installed the driver I got with the card and same thing happened. Anyone experince this sort of behavior after installing video driver? Or does anyone have a suggestion on how I can fix my problem. Any help is grealy appreciated.
    Thanks.

Try installing latest drivers from card manufacturers website. Before you do that, go ahead and install DirectX drivers first...then re-boot system and try to locate latest video card drivers. Or, let Widows find compatible drivers from it's source, and use those until you get your system running stable....then venture out on the web for your GPU's latest software....just some ideas.....

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hello,
According to the specs I found here, your GPU is a 128MB Nvidia 7300 Go. As stated previously, Lenovo has not certfifed a Windows 7 driver; however, NVIDIA does have a Win 7 driver for your GPU. Go here to download and please note that NVIDIA recommends getting the driver directly from Lenovo. Anyway, you can try it and see if it works.
    Good luck!
