Lost Original Install Disk

I am prepping to migrate SBS 2008 to new hardware.  Our old server is dying a slow miserable death. Unfortunately, my predecessor took the original disk we received with the HP server with him when he left the company.  I downloaded the iso from
the Microsoft website, but that iso does not contain the Tools folder.
I am assuming (for better or worse) that the Migration Wizard was contained in that folder. Can someone direct me where to download the full iso or at least the contents of the tools folder?
I wish we could afford the cost of the CALs to upgrade to Server 2012 and Exchange 2013 but that expense is way out of our budget.
Thanks in advance,
Esyxx

Agreed. Another possibility might be to contact HP for the disks.
As for the budget problem... consider Server or Server Essentials (if you have < 25 users) and Office 365.  Might be easier on the budget as you can pay as you go and as you add or loose employees.

I lost my Install disks and need to reinstall my System files. Any ideas where I can find a used set?????

    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
If you are talking about the original restore disks you can call Apple Customer Service with your serial number and they will send you new ones for a fee. Or you can look on eBay for a Mac OS 9.0.2 (Mac OS ROM 3.5). If you also need the AHT Disk the PowerBook 1.0, 1.1, 1.2, 1.2.1, 1.2.2 and 1.2.3 disks will work.
If you need Tiger, as Tom indicated, you will need a Full Retail Version which you can purchase from the Apple Store or online suppliers, or on 4 CDs from applerescue.com
    Good luck.

  • Reinstalling OS X on a mid 07 iMac, do i go back to original install disk or should i use Snow Leopard disk?

I have an mid 07 iMac, running on Mountain lion OS. It has been not working smoothly, constant freezing. I'm guessing its dying, however when I run a hardware test on DU is passes with no errors. I would like to wipe it clean and re-install my most recent OS, and my backed up harddrive. I have everything backed up on an external hd. I tried to do the recovery with Command R and it wouldn't do it. I think its something with my internet connection??  I tried to reinstall with the last OS install disk I have which is Snow Leopard. It wouldn't let me do that either. Do I have to go back to original install disk that came with it and start from scratch? I want to make sure I cover all bases before I invest another grand into one of these lovely machines:) any advice would be appreciated.

    Good morning.
Just to repeat.  Back up before doing anything; preferably to an external (portable) HD.
Luckily you seem to have the original dvd.  Boot from that; you should then be able to select erase and install. That will erase everything on your HD and load the OS.  It should bring you to 10.6.3.  Once that is done you can then  software update to 10.6.8.  The Combo update is an option you can use instead of going through each process one at a time.  For that you should download and apply ...

Need to erase hard drive and reinstall system on iMac but have misplaced original install disks. Tried to use a my copy of Snow lepord 10.6 from my Mac Pro but will not boot. Can original install disks be replaced. Thanks

Yes the original Install Discs can be replaced for a nominal fee. Call AppleCare, you will need a credit card and the serial number of the machine. You can use the AppleCare Contact Info for the phone number on your part of the planet.

My 2011 MBP has begun running slow with frequent 'spinning beach ball' events. I'm running Yosemite and wondered if I should of use the original install disk for a maintenance reinstall. I presume I'd have to download Yosemite again, though I'd be happy just using Snow Leopard again too.
    Thanks for the help.

When you see a beachball cursor or the slowness is especially bad, note the exact time: hour, minute, second.

Sounds like your data crashing out palm desktop.
It's either your calendar or contacts causing the issue.
    Steps to fix
    1. Navigate to C:/program files/palm/Hotsync ID
    2. In that folder locate another folder called datebook
    3. Remove datebook.dat file from there and place on desktop
    4. Go to folder called Address
    5. Remove address.dat file from there and place on desktop
    6. Attempt to open palm desktop
    IF it opens continue
    7. Go to tools/options and change the start up application from datebook to memos
    8. Navigate to C:/program files/palm/Hotsync ID
    9. In that folder locate another folder called datebook
    10. Grab the datebook.dat file off of the desktop and place in the folder
    11. Choose to overwrite the file
    12. Go to folder called Address
    13. Grab the address.dat file off of the desktop and place in the folder
    14. Choose to overwrite the file
    15. Relaunch palm desktop
    16. Go to tools/options/tools
    17. Select fix corrupted records.
    18. Close palm desktop re open
Everything should work fine. If you want you can then change the start up application back to datebook.

  • Reinstalling MacOS from the original install disks

I have a late 2009 Mac mini which I want to sell, so trying to install the original OS (Snow Leopard) from the original install disks. When loading the disk and either trying the option key or the C key the disk simply runs for 10 secs then ejects itself.
I've tried other disks in the drive with no problems.
    Any ideas?
I've done this procedure several times over the years on other macs and had no problem, so fairly sure I'm doing it correctly!

Well it took 12 hours to free the space on the hard drive, but completed fine. But still I have the same problems, so borrowed a friend's superdrive, and, it worked, to a point! I know find running through the installation disc setup, when I get to the point where you select your hard drive to install to it the HD has a yellow triangle over it and it says you can't install to this drive!
I ran the repair function on the drive and it says all is OK.
Sorry about this but any further ideas? I'm on the verge of taking to a Apple repairer but would rather sort it myself it possible.
    Thanks for your help

  • I lost my install disk

ya, i lost my install disk and now i need to install my router on a new computer. i tried it without the disk and it says i am connected, however i cant get to the internet at all???

So, is the (non) connection between the desktop and the router wireless or wired? How about the laptops? Do they connect OK? Wireless or wired?
What if you (temporarily) connect the desktop directly to the modem? Does that work?
What are the security settings on the router?

  • Erasing a MacBook WITHOUT the original install disks??

I am selling my MacBook. I no longer have the install disks BUT I have a new copy of Snow Leapard.
How can I erase my stuff from the computer WITHOUT the original install disks?

The "buyer" is my sister. She is not very tech savvy and will just be emailing and web surfing until the Mac book dies.
Still, the original startup discs contain things like the Apple Hardware Test that may come in handy.
Will installing SL erase the stuff on the computer??
If you want to, yes. If not, no.

  • How can I fix an invalid sibling link error message without my original install disk?

How can I fix an invalid sibling link error message without my original install disk?

    Hi Jeff,
It's not even likely the Install Disc could fix that, but if you want to try...
Does it boot to Single User Mode, CMD+s keys at bootup, if so try...
    /sbin/fsck -fy
Repeat until it shows no errors fixed.
(Space between fsck AND -fy important).
Resolve startup issues and perform disk maintenance with Disk Utility and fsck...

You must repair the HD, your best bet is likely DiskWarrior.

Finally, you should run DiskWarrior if your Mac explicitly warns you of a problem with your disk in the form of an error message. Most of these errors are reported by the built-in Disk Utility whether your Mac OS X version is 10.3 Panther, 10.4 Tiger, 10.5 Leopard, 10.6 Snow Leopard or 10.7 Lion. Here are some of the most common messages:
Disk Repair: The disk was not repairable by this computer. It is being made available to you with limited functionality. You must back up your data and reformat the disk as soon as possible.
The underlying task reported failure on exit.
    Invalid node structure.
    Keys out of order.
    Invalid key length.
    Invalid directory item count.
    Invalid extent entry.
    Invalid record count.
    Invalid index key.
    Invalid sibling link.

  • HT1346 lost my install disks

i have lost my install disks how to get new ones

Try searching amazon or ebay with keywords like your computer (ex. 'Powerbook g5') and then 'disc' and the version of os x you want (ex. 'install disc 10.4.10'). It shouldn't be more than $50. If you want to try ordering from Apple, call support and ask for an exception so you don't have to buy another plan. Ask for the discs, and if ur lucky, they will have some you can buy.
Just remember - when ordering from amazon or ebay, make sure you get all the discs neccessary which is 2 install discs, and maybe on for ilife and iwork, and maybe a trial of marbleblast gold or world book or something.
