Pavilion dm4 Asking for an administrator account and its password. What can I do? I

It keeps asking for an administrator account. It needs a password as well! It won't let me go beyond that screen and if I press cancel it will shut the computer. I cannot access my home screen!

Try entering a wrong password- or simply leaving it blank- and tap Enter key. After 3 times it should give you a disabled code. Post the code.

Try resetting the iPod. Nothing will be lost.

Once I enter password for myself (administrator) spinning takes longer than normal and doesn't log in but displays a no sign (circle w line through it) when attempting to login from guest account it takes me to screen that says that the computer will restart to a safe safari system for the guest user. I waited for a longer time and the grey denim screen comes up. By the apple in left upper corner it said I think LSA? Then safari menu bar. Can someone HELP? I'm afraid I might do something wrong

I am suddenly getting this message when I try to copy a file from my new Macbookpro to my Powerbook running 10.4.9.
"You may need to enter the name and password for an administrator on this computer to change the item named "file i am trying to transfer". stop continue
I hit continue and get the error message: "The item "that I am transferring" contains one or more items you do not have permission to read. Do you want to copy the items you are allowed to read?
I say continue and get the error: "The operation cannot be completed because you do not have sufficient priveleges for some of the items."
My network was working fine until today. I can copy fine to all other computers on my network. But not this one.
If I initiate a transfer from the Powerbook, everything works fine.
Ideas?

I experience the exact issue between a macbook pro and an iMac.
I can access the files locally on my macbook, copy them on usb-stick, etc.
but ... when I try to copy the files to my iMac ... it fails with the sequence of questions you mentioned.
However!
I can copy whatever I like from my macbook if I use my wifes account.
So...
Imho there is a problem when the SAME account is used on both systems.
In my case, I copied my account from the macbook to the (new) iMac.
Mac OS X seems to be confused when the same accounts are used.
Does this makes sense?

I have a HP Envy23 from around 2 years. I'm trying to install new software, but i forgot the password of my administrator account and i haven't access to new installations. How can I eliminate or change my administrator account or change that password?

If you've forgotten your Windows password and you're on a domain, you should contact your system administrator to reset your password. If you're not on a domain, you can reset your password by using a password reset disk or by using an administrator account. If you forget the administrator password and don't have a password reset disk or another administrator account, you won't be able to reset the password. If there are no other user accounts on the computer, you won't be able to log on to Windows and will need to re-install Windows. BT have made some changes to their email services recently (http://bt.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/44789/) so you may be having problems because of this. I was certainly having problems, although I don't think that they were exactly the same as yours, and resolved it by creating a new account called something new. If you haven't deleted any mail from the BT webmail, when you create a new account on your Mac, it will mirror everything on webmail as it is an IMAP account. Once you are happy that the new account is working properly and that you haven't lost any messages, you can delete the old account.

Have you set the general preferences in iPhoto to email using iPhoto? Then change it to email using "Mail". This way iPhoto will use your regular Mail account.
