Lost over 1000 pictures

While transfering pictures from my iphone and at the same time up grading the phone A folder was created called "iPod Photo Cache"in my pictures folder and I wanted to know what exactly this was for. I have taken over 1000 photos with the iphone but it seemed to have trouble opening up so I I can not find my pictures any where and i'm hoping for they to be under this ipod photo cache. Is there a software to open up this files "ITHMB" and are these my pictures?
Inside the main folder, there are a bunch of other folders, starting with F00, going all the way to F50 and inside this folder and about 12 files called "ITHMB" in each of them. Please assist to understand better...
Thanks!!!

iTunes converts every image to work on the iphone. It compresses them down and such to fit on the screen. Those files it creates is all the thumbnails and stuff for the images.
If you delete them, you'll have to re-convert all of the images.

  • What is the best way to share over 1000 pictures on Apple TV?

What is the best way to share over 1000 pictures on Apple TV?

    Creating Shared Photo Streams:
Shared Photo Streams are permanent iCloud albums for storing photos and videos that can sync across all your iCloud-enabled devices. This is different from your "My Photo stream" that's basically a running tally only holding photos for about a month or 1,000. Shared streams follow different rules...
In your photos app in an iPhone or ipad, at the bottom you'll see a "shared" icon.  Choose it and then create a new shared stream, you don't have to actually share it with anyone when it prompts you for a contact just click "Create".  Then choose the photos you want in there.  If your Apple TV is linked to your iCloud account you will be able to see those shared streams.
    See here http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5902.
    Apple states:
How many photos and videos can be stored in a shared stream?
A shared stream can hold a maximum of 5000 photos and videos combined. When you reach your limit, you must delete some photos or videos before adding new ones.
How long are iCloud Photo Sharing photos and videos stored in iCloud?
The photos and videos you share (and the comments or Likes associated with those photos) remain in iCloud until you or the contributor delete them manually, or until you delete the shared stream completely.

  • My iphone says i have 6.1gb photos in photo library. over 1000 pictures. i only have 60 how do i dlete these?

my iphone says i have 6.1gb of photos on my photo library, 1000 pictures. i only have 60. how do i see and delete these pictures?

On iO8 8?  If you have already emptied the Recently Deleted album, and still have phantom photos,  check this post:
Have a look at this solution:  There are apparently more users suffering from phantom photos that cannot be deleted:  Changing the date makes the photos in "Recently deleted" visible again:

I managed to get rid of the phantom usage. Restoring iPhone and resetting the phone settings/data do not work for me.
I had to move the Date on my phone earlier by 1,2,3 months and found the phantom photos in the Recently Deleted Folder. Next, I deleted the photos manually from the Recently Deleted Folder and the usage got freed up from my iPhone.

  • HT4436 How do I know what is saved in iCloud? My settings always says Sam amount available even though I have added over 1000 pictures.

HOw do I know what is saved on my iCloud? In my settings it says I have the same amount of available space even though I have added over 2000 pictures through photo stream. & over 2000 in my photo library. I pay $100.00 a Year for iCloud &for more MB of space, I want to know I am backed up in iCloud??

Photo Stream does not count against your storage, and your photos of your camera roll is included in your backups.
Please see here what counts against your storage: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4859?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US

  • I updated my phone with lastest software.  I have lost over 500 pictures.  Not all were deleted.  Is there a way I can get them back?  They are of my new grandson and I am very upset.  Also, why is it that most each time I sign in I have to reset my pas

Lost pictures during software update.  Can I get them back?
Also why do I have to reset my password almost each time I access my apps?

Whenever you connect iPhone in iTunes, it syncs and a backup is created. Check backup folder if you have that time-stamped file saved.

  • Photos quit unexpectedly and I then lost over 300 pictures

I was using Photos to edit pictures.  The program "quit unexpectedly" (I received the error message).  When I reopened the program, over 300 photos had been deleted.  Where are they? Can I get them back?

I was working with iPhoto downloading pictures
Do you mean importing photos? If so what were you importing from? If it is a flash drive why not just re-import from it? Where did you scan them?
As to backups - you really need to always have your backup running - without good backups you will lose all photos sooner or later

  • When will Tiger work properly?!?!?  I just lost over 1000 of my addresses!!

Tiger has been a complete pain in the *** for me since day one. With every upgrade, I pray that it's been fixed. 10.4.4 seemed be better. And YET, just an hour or so ago, I lost my entire data base of business customers from my address book. And it might be permanent. I just spent the last hour trying to salvage as much as I could from my home computer and the same bug that caused me to lose everything appears not to be a fluke as Address Book is locking up on searches, just like what happened before it happened on the other computer. This never happened before and I just lost data worth $thousands to me. Tens of $thousands actually. Exactly what the **** is going on at Apple? Does anyone know how to find my address and restore them? Address book won't recognize any of the files from the looks of it. Now I'm worried of losing all of what little I have left.

I doubt if you've lost them, only just can't find them in the current account. They're there somewhere! Might be something like this:

Has your home folder moved/changed names/been deleted?
Are you logged on as usual?

  • HT1349 RECENTLY MY COMPUTOR CRASHED AND I LOST OVER 1000 ITUNE SONG THat I had purchased

most of the songs I have downloaded to my ipod can the be reloaded to my computor or does itune download all my purchases

If for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup copy, not good, tehn you can transfer itunes purchases from an ipod/iphone/ipad:  File>Transfer Purchases or you can redownload some itunes purchases in some countries:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

Not through iCloud, but are they still on your iPad or iPhone?  Open Photos, then go to the Albums and see if they are still in the main Camera Roll rather than My Photo Stream.  If they are in there, it would be a good idea to sync the devices to a computer so you can store the photos.

  • IPhoto downloaded more than 1000 pictures

    Hello all,
I lost my phone and Im trying to recover the pictures using MyPhotoStream on IPhoto.
I read that its supposed to save the last 1000 pictures on your phone. Somehow the IPhoto managed to download 1800 pictures instead to my Macbook Pro. What is going on? Could someone give me a light of where those 800 pictures come from?
Would it maybe be possible to get the rest?
    Thanks in advance,
    Joao

    Joao,
the limits to the photo stream are just guidelines. You may be lucky and the Photo Stream may download more photos than the 1000 photos limit, but you cannot rely on that.
Sometimes I am finding more than 1000 photos in the stream, but sometimes only the last month's photos, far less than 1000 pics.
The bottleneck is iCloud. All your devices upload the new photos to a cache in iCloud and other devices have one month time to retrieve the new photos from there - and less than a month's time, if iCloud already holds 1000 photos. Then the older photos will/may be removed.
Your macs have a second cache of downloaded contents from iCloud, and that cache may differ from what is currently visible in iCloud. Perhaps your additional photos came from your local iCloud storage in your user library. On your mac the photo stream lives in your user library in
    ~/Library/Application Support/iLifeAssetManagement/assets/

  • Deleting over 1000 images on iPhone

I am trying to delete over 1000 photos on my iPhone.  I tried with image capture in apps, but an error occurs while importing.  it won't import or delete because go error.  what next?

I have tried it. Created a blank folder in the picture library folder, synched it to this folder, but still,
all my images show up on the iPhone. I wish it was as simple as dragging the created albums to the trash and ...The trash can icon is actually present when one deals with pictures taking with the iPhone it is a different story for images originating from a different device. Any more thoughts??I have a 4GB iPhone but now it is practically full

  • I have over 2000 pictures in IPhoto how do I transfer to ICloud?

I have over 2000 pictures in IPhoto how do I transfer to ICloud?

You can't. iCloud is not a general purpose photo storage solution. The Photostream feature is only a conduit for transferring photos from iOS devices to other iOS devices and your computer. It only stores up to the latest 1000 photos for a maximum of 30 days.
As Winston points out, you also cannot use iCloud on your current OS X 10.6.8 system, you'll need to upgrade to OS X 10.7.2 or later.

  • How do i get the 1000 pictures i have on my buckup ?

i have more than 1000 pictures on the backup but its only showing me 150, wish means is the last backup after i upgrade my Iphone .... before i upgrade i had the 1000 pics ... but now it shows me only 150.
I REALLY NEED TO GET THIS 1000 PICS !!!

Relying on icloud's backup for pictures has been a big problem for many users.  Never rely solely on icloud for storage of your pix.  If the backup doesn't have those photos, then they are lost.
    The rule is...
You should be importing all pics taken with the iphone to your computer regularly as you would with any digital camera.

  • Urgent Help Needed - i-Photo '11 Lost All My Pictures !!!

I have just bought the trio package of OS-i-Life and i-Work and has installed them all. I have started to use i-Photo. I have converted my i-photo library to the new format. The faces ran over night and finished creating faces for all my pictures. Today I have spent almost entire day tagging names to people in my library. Shortly after I was done tagging all names, I was checking the whole program in the full screen mode the program shut off. It was actually the 3rd time it has done that Today. Every time it was shutting off it was just loosing the last tagging information (before I could press the DONE button). But this time it is disastrous. When I start the i-phone program, I receive a warning window which says the i-phone library can not be recognized and the only option in the window is pressing QUIT which shuts down the i-Phone program. I have lost all my pictures. Did anybody encounter something like this before? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for your help.

    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.
