Lost Password / Hard Erase???

Hi Everyone,
Maybe someone can help me??? My 11 year old genius forgot his password to his HP Touchpad WebOS about ten minutes after he received it.
I found the instructions on this site to do a hard erase of the device, however, I am a little hesitant.
Does that erase the ENTIRE device of ALL applications, namely the Factory Default applications??? That would seem kind of silly but I don't want just a plain blank, electronic screen. I guess to try to explain myself better, I'll try this:
Does performing a hard erase reset on the device just simply restore it back to it's original condition???
I would appreciate any input available.

The "Full Erase" function places the device back into the "out of the box" condition it arrived in.
It will erase user data (pictures, music, etc.)
You can then create a new HPwebOS account and save the password.

I inherited a Sun McData Intrepid 6064 64-Port Director Switch. It's previous netadmin is no longer available. All I can access so far is the serial port as it's default password is intact. I can't access telnet or the web interfaces due to the lost passwords. I've tried all sorts of things from different info in the web, being careful not to erase the config and licenses, but no luck so far. Has anybody had success resetting the telnet/web interface passwords on this switch, or any other McData switch? Thank you!

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for this very occasion.
Use your backup copy to put everything back.
If for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup, not good, then you can transfer itunes purchases from your ipod: File>Transfer Purchases

Prevent automatic syncing one time, without changing settings: Open iTunes. Then, as you connect iPhone to your computer, press and hold Shift-Control (on a PC) until you see iPhone appear in the sidebar. Then, use iTunes File menu > Transfer Purchases from XXX's iPhone. This will transfer your purchased items.

You won't be able to recover you entire library from your iPad but you can recover some of its contents by transferring the purchases back to iTunes. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848 This will not transfer anything you did not purchase from iTunes, for example music or video files you had stored on the HD and you put into iTunes. Without a backup that information is gone. One very important thing to keep in mind. Once you sync the iPad to the new iTunes it will remove all the afore mentioned music or video files from the iPad. Do not sync with iTunes if you want to keep those files. Hope that helps.

Quick thing to try: from the Finder, select the View menu and then select "Clean Up" in case it has wandered somewhere almost off the desktop. Also, if it is "hiding" behind something, it will be revealed.

If you have a way to wipe 10.6.8 off, you can then reboot your machine (with no OS) and since your system came preinstalled with Lion, Internet Recovery should occur which will boot to Apple's servers into a Recovery HD for you to redownload and install Lion.
To be safe I would first make a clone of the current installation using Carbon Copy Cloner or SuperDuper!. This way you have a way to recover.

My username and password get erased when I try to remote log in to my corporate email account

Hi Folks,
When I try to log in remotely to my corporate (Outlook) email account, the correct username and password are erased once I hit 'enter' and I don't get in. I bought the Toshiba laptop a couple of weeks ago and I could get in for a while, but then I couldn't.

Multi Language support for lost password management in OAM

We are trying to implement lost password management with multi-language support. We have updated lpm_changepwd.xsl for UI changes. Some of the text on the password change screen come for the lpm_changepwd.xsl. How can we have the text on the password change screen in multiple language?

Was able to do it by adding new files to the shared folder and updating the style in the lang folder to point to the new files.

Confusing lost password form behaviour

I have a client ecommerce site using the following features of business catalyst:
a secure zone for customers, and associated registration/login/lost password forms
a newsletter sign up / (email marketing list subscription form)
The issue is if a visitor to the website registers their email with a marketing list via the newsletter form, they can then use the 'lost password' feature to trigger a password reset email... which serves no purpose as they are not subscribed to any secure zones in the first place and have no username to log in with.
This has confused many customers who have only registered for the newsletter, and come back to the site later thinking they have an account who then use the password retrieval form.
Is this something I can work around? It just seems like a bug with BC - it really shouldn't be emailing a password reset when there isn't a username.
Extra information: Just for completeness sake I went through the process of:
registering for a list
requesting a password reset
resetting (setting?) the password - resulting in confusion: I can't login, then
attempting to register an account (which will subscribe me to a secure zone) with that email.
I was able to create an account but received the message: Your record has an existing password. This will be emailed to you. [******] - has been ignored. Obviously the password is not emailed to me, it emails another password reset link.

Customer signs up to newsletter on (only one form on this page) http://www.smittenmerino.com/vip
Customer comes back at a later date, maybe thinking they already have an account, maybe thinking when they signed up to the newsletter that it was an account.
Customer goes to login page/page requiring login http://www.smittenmerino.com/account/ and thinks 'oh gosh. what's my password' and clicks the 'forgot password link'
Customer arrives at the lost password form (only one form on this page) http://www.smittenmerino.com/account/lost and submit their email address successfully
Customer receives the password retrieval email, (note: the username tag for this email will be sent to them as blank), and depending on their determination, they might click the password reset link and add to their confusion and frustration.
Step 4. should not be possible, they should receive the error message that there isn't an account with that username/email address.
